The next day, when Janet woke up, she found herself in her room.

She clearly remembered she was sitting on the sofa and maybe dozed off while waiting for Edwin.

But what surprised her was that she was comfortably tucked inside her bed when she woke up.

She got down and put on her slippers to walk toward Edwin’s room but found it empty.

It was still early for office hours, but she didn’t bother and get ready for office.

The dinner she had kept for Edwin was still untouched and lying on the table.

Anyone would think he hadn’t returned, but he had changed his clothes, and his last night’s shirt was lying on the laundry basket.

Janet didn’t know why he didn’t wake her up when it was undeniable that Edwin must have carried her to her bedroom.

Janet didn’t know why she was feeling something amiss, but she didn’t get a clue and could only leave for the office after finishing her breakfast.

The day wasn’t going as she expected.
