Alvin quickly took care of the purchase of Mang Lope’s land. With no issues from the old man’s side, the transaction went smoothly. The calm atmosphere of Sta. Clara had embraced them for the past few days, and tonight was their last night in the province. The evening was cool, and the sky above was dotted with stars, casting a serene glow over the quiet town. Patricia joined Alvin for a drink once again, the rustic charm of their surroundings adding to the intimacy of the moment.

“You can't get drunk tonight because you’ll be driving tomorrow,” Patricia reminded Alvin, her eyes following his movements as he lounged comfortably at the table, the warm, amber light of the lantern flickering between them.
