CHAPTER 39

Just as Alvin had mentioned, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee greeted Patricia as she descended the stairs. The living room was immaculate, bathed in the soft morning light streaming through the large windows, casting a warm, inviting glow over everything. She spotted Alvin sitting calmly in the same chair he had occupied the previous night, looking both relaxed and alert, as if waiting for her.

"Come on," he said, his voice low and familiar, his eyes never leaving her.

Patricia felt her heart race, her chest tightening with a familiar nervousness as she approached him. She couldn’t deny the effect his gaze had on her, those deep, dark eyes that held a sensual intensity she had never experienced with Robert. It was a look that stirred something deep inside her, awakening emotions she wasn’t sure she was ready to confront.

"W-Where are we going today? And why did you say someone’s coming to install the internet? It’s Sunday, isn’t it?" Her voice wavered slightly, betraying her nerves
