“And what are you doing in Batangas? Why didn’t you tell me ahead of time?” Caleb’s voice was sharp, cutting through the stillness of the room like a blade. Patricia could feel the tension in the air, his frustration palpable even through the phone. She sighed deeply, feeling the weight of his questions pressing down on her. She knew he was angry, and she couldn’t blame him.

“What are you doing, Patricia? Why do you have to go through all of this? We could have done everything the right way,” Caleb continued, his tone laced with irritation and disappointment, each word a reminder of how much he cared for her.

Patricia closed her eyes briefly, taking another deep breath to steady herself before she spoke. “I’m sorry I didn’t tell you. This was all so sudden, and—”

“So, what do you mean by that? Does that man make sudden decisions just to upset you? You don’t need to do this, Tracy. I’m here for you; I won’t abandon you. If it’s about money, we have plenty. That’s not the problem,” Cale
