CHAPTER 134: STANDING FOR HER

As I emerged from the room, the heavy scent of despair and pain clinging to my clothes, I saw Edric still waiting for me in the hallway. I tried to walk past him, hoping to avoid any confrontation, but he called out my name.

“Edna, please, wait.”

I sighed, reluctant but curious. I turned to face him, my expression hardening. “What do you want, Edric?”

His eyes, filled with a mix of regret and desperation, met mine. “I’m sorry, Edna. I’m truly sorry for everything I did to you. I was foolish, blind to what truly mattered.”

I remained silent, my gaze unwavering as I waited for him to continue.
