Mark POV:

As soon as I arrived at my office, I was taken aback by the large crowd that had gathered outside. It was quite chaotic and disruptive. Among them, I spotted Dave in the distance, who hurried over to me to explain the situation. It turned out that the source of the commotion was one of my clients, who had come to protest against the high fees I had charged her.

This particular client was a woman whose son was involved in a legal case that I had been handling for her.

Unfortunately, she was having trouble paying the amount of money that I had charged her for my services. It was not uncommon for us to charge high fees for complex cases, and it seemed that this was one of them.

At our law firm, we often charge steep prices depending on the complexity and severity of the case at hand. Despite my client's discontent, I knew that I had provided her with the best legal representation possible and that the fees I had charged were fair and reasonable given the circumstances.

"I need you to leave my office immediately. Why are you here causing a problem?” I shouted at her in anger.

"I have already explained to you several times about the condition of your case," I continued, my voice stern and firm. "If you want your case to be handled well, you need to pay all the necessary fees and follow the required procedures. It's not just about showing up and demanding results. You have to follow the rules like everyone else."

However, the woman refused to listen and became increasingly agitated. She shouted back at me, "If you don't refund my money, I am going to make sure that you rot in jail!" and immediately she rushed towards me, hitting me with her hands. It was an extremely distressing situation.

As soon as I managed to pull away, causing her to lose her balance and fall to the floor. Without wasting any time,

She regained her footing and attempted to launch herself at me again to continue her physical assault, fists raised. In the nick of time, Dave rushed to my aid and grabbed the woman, restraining her from causing further harm.

"Get your hands off me." The woman's voice was loud and fierce as she screamed at Dave. She was hitting him with all her might, but Dave reacted quickly and grabbed hold of her hands to prevent any further physical altercation. Her fists were clenched tightly, and she swung them at him repeatedly in an attempt to break free.

Dave's hands were firm and unyielding as he held onto her wrists. He could feel her struggling against him, her muscles tense with the effort of trying to escape.

Despite the woman's hostility, Dave remained calm and composed.

“Dave, please escort this woman out of my office," I instructed him firmly as I realized that the situation was escalating, feeling angry. Despite my request, the woman continued to struggle and resist in anger, trying to break free from Dave's grip and come after me once more.

As Dave was walking the woman out of my office, she turned back to me and pointed a finger in my direction. "I will make sure that all of you pay for this," she hissed, her voice dripping with venom. Her eyes were narrow and her face was twisted with anger, making it clear that her threat was not an idle one.

I couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. Her words echoed in my mind, and I wondered what she could possibly mean by that.

As I surveyed my surroundings, I noticed that my staff and some clients had stopped what they were doing to observe the commotion that had erupted. Their curious gazes were fixed on the source of the disturbance, causing a small crowd to form around the office.

To regain control of the situation, I raised my voice and commanded everyone to return to their tasks. "Get back to work, everyone!" I shouted, hoping to restore order and prevent any further disruption. With my message delivered,

After the woman had eventually been removed from the office, Dave returned to the office, allowing me to catch my breath and regain my composure. It was a challenging experience, but I was glad that Dave was there to help me.

Dave turned towards me and asked with concern, "Are you okay?" His voice was soft and comforting, putting me at ease. I nodded in response.

Then I quickly retreated to my office and slammed the door shut behind me, feeling a mixture of frustration and embarrassment.

After an hour had passed, a heavy silence hung over the office. Suddenly, there was a sharp knock on the door to my office. When I opened it, to my surprise, I found myself face-to-face with a group of policemen.

As I watched Dave and the other security officers in the office attempt to stop the policemen, I knew that I had to step in to prevent the situation from getting worse. Despite their efforts to prevent the police from entering the office, the police managed to barge their way in.

Without any warning, one of the policemen spoke up: "Mr. Mark Adrian, you are under arrest. Please refrain from saying anything as it will be used against you in the court of law.” The gravity of the situation hit me like a ton of bricks.

Before I could even say anything, one of the police officers had already grabbed me by the arm and forcefully handcuffed me. My heart sank and I felt a mix of fear and confusion as I never thought I would find myself in this situation.

They were accompanied by a woman, who appeared to be the woman I sent out of my office an hour ago in a state of distress and anger, and it was clear from her demeanor that they had come to arrest me.

The office smelled of leather and old wood, a heavy scent of authority. I could feel the weight of my uncle's legacy pressing down on my shoulders

SARAH'S POV: The day before had been a blur of calls, documents, and the ceaseless hum. I didn’t feel like the same person anymore. The timidness that once gripped me had been burned away by the fire of righteous fury.My uncle’s legal team, once arrogant and dismissive, had fired the first volley—a desperate plea for a settlement. I had read their letter once, twice, maybe a dozen times. Each word was a thinly veiled threat wrapped in a mask of concern for “family unity.” But I wasn’t the same person who had bowed to their will in the past. That morning, as I held the letter in my hands, something inside me snapped into place, a final, unyielding decision.“No,” I had whispered, my voice echoing in the silence. “No more.”The battle lines were drawn in earnest. My reply to the settlement offer was curt, clinical—a refusal that left no room for doubt. Barr Lawn understood the stakes. He moved with precision, crafting each counter-response like a scalpel, cutting through the bluster
