"Don't you think you will be hurting her?" I asked him.

Matteo sighed. "I believe she understands that I'll only hurt her when we are together."

As much as I was happy for him, I still could not believe that Lilith was his mate. Of all the women and wolves, even though it was a human, I wondered why he was gifted with someone of the kind he hated—a witch.

"Have you rejected her since you do not want her?"

I was certain that since he didn't want her, the only thing he had to do was reject her.

"No, I haven't."

"Why?"

"I do not want to... I just can't bring myself to reject her." Matteo slurred, crossing his arms over his chest.

At this point, I did not understand Matteo, who was standing right in front of him. This isn't him... he always knew the right decision to make, but right now he is stuck between accepting a woman or rejecting her.
