Ariel told Noah that the taxi was waiting downstairs. Upon hearing this, he got up from his seat, grabbing Hayami's car keys, which he had left on his desk that morning, though she hadn't asked for them.

"Surely she doesn't remember, so she forgets everything."

He said, a little annoyed, as he tucked the keys into his pants. Noah left the office and saw Ariel looking at him, indeed, with some compliment, but he just smiled at her before entering the elevator.

As he went down and left the office, just as Ariel had told him, the taxi was waiting. As he got in, Noah gave the address of the place where he had picked up Hayami the night before.

After a few minutes of driving, Noah arrived at Hayami's car. He got out of the taxi, paid for her ride, walked over to Hayami's car, and put the keys in. As he opened the car, he smelled her scent. Apparently, he liked the scent of perfume, but it was always a soft aroma, not at all overpowering. He sighed, got into the car, and, starting it, headed to the airport where he would wait for his friend, who was already arriving.

The rain began to fall. Hayami, who was working, looked out the window, saw the raindrops falling, and sighed a little. She was already quite recovered from her hangover; her honey-colored eyes with delicate eyeliner had recovered their former state. She got up from her chair to approach the window and folded her hands slightly.

The sound of the elevator opening was noticeable, and the two men got out, laughing a little. Ariel looked at her boss, accompanied by a tall man with intense black eyes, dark brown hair, and light brown skin. He was so attractive that, for a moment, Ariel focused more on the passenger than on her boss.

"We haven't spoken in a thousand years," the man said to Noah.

"True."

Noah replied with a slight smile. They weren't really that close friends; they were the same age, he even studied with him for a while; they were good classmates, nothing more.

Noah smiled at Ariel, but didn't say a word. He and his companion walked toward Hayami's office, knocked, and only heard the voice of the woman who had allowed him to enter. Before entering the office, he spoke to the man.

"I'd like you to meet our sales and commercial director."

"Sounds perfect to me."

The man replied, not so enthusiastically.

As they entered, Hayami was still standing, looking toward the window.

"I'd like you to meet a former classmate."

Hayami turned to see Noah with the supposed former classmate. When her eyes met that man, she felt the ground shake. Her heart raced, immediately thinking that she would never look into those intense black eyes she loved with all her soul again.

"He is..."

"Iván Montenegro."

Hayami said, along with Noah, who looked at her in confusion. The man just stared at her with those beautiful eyes.

"Do you know each other?"

He asked, still confused, why he knew she had gone to another country several years ago.

"Yes."

She gave a curt answer, Ivan.

"Like that? From where?"

Noah asked; this time it was a question of curiosity.

Iván didn't answer anything; he just stared into Hayami's eyes, remembering the shy girl he once knew.

"Let me remember..."

Hayami replied, slowly approaching Ivan in a defiant manner; her gaze was focused on his.

"Ahhhh, yes, I know! Among my memories, there's one where he left me two days before our wedding to marry another woman. Is that it? Or am I mistaken, Ivan?"

Ivan rubbed his neck in discomfort, as well as Noah's expression, which had changed in a second.

"There's an explanation for everything."

"Which one? That you were planning two weddings at the same time, or that you chose money over love... Oh, well, maybe you didn't love me either, you were just looking for the highest bidder, and it clearly wasn't me."

"There are always two sides to a story, Hayami."

Ivan replied seriously; she just grimaced in disgust.

"You look different, now your hair... You've gone back to your natural color."

Noah had thought all this time that her hair was dyed, since neither her parents nor Isabel had that shade of hair.

"This is the real Hayami, the one you left, or rather, the one you freed."

Hayami replied.

The office phone began to ring, interrupting that awkward moment. Hayami approached it, picking it up.

"Tell me, Angie... I'll take the call."

While holding the phone, she looked at the two men staring at her. Noah touched Ivan's shoulder.

"Let's go to my office."

Before leaving, Noah handed Hayami his car keys.

"I already went to get it, it's in the parking lot."

"Uhh, mmm. Okay... Thanks."

She answered, still holding the phone receiver.

They both left Hayami's office; she hung up the phone, leaving Angelica on the other end, a little confused by her boss's words, as she was only calling to remind him about signing some papers.

Hayami sighed and returned to her chair, leaned her head on the desk, tapped it a few times, lifted her head slightly, and looked at her watch. She picked up her phone again, finding Angelica's voice.

"Please cancel all my appointments today."

"Yes, whatever you say."

Hanging up, she searched between her purse and her cell phone, where she was persistently looking for Carolina's contact information.

"Hey! Until I hear from you."

Carolina answered from the other side.

"Can we go out today?"

"Sure! I'm feeling better now."

Carolina replied cheerfully.

"I'll pick you up in two hours."

"But it's still 2:00 in the afternoon, I thought it would be at night."

"I need to go out, let's get something. Okay?"

"Okay, then I'll see you in two hours."

"Okay."

Hayami hung up her phone and organized her things to leave the office. She looked at Angelica and stopped in front of her.

"If you want, you can go now," Hayami said.

"Oh, okay," she replied with a smile.

Hayami walked a few steps, trying not to look back at the office across the hall. She was just pressing the elevator button when she returned to Angelica.

Angelica looked at her strangely.

"Hello?"

"Do you want to go out with me?"

Angelica blushed.

"Well, with a friend, let's have fun."

"It's just that I..."

"Come on! Let's go!! I won't take no for an answer."

"Uh, okay."

Hayami smiled, grabbed a pen and a piece of paper, and gave them to Angelica.

"Write down your address; I'll come get you in two hours. Is that okay?"

"Sure."

Angélica replied, a little hesitantly.

Angélica wrote her address on the piece of paper, handing it to Hayami, who just smiled.

"Perfect, see you later."

Hayami returned to the elevator. Angelica watched her get into it, biting her lip slightly. Her gaze became lost.
