Chapter 3

**Damon's POV**

I slowly walked to where Kiara stood, I stopped right in front of her, my eyes boring into hers. I guess she felt it too, that she couldn't feel the mate bond, the look in her eyes were one of fear.

If I hadn't known about her betrayal, I would have been hurt by this, I would have been hurt by the fact that she's no longer my mate. But after what she's done, I feel nothing in my heart but hatred, pain and anger and it was all directed towards her and Lucas, my so called brother.

"What's wrong brother? You can't looking at your mate," Lucas teased.

I turned to look at him, and he got startled by the anger which was evident on my face.

"D Damon," Kiara called.

She slowly turned to me face her.

I roughly brushed her hand off me, her touch irritates me.

"The Luna ceremony will not hold," I said with a loud voice, still staring at Kiara.

There was a loud gasp from the crowd and the whole pack began to murmur.

"Silence!!"

"The Luna ceremony will not hold, this is not my mate, she's not your Luna, now all of you return to your home this instance!!" I ordered. My voice held so much undeniable authority.

The pack bowed in respect before leaving.

Lucas waited till everyone was gone before speaking up.

"What's this Damon? What's the meaning of this? This is pure madness!! Kiara is your mate and you have just refused to crown her? She's the Luna of this pack!! You have to crown her!" Lucas said in rage.

I swiftly turned to face him and I grabbed his neck.

"Damon!!" Kiara screamed in shock.

"That's Alpha to you," I seethed.

"Just because you're my brother doesn't give you the right to disrespect me, watch your tongue and know your place, never forget your place and don't ever cross your limit," I growled.

"Damon! Let him go, what are you doing? He's your brother!!" Kiara yelled.

Lucas tapped on my hand, begging to let go, I felt like choking him to death at that moment, I was literally trying to hold back my wolf from taking control and tearing him into pieces.

I roughly let go of him and he fell to the floor, gasping for breath.

"The next time you make a mistake like this then I swear I'll punish you severely that you'll even have to beg for death but it won't come,"

I turned to face Kiara.

"And that's Alpha to you, not Damon," I said before leaving.

I got to the entrance of my lodge and I turned to look at them.

I saw Kiara rushed to Damon and was tending to his neck, the sight alone infuriates me.

I let out a low dangerous growl before going inside, slamming the door behind me.

**Lucas POV**

"Damn it!"

"What has gotten into Damon?" I asked as I paced around my room, boiling with rage.

"I don't know Lucas, he has suddenly changed, this is not the Damon we know," Kiara replied.

"Do you think he's found out about us?" She added.

I looked at her for sometime and it was also a possibility, but that can't happen, Damon can't know about us, I mean, who wants to tell him? Only I and Kiara knows about us.

"That's not possible Kiara, There's no way on earth Damon would find out about us, who wants to tell him anyways? It's not it, there's something else, but I just can't tell what it is," I said.

My head was literally spinning, what could be the reason for Damon's sudden change?

"Lucas," Kiara called softly.

"What's it?"

"There's something else," She said, toying with her fingers.

"What do you mean?"

"The thing is, Damon wasn't joking or lying about me not being the Luna,"

"What do you mean Kiara?" I questioned in confusion.

"I don't know what happened Lucas but I can't feel the mate bond anymore and you know too well what this means,"

"That's impossible! What the hell are you saying! How's that even possible? You two are mated to each other and now you can't feel the bond?"

"Yes Lucas, I don't know what happened, something is definitely wrong somehow, I haven't heard of something like this before. This must be the reason for Damon's sudden change,"

"What the hell is going on here!!"

I ruffled my hair in frustration, first Damon is acting weird and now this!

"What kind of game is fate playing?" I asked myself.

"Or is this the goddess plan?"

Too many questions and I don't know the answer.

"You'll have to go and talk to Damon Kiara,"

"What!! Are you crazy or something? You saw his behavior back there and you still want me to go to him. If this is a joke then it's clearly not funny, it's lame,"

I sighed in frustration.

"I can't go to him Lucas, in fact, you should be the one to go to him, after all, he also behaved badly with you, so you should go talk to him, not me," Kiara stated.

"You must be crazy, was I the only one who he he treated wrongly? He refused to crown you the Luna and you two are no longer mates, don't you think you also need to talk to him and seek answers? Huh,"

Kiara wrapped her hands around my neck, pulling me closer to her.
