Chapter 7

***Author's POV***

The next morning the soldiers of the pack were on their patrol in the forest trying to keep their eyes for any uninvited guests considering the last incident that took place some days ago which got Alpha Damon very angry.

Since then the security has been very tight.

Two of the guards while monitoring the north gate stumbled upon a middle aged woman who was nearly Frozen to death.

They at first thought it was a blanket covering a piece of rocks till it started moving .

When they opened the blanket it was a woman they saw beneath it. She looked pale and weak and looked like she needed help..

She was very pale and her face was fairly wriggly like an old woman's and she wouldn't pass her 30s but yet she was already wrinkly.

She was obviously journeying till she got tired and decided to spend a night there.

She looks so pale and like any small breeze will blow her away.

The first guard felt pitiful and wanted to take her back to their pack.

" What are you trying to do? Are you trying to help her right now? It is so dangerous and we can not afford to have someone from the opposing team enter our pack and apparently we don't know who is who.

I am not saying it is bad to help her but as at now we can't trust anyone we are really Keen on security and I am pretty sure you are aware of what happened last time and I am sure you heard how angry the Alpha is so imagine what it would be like if things don't go as innocent as you think it will.

The Alpha would have you beheaded.

We can just find someone sleeping here and what would someone like her so pale and tired walk all the way to this part of the forest? You are not reasoning well, let's just leave her like we didn't see her and hope someone else finds her or she gathers enough strength and lives here herself. Don't be the foolish one to bring her in." The second guard said not to fall for Elena's parade.

"Why are you talking like this? Your mind is just narrowing to unnecessary places. None of what you are saying will stop being negative. It will all depend on how well we need to help her." The first guard said still persistent in helping Elena.

" Like you don't have feelings at all, as you can see she's really desperate for help and is not like people to take her in without permission. I'm going to go and tell Alpha Damon about it and then he can see her himself and decide if she can stay or leave but I will definitely not leave her here alone for whatever fate has to offer." The guard the guards said helping her up.

"Thank you so much sir, may the moon goddess reward you dearly for not leaving me here and deciding to help me. I will forever be grateful to your kind gestures." Elena said in a different accent.

"It's no problem ma'am." The guard said, leading her to the main gate.

"Whatever but you were on this alone. I am not part of this helping scenario if anything happens you bear the wrath of the Alpha alone." He scoffed and continued his patrol while the other guard helped Elena to the Alpha.

The guard knocked on the Alpha's door and Dorman, who was really in pain, was really cranky.

"Go away," he said plainly.

"But sir, it's very urgent we found someone."

"Come in." Darmon said plainly.

The guard came in.

"Sir we found this woman out in the street, she was weak and tired so I felt pity for her and decided to get to you if she can probably stay here till she regains her strength." The guard said, bowing his head while Elena kept shivering.

Damon looked at Elena with an uncertain look.

"Where did you say you found her?" He asked the guard.

"Outside the north gate my Lord." The guard answered almost immediately.

"How did you make it to the north gate because you look like you can't even walk for 5 minutes straight." He inquired about Elena.

" I have been walking for days. My Lord and I travel a little faster when I am in my wolf form Alpha. '' She said nearly collapsing, all still under her facade.

"Okay and what's your name?"

"My name is Elena." She answered immediately.

"From which pack?" He finally asked.

Elena knowing she couldn't mention the name of her pack else she would blow her cover and If she lied with the name of another pack she would be taken there and the pack would deny her then that would mean she has failed Alpha Lucien and he would kill her family.

She kept on thinking of an excuse to give him because both the Alpha and the guard were staring at her for an answer.

Sweat started oozing from her face.

"Answer me !" Alpha Darmon yelled out because he was already getting quite pissed.

Then Elena started coughing so hard.

"Sir I told you she's very sick, let's take her to the guest house and there she shook her warm." The guard said helping her stand well.

" Fine, take her to the guest house and Tomorrow when she's well rested she will answer my question. We are presently not accepting any visitors. " He said In a somewhat cold voice which shocked Elena because it meant he was only giving her the grace of the day to stay in their pack.

She couldn't make do with that and she can't afford to fail this mission.

The guard took Elena out to the guest room and they left Alpha Darmon's presence.

Alpha Darmon went back to thinking about his problem about the dagger and how he could get it out because it was still very painful.
