STEFAN’S POV

I could feel how frightened she was, especially that she didn’t mind to be in my arms, on the bed. I was a man and we weren’t married in this world. She wouldn’t want to do this, in her right senses. Anyways, she already confessed to me that she loved me, so it explains why it also seemed easy for her to sleep in my arms.

After making sure that she was asleep, I withdrew myself from her, slowly, to check her room out. I got outside and when I got to the room, I scrutinized it, but didn’t find anyone there, neither did I see any sign of struggle between two people. I also checked the bathroom and saw no one there. What could have happened?

It was even baffling, more, as there was no evidence of what happened. But since she felt safe with me, it was better to be fine with what she wanted. If she was in so much trouble, she could have told me. It could even be that she had a nightmare or sort, but that certainly wasn’t it, because her hair and skin was wet like she had just

MELISSA’S POVWe went to the car and then before Stefan started the car, he turned to me and looked at me out of concern.“Is there anything wrong?” I asked, out of curiosity.“I should be asking you. What’s bothering you, Melissa? I know something is wrong, for you to come all the way from the hotel, to meet me, while I am busy and if you do not remember, you slept beside me, on the same bed. I know it is something really big. Talk to me.” Stefan said, looking really concerned.I heaved a sigh, then looked at him.“I’m sorry if I inconvenienced you in any way. It’s just… Just a haunting memory, which I do not want to talk about.” I said, hoping he would understand, because I did not want to, in any way, remember it anymore.“Alright, I understand. So, what do you say, if we go to the beach?” He suggested, with a smile that changed the gloomy mood into a bright one.“Sure. I’m in for it. But I am going to pay.” I said, with a smile on my face.“Alright, if you say so.”Then he drove u

MELISSA’S POVI looked back at him and tried to compose myself as I didn’t want to come off as nervous. Not to a man as observant as he.“Uhm… what do you mean by that?” I asked, trying to act like I didn’t understand what he meant.“You didn’t tell me that you were going on a business trip with the boss. Although, I understand that his was more important than our spa plan, but I thought I was going to be told about this.” Edward said, with a poker expression.“I apologize about that, but it ought to be confidential. It’s business and I was trusted with that.” I backed myself up, hoping that card would work on him.“Hmm. I understand. I’m sorry I didn’t think of it that way.” “It’s fine.”“So, I’m certain there is a lot you have to say. How was your stay, there?” He asked, with keen interest and a smile on his face.I told him all about the nice things that happened, but I skipped the part where it would seem like Stefan was being too favorable, or start coming off as suspicious. MELISSA’S POV.I had a nice day with Edward and to be honest, I never thought that he was capable of making me laugh to that extent. At least, my time with him made me forget the way I lashed out on Stefan. Although, I felt bad afterwards, but it was better that way, so he would finally know his place and wouldn’t keep misunderstanding me.Also, I didn’t want that special treatment from him anymore. It would only make petty people like Alicia to keep ruining my day. I applied for a job at Stefan’s Design Company, only because I wanted to upgrade my life and also work peacefully, but because of Stefan, I got an enemy in less than a week.I rolled on my bed and put off the lamp light and closed my eyes, waiting for mother sleep to steal me away.~The next day, I got ready for work and hurriedly took a cab to work, because I was running late. Fortunately, I was able to get to work, a few minutes earlier than the time I would be late. I got to the office and greeted everyone, then sank

MELISSA’S POVAlicia was just an expert in being a pain in the neck. She had made me angry and there was no use for the cola, anymore. I decided to throw it in the dumpster, but just before I could throw it, I saw Edward, walking towards this place.“Great.” I said, under my breath.I didn’t want him to notice that I was annoyed, because he was going to guess that I was, if I threw the cola away. “Hey, Melissa. How are you doing?” He asked as he ordered his drink.“I’m good.” I said as I opened the can and then gulped my drink.Unfortunately, I choked on it and coughed really hard.“Hey, are you okay?” Edward asked as he moved closer to me and collected my drink.I coughed again as it was itching my throat and then I exhaled.“I’m fine. Sorry I startled you.”“No, it’s fine.” He said, looking at me, with concern.“So, who got you angry?” “No one. I didn’t say I was.” I said, trying to take the suspicion off me.“Well, I know you are annoyed. And I will like to advise you not to thin

STEFAN’S POV.I was in my car, staring outside, although, the window was shut tight.“Sir, I have successfully cancelled your appointments, today.” My secretary said.“Alright. Turn on the music, but I need it on a low volume.” I instructed as I didn’t take my gaze off the window.~Flashback~I was annoyed with the way Melissa treated me, and if she didn’t want me to treat her like she is special to me, anymore, then so be it. I was going to show her how empty she was going to feel, when I stop indulging myself in her life. Then I thought of a way to start doing that. An obvious way to make her heart pinch at her, to let her know that she has done wrong for lashing out at me.Also, I needed to take a break from the hurt my heart went through and I needed a vacation, to settle things and set my head straight. Then an idea sprang up. I stood up and went straight to Team A’s office. When I got there, I stole a glance at Melissa who was working. I didn’t know that I would feel less deter

MELISSA’S POV.It was evening already and I could hear the crickets and all other tiny creatures whose sound were loud enough to hear. “So, Melissa, what was with the cold formality you gave Mr. Stefan? Did something happen between you two?” Layla asked, out of curiosity.I sighed. “There is absolutely nothing wrong. I am doing just the right thing.”“Yeah, you are. Except for the fact that you are being cold.” Layla rolled her eyes.“Don’t try to make me feel like I am the bad man, here.” I said, sharply.“Well, you are. He has been a nice boss to you. Saved you from possible death and helped you many times. You even modelled for a great company. All these were possible, because of him.”“And I never begged him to do that, Layla. I want to earn my recognition and my money, because of my hard work and talent. Not because there is someone influencing that to come my way. I want to stop owing him favors, okay!”“Look. In this life, we all need connections. I mean, big people who will

I could feel that there was something different about the atmosphere. It felt as if I wasn’t alone, right where I was.Was one of my nightmares coming to a reality? I wouldn’t be able to bear that. Why did I come over here? Suddenly, I could see animal-like figures coming out of the mist that was disappearing as each moment passed by. And to my horror, they were wolves. I wanted to run, but I was surrounded by them all and they were certainly up to twelve, with different eye colors. Then they began to howl loudly and it got me frightened. Were they calling the other wolves? Was I more than enough for the twelve of them? I was beyond terrified. I had never seen anything like it before. The sight of twelve huge wolves surro

He seemed to me like a pervert the first time he tried to come close to me and seeing that he was nice to me and all, could it still be that he thought I was Jana or because I just looked like her.“You don’t tell me who or what you are.” Their Alpha said as he walked around me.Then he moved closer to me and sniffed my neck and my ears, then he raised his hand, with his claws, out and he was about to strike me.“No, please don’t.” I pleaded in tears.Just before he could strike, a commotion broke out. Then I looked around at what was happening. It was Stefan, killing them all. Then he dragged the Alpha.“Who sent you!” Stefan growled out loud. The Alpha laughed. “Isn’t i

I was certain he was doing well as he was a good leader and was capable of leading the people well. As soon as I got to the company, I ensured I put on the cap I brought along with me, so I won’t be recognized by anyone here. What explanation would I give them all if they caught sight of me? STEFAN'S POV.It was a bright new day and this day felt different. Of course, it was the day to determine if we were going to win this war or not. But I had faith that our fate had something better in store for us all."It's time, right?" Melissa asked."Yes." Then I turned to the three warriors, Diego and Natasha. "We might face fear, hurdles and problems that seem bigger than us all, but we'll never back out until we win. Are we ready to fight this war!" I voiced out in confidence."Yes, Alpha!" They all chorused and then we headed out of the witches' kingdom back to the woods. While walking in the woods, Diego spoke up."The witches were really selfish this time, apart from giving Luna Jana back to us. If they couldn't fight the war, they could have at least, given us something which could be helpful to us." Diego pouted."It's fine, Diego. I believe we will win this war." "With or without them." Natasha added, with confidence."That's the spirit! It's time to show Valon the grea

MELISSA'S POV.I was in the room which they had kept me in, with my wounds magically healed. I was thankful that the witches had saved me, but I feared that they would be just another enemy whom I had gotten into their hands.Suddenly, the door creaked open and I noticed one of the witches at the door."You need to come out. Our Queen has asked for your presence." She informed me, without a smile."Do you think she wants to strike me dead or so something really nasty to me?" I asked, out of anxiousness."Please come out before things get nasty." She replied. Why were they so uptight here? I guess that's why they still stood strong, because they didn't allow any slight weakness to destroy them. They were queens over their weaknesses.I slowly followed her out to her meeting hall and to my surprise, I noticed Stefan, standing right before her."Melissa." He called out to me, looking touched."Stefan." I called out to him, softly as I covered my mouth with my hand.I couldn't believe it

STEFAN’S POV.It was a new day, and finally, we had gotten to the witches’ kingdom. I was glad that at least up to seven men made it with me and I hoped that what we came here for was going to be successful and not abortive. The witches were hard to please and to plead to them was a really difficult thing to do with a low chance of being helped. I was lucky that I was helped many years ago without too much effort and I hoped it would be the same, this time, because we didn’t have much time to waste anymore. We got to the large gate and we were stopped by two of their female guards. As fragile as they looked, they were really powerful. One could sense power going through their veins and you wouldn’t want to upset them.“Please allow us in. We have an important matter to talk about to your Queen.” I pleaded.“Our Queen do not want us to allow people in, so you have to go back.” One of them said, with a straight face.“Please you have to allow us in. We came all the way here and tried o

She charged towards us and in one strike, she killed three men and then slashed Diego’s skin.“Aaargh!” Diego groaned in pain as he dropped down to the floor.“Her slashes are painful. The only way to kill her is to aim our claws at her heart.” Natasha informed me.“Alright, I guess we have to watch her moves closely as she is really fast.”“Exactly!”I nodded and Natasha and I charged towards her and we were able to avoid her claws. We successfully darted our claws at her heart and she became weak and fell to the ground and was dying slowly.“I think we should stop digging into her heart. Probably we can give her a chance or sort. She might agree to join us in our journey.”“No, Stefan. Do not be in a hurry to gain more people to fight with you. Her kind are deceptive in nature and the second chance you give her, she will ensure she kills you and trust me, that sec

Then a thought came to me and Immediately, I put in action.Any wrong move or wrong act could take away the bit of trust he had given me today. I quickly sat on his bed and crossed my legs, then I tried to calm myself so I do not look suspicious.“Phew! Valon walked into the room and his expression showed how surprised he was to see me.“What are you doing here, Jana? What do you want or should I say to what pleasure do I owe your presence?” He inquired while he stood, gazing at me.“I came to ask for a favor.”“What favor is that?” He asked, with his furrowed brows, becoming more obvious.“I want a personal guard. In fact, I need a personal guard. Ever since you gave me one just to tes

Well, if you do, where is it?” I asked, hoping he was going to tell me without I having to go through any sort of stress.“Not so fast, Luna.”“What do you want?” I let out my frustration.“I will tell you all you need to know if you are able to persuade Valon to set me free from the dungeon.”“But you do not deserve to be there. I also stared at the crowd and I could feel the atmosphere was tense around them as well, then I looked back at Theodore who was acting foolish. To me, he was just like a boy whom I needed to correct and knock some senses into his head.“I know very well that you are mocking me and if I were to look at our age, I am very much older than you. I am not interested in bragging about how I could knock you out in a second.” I said to him and he snickered. Then I turned to the crowd.“You all are wasting the strength and the time that is needed for more important things tha
