Forty-three

MELISSA’S POV

.

I stood up as my hair was moving in the rhythm of the merciless wind.

“What’s going on?” I muttered under my breath as I tried to shield my face, from being a victim of any sharp object.

Suddenly, everything went calm, but it was still dark and cold. I could feel that there was something different about the atmosphere. It felt as if I wasn’t alone, right where I was.

Was one of my nightmares coming to a reality? I wouldn’t be able to bear that. Why did I come over here? Suddenly, I could see animal-like figures coming out of the mist that was disappearing as each moment passed by. And to my horror, they were wolves. I wanted to run, but I was surrounded by them all and they were certainly up to twelve, with different eye colors.

Then they began to howl loudly and it got me frightened. Were they calling the other wolves? Was I more than enough for the twelve of them?
