MELISSA’S POV

I gulped down my saliva in fear. Surrendering right now was a theory I had to try out, risking my life. I really hoped that I was right, as I didn't want to die right here, without living the kind of life I want. And I really had to be certain if Stefan was okay.

Then I laid down on the floor, waiting for him to charge at me. He laughed and came at me with full force. It was as if my heart was going to come out of my chest with the way it was beating fast.

“I know you aren't a murderer.” I yelled, then he stopped in his tracks.

“What do you mean?” He asked with a voice that sounded curious.

“I believe you didn't kill the man. The world is cruel and dirty and I know that. That is the reason I understand you. And I have someone I need to be certain he is okay. Help me, so I won't end up dying without fulfilling all I have ever wished for.” I said, softly.
