Seventy-one

MELISSA’S POV

“How’s that possible?” I asked, with my eyes, widened in shock.

“You picked the wrong iced cream.” The third ghost said.

“But you passed two tasks out of three, so you are now free to leave this world. Take the five coins you need for the wandering soul.” The first ghost said as he handed over the five coins to me.

I collected it with so much joy in my heart and ran out of the ghost house, seeing as the third ghost seemed displeased with me. It wasn’t my fault, anyways as she was being too tricky. I was just grateful that I got lucky with the second task which looked both scary and proved difficult.

I ran to the portal and there it was, wide open for me. The lady must have known that I was on my way. I jumped into the portal and when I got to the garden, I looked around for Stefan, but he was nowhere to be found and I became worried.

“Hello? Anyone here?” I called out to whoever could be in the garden.
