Chapter 3

She fixed her gaze on him, she was stupefied, and it hurt even more when he did not feel remorseful.

“This is not you speaking, I am sure of that, I believe you must be scared of what your dad might think if he finds out we are mates, after all, I am a nobody,” Odessa shook her head frantically, she did not want to believe that he could utter such words.

“I am not doing this because I am scared of my dad; I am doing it willingly. I do not want you, and neither do I want the baby in your womb,” he spoke harshly to her.

Odessa did not know how long she could take his insults, but she was breaking down. It felt as though her soul was ripped out from her heart.

“No, do not say that, I do not believe you,” Odessa cried out while covering her ears. She would rather not listen to his hurtful words.

“Odessa, you have to believe me; this is what I have decided: abort the child; I would rather not find out you still kept the child,” he said his piece before walking away, not caring how much his words scathed her heart.

Odessa watched him walk away, and she felt helpless. She could not do anything to stop him, she felt weak and vulnerable.

She felt a sharp pain in her stomach, which caused her to collapse to the floor; she held her stomach as she rolled her around on the floor; she was writhing in pain.

She stayed there for a while, and she only stood up when she felt the pain in her stomach had subsided.

Likewise, she walked around the garden aimlessly, her hands were around her stomach protectively. This was an instinctual feeling for her.

She had already grown attached to the baby, even if it was still a little fetus, she was already anticipating the arrival of the baby.

Now, she was asked to abort her flesh and blood, she was about to go crazy. She could not do it.

'Odessa, you have to do something; your child should stay with you,' she suddenly had an epiphany as she mused to herself.

She exhaled before leaving the garden. She was not going to take it lying. She might be a maid, but she was an expecting mother, and she would not allow her child to be killed.

She would rather they killed her than she killed her child with her hands.

'What do you plan to do?' Her wolf communicated with her for the first time after the ordeal.

'Meet with the council; I will plead my case; I can't let my kid get killed,' Odessa tried to sound strong, but she failed thoroughly, as one could hear her unsteady voice.

'I hope everything works out well,' her wolf worriedly commented.

She also felt the same way as she took slow steps toward the council room. She did not know if what she was about to do was right, but she was well aware of the fact that she could not let her kid die.

She walked to the council room and heaved a sigh before raising her hand to knock on the door. She heard a muffled 'come in,' and she walked in.

She bowed once she was in the midst of the elders. She even noticed the king, father of her previous mate.

“Who are you?” The king of the Supreme Sky Pack questioned, and she shivered in return.

His aura was something Victor could not match up with, and therefore, her knees felt weak, and she almost slumped to the floor, but she stood her ground.

“I have come to inform his majesty and the council members of an issue,” she lowered her head as she gave a reply. She could sense a piercing gaze on her, but she did not know who it was from.

“Speak!” The king ordered.

She took a deep breath, exhaled, “I am pregnant for the crown prince,” she finally let out the truth.

Not only that, but she informed them, “I am also the crown Prince's mate, but sadly, I was just rejected.”

After saying her piece, the silent atmosphere was abuzz with discussion as every member of the council talked among themselves.

She could hear their words, and she swallowed. She did not know if she had done the right thing, but she only hoped they would spare her life, and also that of her kid.

“Silence!” Kaiden, the king yelled with authority and everyone kept quiet.

“Young lady, raise your head and look at me,” he ordered.

Odessa raised her head, and she stared straight into the king's eyes from where she stood, she was stunned by the look in his eyes.

She did not know if her eyes were playing tricks on her, but she was able to see hurt in the king's eyes.

She secretly wiped her eyes, when she opened her eyes once again, she did not see the emotion in his eyes anymore, and she was convinced she was seeing things.

“Young lady, are you sure of what you are saying? If I find out that you slandered the crown prince, I believe you know the consequences,” Kaiden mentioned to her as he squinted at her.

To Odessa, it felt like his gaze was biting her, and she cowered slightly, evident with how she took a few steps back.

'You do not need to be scared Odessa, you are not in the wrong here, so there is no need to fear,' she talked to herself in her mind, and therefore she confidently raised her head as she replied,

“I am sure of what I am saying, Your Majesty, there are no traces of scandal, you can call the Crown Prince to confirm if what I had said is the truth, and if it turns out it is false,

Your Majesty and the council can deal with me anyway they deem fit,” Odessa was that confident as her eyes darted around the council room, taking note of every member's expression.
