AUTHOR’S POV

I was so wrong. My conclusion could not have been more far off than it actually was.

This training was a nightmare. Sunitra was the most strict teacher I'd ever met. It was as if the woman wanted me to master the entire element in a span of one day.

Perhaps that was her goal, as she stood to gain something from that accomplishment.

“Hold it in.” Sunitra commanded, her voice as cold and firm as ice; her eyes were shut tight as a huge bubble of water enveloped her small frame in a yoga position. I glared at the serene woman inside the bubble and sent the flame I had been trying to suppress straight for her.

The fiery orb collided the large water barrier and turned into a huge volume of steam. The water barrier stood strong anyway, and Sunitra’s eyes opened, latching onto me with a mix of disappointment and expectation.

“You were supposed to hold it in?”

“It’s not that easy. You're a water fae, and I'm weilding fire. The heat radiating from it is unbearable.”
