AUTHOR’S POVI was so wrong. My conclusion could not have been more far off than it actually was. This training was a nightmare. Sunitra was the most strict teacher I'd ever met. It was as if the woman wanted me to master the entire element in a span of one day. Perhaps that was her goal, as she stood to gain something from that accomplishment.“Hold it in.” Sunitra commanded, her voice as cold and firm as ice; her eyes were shut tight as a huge bubble of water enveloped her small frame in a yoga position. I glared at the serene woman inside the bubble and sent the flame I had been trying to suppress straight for her. The fiery orb collided the large water barrier and turned into a huge volume of steam. The water barrier stood strong anyway, and Sunitra’s eyes opened, latching onto me with a mix of disappointment and expectation.“You were supposed to hold it in?” “It’s not that easy. You're a water fae, and I'm weilding fire. The heat radiating from it is unbearable.” “Water com
AUTHOR’S POV“Wow, you got here early. My goodness boy, what have I done to deserve such an hardworking apprentice like you?” Old man, Richie leaned on his cane as he waved his hand around, praising Ceasar. “My mother taught me that a man who is diligent in his business receives the goodness of the goddess. Opening the ship early would attract a lot of customers.” Caesar explained with a smile as he prepped the boards for another set of cutting and marinating fishes. Richie laughed, “Oh boy, I don't doubt that for a second but I think those ladies are here for you and your skills and not my fish. I'm sure if they had the opportunity to watch and not buy anything, they would gladly jump on it.” “You flater me too much, Sir.” Caesar sailed and continued cleaning the boards and knives. That morning was truly blessed as the sop was more bubbly than usual. Richie had to join in the marinating if the fish and frying at the same time. At a point, some set of people placed down their orde
AUTHOR’S POV The warm morning sun rose brightly over the Kingdom, casting a golden hue on the inhabitants of the pack as they bustled about; everyone was doing one thing or the other. Banners, balloons, and ribbons with vibrant colors were everywhere, and every pillar and building was designed with vibrant colors. Even the flowers looked more alive today; the sound of music echoed everywhere, and people chit-chatted while they worked. The atmosphere was cheerful and lively, a very noticeable contrast to their regular days of work. All this enjoyment was all for one reason. The King’s Birthday. No realm in the world loved celebrating their birthday more than the Lycan realm. Huge festivities were always thrown a week prior to the event, dignitaries and wealthy influential people were always invited, and the entire pack would drink and be merry. Still, every ten decades, the King’s birthday would be celebrated by the inhabitants of his pack and his realm, no outsiders were allowed.
AUTHOR’S POVThe party kick-started in the evening in the center of the town square; excitement buzzed through the realm as people walked about dressed in different attires with masks of feathers to add an aura of mystery to the theme of the party. Odessa and Sunitra sat together to plan the day's whole event. The first event of the day was the outdoor party at the town square. Only people interested would attend as the actual party wouldn't start until late at night in the huge ballroom of the castle. The inhabitants of the pack arrived and donned different jewelry and exquisite masks. The whole outdoor area was bustling with colors of different shades and vibrance. Melodious notes of the music band filtered through the air as some of the members moved around with plates in their hands, filled partially with the first course of the day. After eating, some of the children held each other’s hands and began to lead a dance around the stage. Some willing adults joined in, too; the ban
AUTHOR’S POVOdessa didn't have the time to talk to Agatha, but she watched her all through the night. She wanted to know why the Female Alpha stood up for her when no one else did. One time, their gaze met, and Agatha gave her a slight nod in greeting.“Is everything okay? You've been watching her ever since you came back here.” Sunitra pointed out, staring at her in concern, “Does her presence bother you?” Odessa was quick to shake her head, “No, no. It's not that. It's just that she stood up for me and openly insulted Victor. I'm intrigued, and I want to know who she is. Not many can insult Victor and get away with it. There's also the fact that the King used the word ‘please’ for her publicly. I know my mate, and he's the most arrogant man I have ever met. Which can only mean one thing: that she's special.” “Well, what are you still doing here? Go and talk to her. She might be your newest ally.” Odessa looked unsure and told Sunitra that she would talk to Agatha after the part
AUTHOR’S POV Odessa looked down at the woman holding her legs, a sense of familiarity struck her as she scrutinized Sinai’s face. What is she doing here?...The princess thought as she stared at the woman kneeling before her. “Please, Princess. Spare my children, I beg of you. They are innocent in this.” Odessa suddenly turned to look at Caesar and scowled, “Is this your plan?” Caesar had the decency to look taken back, “My plan? Of course not, Your Highness. I would never stoop as low as that. Children are the heritage of the goddess. Priced jewels that should never be hurt…not even for anyone’s personal desires.” His gaze was stern and firm as he stared at her, insinuating that Odessa did otherwise. “Did he put you up to this?” Odessa asked Sinai, pointing at Caesar. Sinai spared a glance at Caesar and shook her head. “I refuse to believe that you're acting alone, especially today of all days.” “This is not an act, Princess Odessa. My children have gone missing, reall
AUTHOR’S POV Kaiden dispatched a set of soldiers to search for the kids. “Leave no stone unturned. I want those pups found and brought to me.” Once the soldiers left, Kaiden ordered Sinai to go home and wait for her children and gave order for the party to continue. “But father, what of the accident that happened during the festival? Or didn't you hear Caesar announce to everyone here that Odessa is the reason behind it?” Victor frowned, staring at his father with suspicion. Victor might not like his father, but he knew the kind of man he was. He would never stand for injustice or any vile act. And an accusation like that would not pass by without further investigation. “Don't use that tone with me young man. I heard what Caesar said and an investigation will be conducted. Till then–” “I apologize for interrupting, Your Majesty. But I've already performed my investigation and I also have concrete evidence as well.” Everyone was suddenly eager to listen to what he had to s
AUTHOR’S POVCaesar gritted as he felt the searing pain in his arm, his blood sizzled as the flames licked against his skin, frying them, but rhat was where it stopped. The pain didn't go beyond that and Caesar looked up wondering why. Odessa's hand dropped as the fire died out, the ones in her eyes went out as well, revealing her baby blue eyes. She turned to Sunitra and the other princess shook her head, indicating that she was fine. No one heard. She's safe, the chaos was too loud… Kaiden said through their bond-link and Odessa breathed out with relief. She silently chastised Sunitra with her gaze and the latter chuckled softly, “He's the only way we can prove your innocence. Let me handle this.” Sunitra walked forward, moving towards Caesar, her gaze stern as she glared at him with the aura of one in authority. “You made a stupid move that could have cost you your life. You slandered the innocent and made her out to be a criminal, a monster when in reality, it's you.” “Your
