"I am sorry, Alpha."She beckoned on Marco's wolf, gripping his hand in an attempt to loosen his grip. Her face was already turning blue from the lack of oxygen.

"Please," she whimpered when his grip didn't loosen on her neck.

"Good, don't test me again."He said as he flung her to the wall. Her back hit the wall as she crumbled into a heap on the ground.

Luna Silver's eyes welled with tears as she watched her husband's retreating figure as he walked away.

She was not going to stand by and watch him treat her only child this way. She wondered if things would have been different if she didn't tell him what the witch told her about their child. She wished she knew a way she could help Scarlett take him down, but that would be impossible.

The reason Alpha Marco has stayed in power for so long was because of his strength and wits when it comes to fighting.

Her nose scrunched up as she tried to think of ways to help her daughter, if she was going to be the next Alpha then it was time they get to work. Taking note of the look on her husband's face as he squeezed her neck and demanded submission.

She vowed to make him pay.

The days went by without any fuss, for once Scarlett was glad to have peace in the pack house. The looks her mother has been giving her gave her some concerns.

Scarlett knew her mother was up to something but she couldn't place a finger on it. She hoped that whatever it was, it wouldn't incur her father's wrath.

She wished she dared to do her mother's wishes but maybe she was right, she was weak. She didn't have what it took to become the next Alpha. She was never going to be her father's daughter. Just some weak wolf.

Scarlett knew it was better to keep a low profile and bury her head in books than stand in her mother's way.

She lifted her head when a knock landed on her door, and her mother's head poked through.

"Scarlett, I need help serving your father."Her mother said casually.

She searched for signs of maliciousness on her mother's face but Luna Walker was either good at poker or she was innocent. That feeling nagged her at the back of her neck but she kept her mouth shut.

"Get up," her mother ordered.

Scarlett obeyed quickly, carrying the tray the mother held in her hands. She walked slowly to her father's study, a little fearful that he won't like her serving him.

Scarlett swallowed her fear as her mother encouraged her to walk faster before it gets cold, so she won't get punished. She knocked on her father's door and waited for his invitation.

"Come in," Marco bellowed.

Scarlett said a quick prayer before pushing the door open, her father's head snapped up immediately as soon as the tea reached his nose.

"What. Is. That?"He asked, pronouncing each word carefully as he glared at her.

She bowed her head immediately. "Sorry father, I will go warm it up."She said quickly.

In a flash, her father towered over her. His fangs bared out for her to see.

Scarlett started trembling, she didn't know why he was so angry.

"You dare to poison me?"He asked,

"What? No!"She said. Her eyes dart out for a means to escape.

"I smell wolfsbane."Her father sniffed the air.

Her eyes widened, her mother had set her up.

"Father, father I can explain..."

The blow sent her head flying back with inhuman speed. The tray dropped from her hand, clattering to the floor as she cradled her cheek with one hand.

His eyes were black as he gazed at her, Scarlett feared for her life at that moment.

"Try,"

Her lips were sealed shut, there was nothing to explain. The look in her father's eyes screamed retribution and punishment for her actions. There was no hope for her.

Her father stalked her, cornering her in his office. His eyes were wide with excitement as he haunted his prey.

Her mother chose that time to come running, "I heard the noise, what's going on?"She asked.

Scarlett sent her mother a look of betrayal, her life flashing before her eyes as she prayed to the moon goddess to bail her out.

"Your daughter tried to kill me."Her father let out.
