The Kingdom of Tamman 1805
Drawing nearer to the castle's stylish, expansive black iron gates, standing tall, strong, and domineering with intricate patterns. On the tall, sturdy post on either side stood a ferocious black wolf statue on its hind legs, snout pointing towards the sky.Queen Luna Aakifahlynn noticed a crowd outside the gates from the backseat of the silver royal limousine, the first of its kind. One thing about the Royals, they had the best and the latest of what this wretched world had to offer.Setting closer, she could see that the crowd out here filtered out from what was happening inside the gate. She could hear the muffled screaming and shouting but could not clearly decipher what they were saying. However, suddenly the place went silent as Queen Luna Aakifahlynn focused her hearing, tuning in.It was as if someone knew she was tuning in and gave the order for silence. The uproar stopped. However, the people continued shouting and fist pumping in the air, 'Yeah,' 'Whoo hoo,' 'they are here, finally.'Her unique shade of blue eyes, bright and glistening with excitement, slid toward her husband and Mate, Alpha King Jairus Mathiasen, ruler of all magical beings, and smiled tenderly.Softly squeezing the hand, she held, "Oh, Jairus, what have you done?" Her voice was full of admiration as her heart swelled in her chest because of her mate.Jairus smiled down at her, eyes glinting with his own excitement. He kissed the back of her palms he held tenderly. Her childhood sweetheart Jairus always had a knack for surprising her. So tonight, when he whisked her away for an intimate dinner, just the two of them, it was no surprise. It was no surprise when they took the time and drove through the Kingdom under the moonlit sky. King Jairus knew she loved her people and would enjoy this time, confirming that the people were indeed doing well before she left.Queen Luna loved his spontaneity. Now they were back home, driving through the castle's gates, and there were so many people. 'What was going on? What did he have up his sleeve?'Aakifahlynn did not know, but she had been down on herself ever since her body failed to produce magic, and on top of that, she lost her wolf. She had been feeling unworthy of leading, which is why she had spoken to her husband a few weeks ago to discuss the next steps, given her current ineptitude in performing most of her duties.Queen Luna Aakifahlynn needed a sabbatical to cleanse her mind, body, and soul because her body was betraying her without compassion or mercy, and she wanted to be at her best self to lead her people. She lost the strength and power she enjoyed having. She was a force to be reckoned with at full strength and ability.Sadly, this happened to her because she had mainly fed the magic side of her for a very long time and neglected her wolf.Queen Luna Aakifahlynn felt as if she was being punished.Nevertheless, she had done it, and if given a chance, she would do it again for her mate and Kingdom. And if this Kingdom should continue to stay safe from impending attacks, Queen Luna Aakifahlynn knew she needed to get herself in better shape. Get things right with her body to function as it should.'But what was all this? Was this a surprise going away gathering for her?' It must be. He must have gathered the people last minute for a celebration before she left on her highway to recovery."Baby, what's going on?" Aakifahlynn beamed at her husband, leaning into him as she tugged his shirt. He was being somewhat secretive."Sweetie, it's a surprise, you'll see." He gazed upon her. She could see the love she was so used to by now in his eyes. She snuggled into him, basking in the almost mute sensations contact with his skin provided her. It was weak due to her condition. However, she felt it nonetheless. Her body used to come alive instantly at his touch. However, now, his gentle touches left in its wake a lazy awakening. And yet her emotions were just as strong as they were for him the first time she laid her eyes on him.Completely enamored.Aakifahlynn gazed out the window at his side as they drove up to the castle's main entrance.Looking up at the vast sky, "Beautiful," she breathes. It was nearly midnight. Queen Luna was sure of it. The night sky was scenic. The backdrop was a chilling midnight blue-black glittering with millions of tiny stars that filled the sky, complementing the Moon that shone in her wondrous glory. The Moon was full and bright, and somehow, the brightness and fullness of it gave her a warm, comforting sensation that the Divine Moon Goddess was looking down upon them.On a night like this, a celebration before she leaves to get herself right for her people and the Kingdom. She wondered if the Divine Moon Goddess was pleased with their ruling, and if yes, then why was she weakening by the day?Why had she lost her wolf?Nevertheless, she gazed at its brightness and allowed herself to be wrapped in its embrace. While her husband's muscular arms encased around her, igniting her skin with the light sparks of the mate bond.Alpha King Jairus stroked her arms as he held her close, gazed lovingly into her eyes, and smiled a smile that could melt any woman's heart, and she would melt every time.Jairus's hazel eyes slid back to what was happening outside the vehicle. And though Aakifahlynn was extremely weak right now, she could feel the vibrations of excitement radiating from her husband. She leaned in, turned his face to look at her, and kissed him. It was gentle and sweet. Her mate was simply the most precious. The vehicle finally came to a stop by the entrance of the castle. It was as if the driver had intentionally driven up to the castle slowly.Jairus quickly departed the vehicle, his eyes glazed over momentarily, then back in focus. He held his hand out for Queen Luna Aakifahlynn to take as she exited.Scooping her up bridal style, Jairus carried her inside the castle. She giggled lightly at his swift movements as she curiously wondered what was next. When Jairus whispered in her ear, his lips brushed over the tip, kindling the hairs on her skin to stand at attention. As if reading her mind. "I have a little something to show you first," Alpha King Jairus kissed her temple tenderly. So soft, she closed her eyes and relaxed in his arms, overcome with so much love for this man.Surely it was another surprise, a private one, maybe before they greeted the people. Her cheeks stained tomato red as she blushed and nestled further into his chest. His arms tightened around her.Life was not perfect, but at least she had her husband and mate who would be back home rooting for her and supporting her in her absence.Queen Luna Aakifahlynn was sad to leave him and her people, but she knew it was a sacrifice she needed to make. She did not have a choice if she was to get back in the shape of being a faithful and devoted Queen Luna at full strength, fully capable of defending her Kingdom.Jairus has been by her side aiding, comforting, and supporting her. Her true champion, she had not left yet, and she was already anticipating her return.Soon Jairus set her down, and she realized it was his private study. The room was fully lit with exquisite candelabras set up around the room. These were on the cabinet jammed into the wall, the coffee table, and his desk.A chandelier glowed above them, filled with white candles. The sofas are still the same on the right as you entered.Jairus strode straight to his vast mahogany desk ahead of the entrance. He pulled out a cream letter-sized envelope and handed it to Aakifahlynn. Looking into her eyes, suddenly, a blank expression on his face. Her eyes widened, then a smile stretched her lips, and her eyes glinted. 'Oh Goddess, was he able to make the trip after all?'She would have loved it if he could, simply to get her settled, but she knew of the ramifications. A Queen and King can only be away from their Kingdom for a short time, especially at the same time. The council consisted of the Elders, Dukes, Marqueses, Earls, Viscounts, Barons, and Lords who advised against this. They were all from varying magical beings simply for transparency and to maintain a balance.Nevertheless, she hoped he could at least spare a few weeks to make the trip and back like one of their short delegate outings. Visiting prestigious werewolf communities and towns around the continent.Aakifahlynn eagerly took the envelope and quickly opened it, gently lifting the top and slipping her fingers in. She pulled out a few ink-quilled sheets of paper. Her eyebrows furrowed. Odd, she thought, this was not a train ticket. She asked, confused, not bothering to zone in, "What's this?"She gestured the paper at him, her voice skeptical, confusion written all over her face. She looked at the sheets again. And read, however, nothing in this world could have prepared her for what she saw in bold capital letters. How did she miss this at first glance? It was sticking out like a sore thumb.Hey Lovelies, Welcome to the first chapter of my New Novel. I do hope you enjoy it. And do not forget to add to your library for update notifications! 🌹🌹
Aakifahlynn clutched her aching chest with one hand as she held the papers in the other. Her eyes were wide in shock, a shiver of dread ran down her spine, and her already strained state weakened as she read.'The PEOPLE OF THE KINGDOM OF TAMMAN,' Aakifahlynn's eyes narrowed, and eyebrows deepened, "Jairus? What's this?" Her voice was barely audible, but she knew he would hear her with his wolf senses.Aakifahlynn continued reading, but she did not like how he stood there lightly, leaning his butt on his desk observing, and each time she questioned, he gestured to her with a roll of his palm to keep going. But it was not that she could not read and understand. It was just that she could not begin to fathom what brought this on. 'How? When? Why?'This made her a bit anxious and uneasy; she continued, 'To All Who Shall See These, Presents.....DIVORCE GREETING''Know ye shall license and permission was given,' she could not continue reading. Aakifahlynn stared unblinking at her husband
"What are you waiting on? I SAID GET OUT AND GET OUT NOW!" Billionaire Alpha King Jairus Mathiasen growled menacingly and was in front of her instantly, leaving his mistress's side. His sweet luscious lips that used to kiss her tears away or pepper kisses all over her body, having her skin erupt in a flurry of warm, comforting, and sensual tingles now curled into a scowl as he reared back his hand and struck her across the face, this time with the already prepared and signed divorce paper.Causing her to stumble, hunching over sideways with the force of her husband's shove behind the slap. With her reflexes, she was able to right herself as she held the side of her face that stung in the aftermath of his heavy hand. And yet mild sparks were warming it simultaneously, but she was thankful he did not use his full strength on her weakened body.Yes, her husband, a man she had married, loved, and given five years of her life as a doting and supportive wife and Queen Luna. That same man w
Queen Luna Aakifahlynn rolled down the stairs and landed on the gravel and stone path below the steps in front of a crowd of magical beings, some humans among them. Her aching bones were bruised further as she hit each step on her way down. And only then did she hear what they were shouting as clear as day.'PUNISH HER,' 'THE WEAK QUEEN,' 'UNFIT LUNA,' 'UNFIT TO RULE.' And some grunts and cheers of agreement. And at that moment, Aakifahlynn realized the depth of this betrayal. He would whip her in front of these people, further stripping her of any ounce of dignity she tried to hold onto.Surely they wanted to punish her, but why? However, at this moment, she wished for death. She felt empty yet full because of the mate bond. Every hurt, aching, soul-crushing pain and trauma racked her body. The mate bond would offer her a sense of calm and comfort. Lies, all lies, Aakifahlynn thought but resigned herself to the comfort it still afforded as she faced her faith. She tried to sit up, h
Aakifahlynn felt her flesh being torn. Her skin stung as the whipper continued his whippings, and she was sure germs were already setting in from whatever filth the whip was soaking in.Because among her blood that filled the air, there was also the stench of something foul.*WATAX, WATAX, WATAX* came the sound of the final three whips. Her back was a bloody mess. Her skin was stripped to pieces. Aakifahlynn was sure of it. She could feel her pale skin dangling off in the back there, hitting her softly as she swayed. Her face was a mixture of tears, perspiration, spittle, and mucus that ran out her nose.Suddenly, the whipper cut the rope that held her upright, and she fell to the ground and rolled, screaming out as pain caused by the sharp stones and gravel that penetrated her sore back shut through her.Her breathing was still ragged. She heaved as much air into her lungs as tears streamed down her cheeks endlessly. She shook as it was now over. She whimpered.Aakifahlynn hoped he w
Aakifahlynn recoiled away from Jairus, but it took strength she did not have because her heart still fluttered at his closeness after all his betrayal. She felt disgusted.Weak electricity flowed through her body, betraying her. This bond was betraying her just like her husband and mate were. She turned her face away, and Jairus reached and grabbed her face, turning it back to him roughly.Aakifahlynn made a sound of protest at her pain."I fed you a poison that weakened your wolf..." He squeezed her jaw, ensuring she stayed still and listened, "And when you continue to strain your body using magic, it did the rest of the work for me..." He kissed her cheek again, so tender and sweet."I must thank you for that," With a smug look on his face, he gave her another gentle kiss, this time on her nose. After he whispered those horrid words letting her know he was responsible for her current condition, weakening her in front of the people so he could declare her unfit to rule. She looked at
Queen Luna Aakifahlynn Mathiasen scanned her memories. She remembered developing a tactical plan that ended this war before it even began, and this was a constant wrangle. Some group or the other was continually rising up to overthrow the Monarch. She never understood why they would not quit.Aakifahlynn abruptly rose from the head chair, scrapping noisily on the concrete flooring, and she leaned forward, resting her knuckles on the table, feeling slightly off-balance."Please, pardon me. It seems I am not well. Do carry on with this meeting." Her eyes slid to each of their faces, ensuring they grasped."It is imperative that we secure our borders and stop these snakes." With that, she nodded and was about to head out of the room to gather herself when Duke Chapman said, "You should see the healer."She nodded again and quickly exited the meeting room. Aakifahlynn shut the door behind her and leaned on it.Her head resting on the door, she looked up to the ceiling as if searching for
The council comprised two Elders, two Dukes, two Marquesses, two Earls, two Viscounts, two Barons, and two Lords. Each ranked level had two species representing, never of the same kind, except for the Elders. So, on each level, it was either a Daimph, a Vampyre, or a Werewolf. The Ayacques were never a part of the council because they had not surrendered to the throne. They were from the south. The betrayers were the two Elders. Both elders were Werewolves, for apparent reasons keeping only the history of the werewolf relevant and alive. One Duke, another Werewolf, a Marquess, and a Lord are Vampyres. Aakifahlynn scoffed as she recalled Duke Mark Chapman's words. He dared to act concerned for her well-being when he was front and center... Well, more like front and off to the side, but still, he supported her husband during her death. Aakifahlynn felt a wave of anger rising in the pit of her stomach, causing her to see red at her demise. And a deep-seething hatred for those that
Aakifahlynn stared wide-eyed and unblinking because it was at this moment she learned that Jairus and Taisiya were not something that had happened recently because of her ailments, as she had initially thought. This has been going on since Taisiya returned a few months ago in this Timeline. And in her past Timeline, they would have been together for three years and counting. Aakifahlynn swore her heart skipped a bit, and at this moment, she was thankful she had decided to use her magic to calm her nerves and steady her emotions. She would have definitely gotten caught if she had not taken this precaution. Aakifahlynn also acknowledged she needed to rely on her wolf and magic to survive in this castle. Just to be able to be around them and not give herself away, she needed the reinforcement; she would not dare fool herself into thinking she could do this without help. Jairus's eyes dimmed, eyebrows pinched as if something suddenly disturbed him. He pulled away from caressing her f
Aakifahlynn was sorry she missed the opening but was too busy recovering from draining her strength after healing folks at a hospital and then having to recuperate. Nevertheless, she told him not to let her absence keep him from moving forward in their adventures; she would show up when she could to check on things.Plus, Aakifahlynn preferred the surprised visits; keeping him on his toes is always better. However, she must admit he still had that eagerness to help in any way she wanted after their encounter that faithful day she visited the Stygian.Nevertheless, Aakifahlynn learned that Taisiya does not exist, literally. She was found washed ashore at the age of sixteen with no family. And this Jarrod had confirmed as he lived it. He was there when Jairus brought her home. Taisiya had woven a web of lies throughout her life, leaving a lingering mystery about her true identity. Even Spencer, who had his men gather all the intel, was unsure. But he went on to explain his spy's find
This only heightened Aakifahlynn's curiosity, but before her mind could run away with all the possible reasons, he said, "It was about three years after my son took the throne to the kingdom." He paused, and Aakifahlynn slowly began devouring her plate. His eyes weary as he recalled his tale, while Aakifahlynn calculated in her mind and concurred that it was true, he suddenly died of a heart attack. A stroke, then a heart attack, to be exact, as per Jairus's words. "I overheard a conversation between Jairus and TaISiYa," he pronounced her name with a venomous disdain that was discernible in the air.And so the story began…One afternoon, Jarrod, who was no longer the Alpha, yet was so proud of his son but weary at the same time because he was concerned about some of Jairus's sudden choices. Instantaneously and vigorously wanting more and more. Waging war against any being human or creatures of the night that would not submit to the throne. At this, Aakifahlynn grimaced, almost drop
Now, Aakifahlynn had a plan for today. She wore her usual boots, trousers, and long dress with a three-inch belt at the waist. Her hair was up in a messy bun, with little loose tendrils falling over her forehead and to the side of her face. Her makeup was barely there, as she preferred it. However, right now, she moved through the Palace like a fly on the wall—well... literally. It was her favorite trick to spy, just like when she spied on Jairus and Taisiya on her first day back.It had been a few hours, and nothing stood out to her in this forbidden area, a place she had never been allowed to enter before. It was like this new Emperor, who had taken over, did not exist. It seemed as if he was a ghost and this left a determined Aakifahlynn perplexed. Worried even, however, Aakifahlynn was not prepared for what she was about to find, more so who and the truth that would be revealed. After Rounding a few more corners and poking in some more empty rooms, even flying in on some palace
Alpha King Jairus Mathiasen, the ruler of the Kingdom, had spoken with his Beta, his trusted advisor, and arranged to send out inquiries, hoping to get some answers on the whereabouts of his number one choice, a key political figure and the Viscount, an expert in the medical field. Despite the unsettling possibility that his top choice had deserted him, Alpha King Jairus Mathiasen stood resolute, refusing to succumb to worry. Not long after, an idea sparked in his mind. His unyielding determination led him to his next move. Jairus, recalling Taisiya's abilities, decided to seek her out. He believed she could help him and thought this to himself, still believing that she had always been a loyal ally. He believed she could sense if anything was off with the Duke and even the Viscount using her magic or whatever other tricks she did. He was indeed desperate. Jairus barged in on Taisiya without knocking, instantly stating his request, and Taisiya, already in a foul mood, blurted, "Du
Back in familiar surroundings, Taisiya, though feeling defeated and weak in her body and mind, was resolute in grappling with the weight of her responsibilities and the fear of failing again. This visit, while it did provide her with some much-needed support, also stirred a sense of impending conflict within her, a war between her determination and her doubts. The only thing was her enemy's elusivity. Elder Raul Zev was cunning, and she wondered who was backing him. This only made her more vengeful, snapping at anything and everyone. Her plans to be the trusted Queen to step in were no longer possible the way she'd initially planned. But when she returned home, Taisiya was reminded of what she was working towards. The wasteland they called home, where they hid from other sea creatures while trying to survive in an almost un-survivable place, was hard to ignore.Down there it was always dark and cloudy, except when the starfish graced them with their magnificent presence, glowing iride
A Duke can only do so much, and Taisiya knew this much. His reach was not as far-reaching as the Alpha King's, and his word was not as final as the Alpha King's. Looking deep into her mate's love-filled gaze for what she thought would be the last time, she grabbed him into one last tearful, passion-filled kiss for the night.Tears streamed down her cheeks, wanting to smudge her neatly done makeup. She then pulled away, shoulders back, head high, and walked away from him without another word or a second glance, making up her mind to leave him and this fantasy behind her. That night, they went their separate ways.Duke Mark Chapman did not pursue her; he let her go because what she said struck a chord with him. She was right. Was he ready to throw it all away just like that? Was he even prepared for such a move?He had to be innovative and plan better. Based on his mate's reaction, what would he prepare for if she would not run away with him?She left him with much to think about, even
Taisiya knew she needed to escape this room momentarily to regroup. Duke Chapman's gaze was becoming intoxicating, almost suffocating. The longer they gazed upon each other from across the room, the more she felt unable to breathe. There was an undeniable pull toward him, and Taisiya did not like it one bit. At the same time, her inner being hoped she would be followed when she slipped away. Soon enough, after all the introductions, casually light conversations, and a drink or two, Taisiya felt it appropriate to excuse herself to the powder room for fresh air. After all, cigars and other gentlemanly treats kept the men busy. She soon whispered into Jairus's ear while her eyes bore into Chapman's, who was now chatting with a Vampyre, Earl Phillippe Paulsen, on the other side of the room. Duke Chapman soon whispered something to the Earl, quickly excusing himself and slipping out the back after he observed Taisiya.Taisiya ran straight past the powder room, through the kitchen, and ou
Jairus, the Alpha King, found himself in a precarious position. His aim was obstructed by a less-than-genuine statement from Viscount Everald Ferguson, a Vampyre with his own ambitions. The air sizzled with uncertainty as Jairus navigated this challenging terrain.Alpha King Jairus wanted to wait for Duke Chapman as the Duke was his top choice. However, Viscount Ferguson made the option of waiting any longer difficult. However, Alpha King Jairus was not about to back down. He was prepared to demand, even challenge if necessary, "Great point, Viscount Ferguson. I cannot argue with you there. However, this is the nomination process for the Eldership position." His words were a thinly veiled warning, a sign of the tension that was building. Jairus's voice resonated with the weight of the Eldership, a position that held significant power and influence. His tone and mannerisms underscored the gravity of the situation. He continued, his gaze shifting around the room, meeting everyone's,
Taisiya, the Duke's close friend and confidante, or was it something much more? Yes, it was so much more. She was becoming desperate. After looking around the castle some more, she secretly sought information on his whereabouts, asking if they had seen him. Nothing. She needed to see him, and it was clear he was not there. She recalled the voting at midday, a crucial event that could determine the future of the Kingdom.Taisiya's shoulders relaxed slightly, but she was not yet convinced, leaving her with only one choice. With no other option in sight, she resolved to visit his home, her determination tenacious in her quest to find him. Taisiya grimaced at the thought of his mother. But no matter, she would brave that wretched woman to know if he was alright.Moments later, Taisiya was leaving her room after grabbing a coat and gloves, putting on more suitable footwear and a jacket, and hastily making her way to a carriage. Then, midway, she realized it would be faster and more appro
