Welcoming New Employees

Olivia's POV

The day slowly went by and I was glad I didn't have to see Alex or that Maria girl. I heard him walking in the hallway a couple of times but never bothered to find out what was keeping him busy. I was so engrossed in what I was doing that I didn't know how much time had flown.

The phone on my desk rang drawing my attention to it. I picked up the receiver and brought it to my ears.

"Hello," I said into the mouthpiece.

"Ms Hudson, you are needed at the event hall. The event is about to start," came Mr Wilson's voice.

"Okay," I replied recalling Alex had mentioned there was going to be an event at the company.

I closed the files I was working on and shut down my laptop. I placed it inside my bag and after ensuring I had not left anything behind, I stepped out of the office and locked it up as advised by Mr Wilson. I walked down the hall towards the elevator and pressed the button for the first floor upon entering the elevator.
