The call ended and I continued with the work. Maria was just a definition of trouble but I just didn't want to start something that would quickly escalate to something else. I was sad about my presentation hearing Mr Wilson say I needed to work on it. I know he was just being nice and the reason he wouldn't come out sounding mean like Mr Williams and Maria. I focused my mind on the file I was working on. When I was done, I picked it up and headed out. I was supposed to give it to Mr Williams to go through and approve from his end and I can proceed with the next steps.

I exited my office and walked down the hallway towards his office. I knocked gently on the door but was met with silence. I knocked again and still silence. I turned the doorknob and it opened.
