~Liam~

Morning came, and it wasn't hard figuring out where to take Josephine. Harper had requested that they would need most of the day to set up the hall for the party tomorrow. I knew precisely where I would take her.

After breakfast, I asked Josephine to accompany me.

"Where do you think will be safe for us to go?" Josephine asked me while we climbed the stairs to head back to my room.

"We have been cooped up indoors for a while now. I just think going to the Fellowship Park will be nice," I said, and she stopped moving and turned to look at me.

"You know it will be hard to say no to that, Liam," She said with a big grin, and I was glad she liked the idea.

"Wilson, please ready six kappas. Ensure you follow Josephine and me closely from behind. We are going to the fellowship park, private section," I linked Wilson.

"Yes, your Highness," he replied.

I was glad that it was taken care of. The last thing I would want was someone grabbing us a day before her birthday. I wouldn

  • Puppy Love   88 Anticipation

~Josephine~ I woke up on the morning of my birthday, and to my surprise, Liam wasn't beside me in bed. We had returned from the lake early and had gone to sleep together. I hadn't anticipated that he wouldn't be there when I woke up. Was something amiss? I was unsure how to react to this unexpected situation. I had been looking forward to him being by my side when I awoke, ready to wish me a happy birthday. A hint of annoyance welled up within me, but I made an effort to keep my emotions in check. I shuffled my way to the bathroom to freshen up and prepare for the day. Once I finished, I made my way downstairs. In the dining room, I found only Sebastien and Noah, and I wondered where everyone else had gone. "Where is everyone?" I inquired, taking a seat, and Noah regarded me. "Well, good morning, Jo," he greeted, subtly reminding me of my manners. I felt a blush of embarrassment creep over me; I had come across as somewhat abrupt. I should have greeted them first before posing my

  • Puppy Love   89 Surprise

~Josephine~ Elaine and I spent some time together, but neither Oliver nor Liam had called us. It was three in the afternoon, and a sense of worry began to gnaw at me. I decided to visit Justin in his office, just in case something unfortunate had happened. Leaving my sister behind, I made my way downstairs to Justin's office. Upon entering, I was taken aback to find Sophia seated on his couch. Our eyes locked, and we gazed at each other in silence for a moment. My mind raced with thoughts of what she might be thinking. Did she view me as an adversary, the woman who had taken away her friend, the man who might have been hers if circumstances had been different? I couldn't fathom her thoughts, and I felt a sense of unease. Sophia had endured so much that it would be inappropriate to be anything but compassionate towards her. "Hello, Sophia," I managed to greet her, feeling a mixture of nerves and caution. To my surprise, she stepped away from the couch and approached me, then embr

  • Puppy Love   90 Happy Birthday

~Josephine~ The hall was adorned with colourful balloons and streamers that hung all around. Two beautifully decorated cakes, each bearing our names, took centre stage on the table. The decorations were exquisite, youthful, and perfect, clearly a labour of love. In the midst of the crowd, Oliver made his way towards us. He was dressed in a casual henley shirt and jeans, appearing relaxed and well-rested. I realised then that Justin had likely lied about sending them on an errand, probably to stir things up. I shot a look at Justin, who stood beside Sophia, wearing a triumphant smile. His eyes seemed to say, 'Gotcha.' I vowed to get back at him soon, very soon. He winked at me, and I smiled with gratitude. He did tell me I would thank him soon. I guess he was right. Elaine couldn't contain her excitement and hurriedly closed the gap between herself and Oliver, who was making his way to her. He hugged her, lifting her slightly off the ground, and they shared a romantic kiss. There was

  • Puppy Love   91 Accepting The Bond

~Josephine~ Intoxicated and engulfed by his scent, I let it pull me in as we kissed. Liam held on tightly, releasing a hunger he had held for so long, and so did I. I melted away in his arms, ready and hopeful he would seal the deal. Onyx wanted it, and I did, too. We finally broke the kiss, and Liam stared into my eyes, searching. Was he thinking I would reject him? Was that why he was nervous? "For you," He said, handing me the single rose, and I collected it from him, mesmerised by him, but something in his eyes said he wasn't surprised. His control and restraint said he might have had a lot of practice. "Did you know?" I asked him, and he made me sit on the comfortable mat he provided. He looked at me and sighed. Then, he searched my eyes. "I have known ever since you walked into the dining room in Mountain," he said, and I gasped. My heart was racing, and questions were rising. He quickly held my mind and looked at me. "I wanted to let it go, but I also wanted to get to k

  • Puppy Love   92 It Doesn't Matter

~Elaine~ Oliver and I had already suspected we wouldn't be fated because I was a Stepanov, and he should have sensed me when I turned seventeen, but it did not matter. The fated factor had never mattered, even though we heard whispers of people being concerned about what might happen to us when I turned eighteen, and we weren't fated. It wouldn't change anything, really. The fact is we loved each other dearly, and that was all that mattered. I had a conversation with my father a year ago, and we had made peace with it. Seeing the surprise party that Oliver organised for me warmed my heart. All day long, I had thought he had been insensitive not to call me and wish me happy birthday, even though Justin had sent him and Liam on errands, all this was happening. I wondered when they had the time to set the place up. Whatever it was, I was grateful for it, and I loved it. By the blue moon, I will be Lady Orlov, and that would be it. Spending the rest of my life with the man I lo

  • Puppy Love   93 Back In Greenville

~Marvin~ I had been in Greenville for four days and still had not met with Alpha Devin. It was hard making the trip, but Layla knew I would do anything for her, and that is the only reason I was at the holiday inn in Greenville, waiting to be summoned by Alpha Devin. I had yet to tell my father the situation, but had I known it would be this way, I would have remained in Grizlo and celebrated Elaine and Josphine's birthday before coming to Greenville. I wonder what kind of point Alpha Devin was trying to prove by this, but honestly, I was getting tired. I lay on the bed in my room. I had a long day working out and contemplated visiting the Alpha's house to see Layla. Luna Susan was kind, but I couldn't say the same for her husband. Alpha Devin wasn't mean or disrespectful; he was just overprotective, and it had affected Layla and me. "I am bored", my wolf Marco said in my head, and the feeling was mutual, but there wasn't much to do. I had exhausted myself in the nearby gym, and t

  • Puppy Love   94 Long Night

~Liam~ I knew my first time would be amazing, but I could have never described it. Everything felt good. The feeling was heightened, and what I felt as the mate pull in the past was a joke compared to what I felt as Josephine stepped out into the clearing. It was strong and intoxicating. I was nervous initially, but she helped me relax, and somehow, my appetite for her grew. We lay down and watched the moon. I wanted to go again, but I wanted to continue in our bedroom. I managed to look at the food and the cake, along with the candles that had almost burned out. It didn't seem like we would be eating the food. "Do you want to head back to the house?" I asked Josephine, and she looked at me. The sight of her was amazing, and I knew I would never get enough. Every time she looks at me, my heartbeat quickens, and I know she owns my heart. "I want to go to bed, not the party," She grumbled, and I knew what she meant by the bed. Interlacing my fingers with hers, I brought her hand to

  • Puppy Love   95 Desires and Truths

~Justin~ Two days had passed since Josephine's birthday party, and the excitement still lingered in the air. We all pretended not to know they were fated because somehow I figured Josephine would not forgive Liam for keeping her in the dark, but it was okay. There was too much gloom in our world, and spoiling what the two love birds had would be unwise. I knew Oliver and Elaine would be tying the knot by the Bluemoon, and even though I felt it was a bit too soon, I supported them. Oliver and Elaine had shown they weren't going to wait for the mate bond and get on with their lives. Somehow, I believed they would be alright. Maybe if I had found someone I cared about and the feeling was mutual, I might have done the same. But I had given myself time, and thirty was when I would stop waiting and try to build a connection with someone that gets me. For now, I needed to bury my nose in the job and get it done. The whole issue with the criminals had lingered too long, but we knew we woul

As much as I would love to please everyone, I can only write one book at a time So I planned to go with Wild Hearts, but since some of you have already started Dark Obsession, I will release it and continue to write it gradually. I have decided to run with both books. Once my schedule is better, the update days will improve. For those who are wondering about Dark Obsession, It is a standalone, and you do not need to read Forged in the Flames to enjoy the story. I would love feedback and hope the energy will be the same in that book. I am counting on your support and encouragement. Thank you. 🙏 😊 🤗

  • Puppy Love   158 A New Life

~Sophia~ Justin's kiss was sweeter than the last I remembered. He had stayed away from me for a while, and I was mad at him for it, but I knew he would make it for my eighteenth birthday. I knew he would come, and I anticipated it. He stayed away mainly because he didn’t want to cross the line, but tonight, fate told us it was okay, and we embraced it. My tears could not stop flowing. They were tears of joy and relief. I was grateful. So grateful. Justin lifted me in his arms and carried me inside; my eyes remained fixed on him, not caring about the surroundings. I knew he had put a lot of work into it, but we had to finish our unfinished business before we attended to the other stuff. His gaze remained on mine, making me giggle. “You look so beautiful tonight, Sophia,” he said, and I was glad he liked the effort. It was for him. Laying me on the bed, he kissed me and travelled from my neck to my sweet spot. Justin was a guy who liked to make out a bit rough and overwhelming, b

  • Puppy Love   157 In A Short While

~Justin~ I stayed away after we had solved the case and made all the arrests. Things had not ended well for many people who were on the wrong side of the law. For the rest of us, we had moved on. Rachael ended up with her mate, who happened to be a Stepanov from one of the ten Ruling houses in the west. It was as if she knew she was meant to be with a great man all along, and fate had answered her prayers. As much as I did not want to discuss the punishment for the criminals, I just have to say most of them had been killed. There were scheduled executions for most of them, as there were many. The King wanted everyone involved to pay, no matter how small their part was. Fortunately, Uncle Vino had pushed for Jessica, something I knew Jewelles had everything to do with. She got fifteen years of sentencing, not after they asked Adrian and Rachael if they were okay with it. They both had moved on and didn't care what happened to her, so she was lucky there. At least she will get to see

  • Puppy Love   156 The Resolves

~Liam~ One week passed, and Adrian Jacob, Harper and Jewelles returned to Lumas. Our parents had made a series of arrests. The activities were all over. Underground warehouses were found, crime lords were arrested, and factories were shut down. Unknown to my father, this operation started shortly after they defeated Yuri, and it was started by none other than Walter Armstrong, Nelson's lab technician, who messed up the D3 formula and destroyed Cones Village. The real reason behind the ban. Apparently, the defective D3 did not come from Nelson's lab but from one of Walter's makeshift labs that he tried to pass off as Nelson's goods when he was building his crime Network. Unfortunately for him, he was apprehended and locked up. His mate, Natasha Armstrong, being his partner in crime, feared that the law would catch up with them, so she faked her death, abandoning her children with lots of unpaid debts and an uncertain future. The cold-hearted bitch did not bother to look back. Nata

  • Puppy Love   155 Dominate Me

~Jewelles~ A week had passed since we discovered the truth, and our parents worked tirelessly to arrest all implicated. During the arrest, we discovered an underground recruitment for warriors. We might never know what the sick bastards planned, but I was glad we could trump their plan before it was in motion. The biggest mistake they made was to take Sophia. If that parcel hadn’t been delivered to Luna Glenda, the traitor and murderer, we wouldn't have been the wiser, and they would have gotten away with their crimes unnoticed. As much as Jacob hid his pain, I could see it. His mother was one of the people who would receive a long sentence. She would have been executed, but I had pleaded with my father to put in a word for her for Jacob's sake. Jacob didn’t ask me to do it, but I knew it was eating him inside. He found out what I did this morning, flipped and hasn't spoken to me. It has been a long, agonising day. Jacob was also yet to seal the deal. He was mad at me for taking m

  • Puppy Love   154 Finally What I Want

~Charlotte~ After spending time with everyone in the garden, Caspian and I decided to retire. Our parents were so busy with arrests and judgements that we did not have a general dinner, but it was okay. Snuggled in Caspian's Arms in our room. Aunty Tamia planned to give Jewelles, Harper and me permanent rooms in the estate. They wanted us to always have a reason to come home with our mates. I could understand, and I appreciated it. Our rooms were still being renovated; they were in the Delta wing of the mansion. Many rooms were unoccupied there, and since our family was expanding, we would be given rooms there. All of us, including the guys. That way, we will all be in one wing when we are around. I could not believe everything was finally over. Although there had not been any sentencing yet, our part of the investigation was over. Our parents had dreaded it leading to war, but it didn’t this time. It might have if they had successfully mass-produced their Agk32 to create an army.

  • Puppy Love   153 Reminiscing

~Justin~ While Sophia was with her father. I decided to make some plans. The case seemed closed on our side. We had finished the initial assignment, which was figuring out what happened that night. Uncle Sylvester had also explained that only people with jurisdiction can interfere with the case onward. There wasn't much to do but pick up the people mentioned. It was over, meaning an alpha would be appointed for Grizlo. It meant we would have to get to our normal lives, and I could not see a normal life without Sophia. I was nervous now that her father had been found and he would be free. I wondered if she would feel the same. I hoped to drag the case a bit longer, but it was impossible. I decided to call the staff at my house in Lucland to fix the place up. I wasn’t sure why, but I knew that once Sophia turned eighteen, I would not hesitate. She had asked me about where I lived in Lucland. I planned to spend time with her there and live with her in the near future if she would hav

  • Puppy Love   152 Mike's Angle

~Justin~ It was time to question Mike, and Noah was the first to link me. Of course, he would be eager. He had a theory, and Mike’s account would help him fit the pieces together. His reasons differed from Liam's and mine. Mike was a puzzle Noah and Sebastien wanted to solve, while we wanted to find a way to save Sophia and exonerate Mike if he was innocent. Jellewes came with Lily to get Sophia. My entire team would have to be present at the questioning, so Harper and Jo would not be available. I needed Lily and Jewelles to help take her mind off what was happening. Jewelles and Lilly planned to keep her occupied until after the questioning. I thanked them for their kindness. Although Lisa's team were not invited, Lisa insisted to be a part of it. My sister was overzealous like that. I couldn't wait for her to settle down and get on with her life. Tanya had returned home to her mate. The entire ordeal with Harper had shaken her completely. I doubted she would be volunteering for a

  • Puppy Love   151 Telling Her

~Justin~ After planning our questioning strategy with my team, I spent time with Sophia. We planned to question Mike in the evening to avoid dragging the investigation too long. Adrian wanted to take Harper back to Lumas in two days. Likewise, Jacob and Jewelles, so I knew we had to move quickly. Although I hoped they would stay a bit longer. It was fun having them around. I didn't feel so old. Usually, I was forced to act like an uncle to my cousins, and that made them uncomfortable around me, and they saw me as boring, but with Caspian, Adrian, and Jacob in our team, I was more comfortable now. I had also made new friends who were now part of my family. Caspian wasn't leaving until the case was done, but I hoped Adrian and Jacob would stay a bit. Not that I will tell them. Sophia had spent the morning with the ladies. Harper had come to get her, and I think it helped her a lot because she felt a lot better knowing Harper and Lily were fine and weren’t traumatised by the inciden
