“Hey! You finally put on the keychain I gave you!” Alex said excitedly as he saw the keychain hanging on her zipper. Siana turned around to look at him and then realized what he was talking about once she looked at her bag.
“Oh yeah, the other one broke so I put this one on. You gave me a gift for my 18th birthday but I never really used it. And you being you kept nagging me about it, so here you go, I’m using it now mister.” Siana said in an annoyed but joking tone which made Alex laugh again.
“Well I’m glad, you finally learnt to use presents.”
“Okay bye now!” She said as she turned around again and waved him goodbye.
“Bye…” His eyes focused on the keychain as he saw her walk outside and disappear into the distance.
“Did everything go well, babe?” Chloe walked towards him and locked her arm with him. She had been waiting for him and was standing with some of her friends on the other side of the room.
“Yes it did and she likes you a lot.” A smile took over his face as he talked to her. His arm was now wrapped around her slim waist as he looked deeply into her eyes while talking to her.
“That’s great! And see I told you I wasn’t at fault for that whole thing. It was all Lilia’s doing. She hated how close you are to her and was annoyed more when I didn’t mind it. So she threw a fit and made a scene about such a small thing…” She looked at Alex with apologetic eyes for she knew how badly she had messed up by letting this situation get so far.
Lilia had been friends with her for a long time and was worried for her best friend so she acted on her own. However, she wasn’t fully aware of the situation and the bond that Siana and Alex shared.
Since, Chloe and Alex had been dating for more than a year now, she knew very well about the relationship that Alex and Siana shared. She had even met up with her a few times and both had become good friends now. She wasn’t jealous of her because Alex had told her about their past and how long they went back in the past. Over time, she understood very well about her and wanted to help and protect her as well.
“I know baby…I was just worried and yes you really need to make Lilia understand this situation or leave a friend like that who likes to put others down…” Alex knew very well how heavy those words were and didn’t want to pressure Chloe into doing anything.
“Yeah, I know. I was gonna have a talk with her anyways so might as well now.” Chloe replied with a smile on her face, a sad one for she didn’t want to lose a friend.
“Alright.” Alex patted her head and wrapped his arm around her again.
“I know she’s a very important person to you baby, I would never do anything to hurt her okay.” She rested her head on his shoulder as made a pout.
“I know, baby. I promise I’m never going to doubt you about that.” Alex held her closer.
They both had wrapped their one arm around each other, their eyes towards the door in the direction that Siana had walked in. Mysterious energy filled their eyes as they stared into the distance.
“So should we go on a date?” Alex asked as he pulled his eyes towards her after a long pause.
“Yes!” He got an enthusiastic reply from her. “You’re buying me cake today.” She wrapped her arms around his arm and smiled brightly as she looked at him.

Siana was in her heaven for it was really peaceful in the library as always; she sat among several books. At the back of the library, she was in the middle of two bookshelves, sitting on the floor.
A cushion in her lap where she rested the book, her eyes fixed on the book- lost in an imaginary world of her own. Her legs were reaching towards the shelf in front of her, but still some distance there because of how short she was. Her bag was kept beside her and placed against the shelf.
Her heart felt at peace as she dived deeper into a book and escaped the realities of this cruel world. It was her favorite place to be because here she could forget her past, all the loud noises of the outer world, and all the problems that awaited her outside of those four walls.
The book she was reading was one of her favorites and it explained the story of a girl known as the princess of silence and included a poem that told her life story.
~A girl so happy yet so silent
Her heart pure like the snow
So afraid she was of people
And yet she loved a boy
He was as charming as a prince
And lit up her world in diamonds
She was the happiest she had ever been
But a flower always dies
Turned out he was a demon
The princess he now held captive
A high tower in the mountains
Her heart closed down in darkness
Now she hates him...
No escape left, all went quiet
The princess in the mountains
They say her ghost now hates silence
The prince that was a demon
He was never seen in the forest.~
The book pages had some teardrops on them for, by the end of the poem, Siana’s eyes were covered in tears. Her mind was filled with questions after she finished it. She couldn’t understand how a person could get so cruel and hold a princess captive like that; how could one betray someone like that in the name of love? Siana wondered how this world could be so evil towards someone so innocent.
Siana felt weirdly attached to that poem because of how much she could relate to it, she felt as if the poem described her life story; how she was treated so cruelly by the world, and how people had betrayed her in the name of love. The only difference was that she had not yet met a demon who would ruin her life completely and she prayed that it would never happen.
“Excuse me…”
Siana flinched as she heard that voice cause she never expected anyone to talk to her, let alone come near that area for it was the older and emptier section of the library.
That voice snapped her back to the reality that she was trying so hard to escape. A panic took over her for she had never encountered any such situation, she had always been alone in the library and always hid well among the various shelves filled with books.
Siana slowly looked up from her book, towards that voice. In front of her was a guy, blond hair falling softly onto his forehead, hiding his green eyes away from people but still visible if seen closely. He had squatted in front of Siana, a worried expression covering his face as he looked at her.
He wore a plain white shirt with blue jeans, a book in one hand, and a handkerchief in the other; it was extended towards Siana.
“Are you okay?” He asked, moving closer to look at her face.
Siana flinched at the action for she had not expected him to come so close and moved away in reflex. She was unable to understand the situation and thus didn’t know how to react. The shock she was feeling was stopping her from doing anything or replying to him.
A part of her wanted to run away and hide somewhere for she was going against her rules, she was discovered by someone and that too while crying; that was the last thing she wanted for herself. There was also a part of her that wanted to stay and see what happened.
Siana froze and didn’t say anything, she just looked at him as he tried to talk to her with a worried expression. It was weird to see someone worry so much about her for she had never experienced that before. No one except for Alex had ever seen her cry or worried so much about her.
His green eyes, she could see them very clearly cause of how close he was and they intrigued her as if casting a spell on her. A spell that made her want to stay there and talk to him and know what he wanted and why he was so worried…they seemed to control her mind…
“Miss…are you alright?” He asked again, this time shaking her arm a little bit to see if she was even listening to him.Siana had just been staring at him, her eyes focusing on his eyes which seemed to be casting a spell on her. Her cheeks still had tears running down them as she felt the pain of the princess from the poem. Unexpectedly enough, the more she looked into those eyes, the clearer and more blank her mind got, she couldn’t think or react to anything. However, when he shook her arm, she snapped back into reality, and once again panic took over her and she finally broke eye contact with him.Someone was sitting so close to her and was touching her and it scared her. She had no idea how to react and just froze for she had never encountered such situations before.Soon enough, Siana realized that she had to say something or do something to get out of the situation. He seemed worried for her and seemed to have no intention of leaving without knowing what was going on. She must
Siana’s world came crashing down in no time. The comfort that she had felt with this guy, turned into fear and disgust in no time. He wasn’t as nice as he seemed for what he held in his hand was Siana’s phone, which was lost at the staircase. Was he following her? Or did he just happen to go there? But then how did he know it was her phone? How did he find her so quickly?Several scenarios crossed her mind and each one of them made him more and more suspicious of him. That mischievous smile on his face terrified her and made her want to get as far away from him as possible. “H…how do you have t…that…?” The fear became visible in her eyes and her voice trembled as she spoke. It just made him feel superior and his smile got bigger. He stepped closer to her and started swinging his arm that held her phone. “What do you think?” His green eyes sent shivers down her spine and it seemed as if they were threatening her. Siana backed away in no time and before she knew it she was already l
*8 hours later**sigh* The clock on Siana’s watch read 8.30 pm and finally her day had come to an end after finishing her part-time job. This was a day filled with so many emotions that it had exhausted her and she now stood in front of the door to her house with her keys in her hand. Her hands trembled a little bit for the fear of being stalked by someone so dangerous made her a little paranoid. What if he was inside her house? What if he had been spying on her? What if he was sitting inside ready to attack her? After a long silence, Siana took a deep breath and unlocked the door. She didn’t want to stop living her life just cause of someone like him. And finally, she pushed the door open…it was complete silence. She started looking around the whole house which wasn’t too big, it just had one room with a small living room attached to the kitchen and a balcony which was Siana’s favorite part. After looking everywhere, she found nothing but still, her panic just seemed to increase a
*Clunk Clunk*Siana froze as she heard the sound of heels coming toward her. Her heart stopped beating for a second; all she focused on was that sound. Closing her eyes tightly, Siana hoped that it would be Verona who’d be standing behind her. She calmed down her panic for she didn’t want to look so bad if she met her again. Wiping the invisible tears off her face, she was ready to turn around. A new hope took over her heart as she felt like Verona was near and she would meet her now. Siana turned around slowly, a suppressed smile on her face as she hid her excitement from her lover who was apparently walking towards her. “Oh I finally found you!” Siana’s heart dropped immediately as she heard that voice. She tried her best to keep a neutral expression on her face cause she didn’t want this person to know any of her secrets. “What is she even doing here?” Siana thought to herself as she clenched her fists tightly. Forcing a smile on her face, Siana finally turned around to face t
“Siana please help us with this.” In no time, Siana had a heavy plate of food orders in her hands. “Give it to table 6.” Ann told her with a smile on her face. Siana smiled back but sighed as she turned around. It was currently 5.30 pm and she had gotten done with college about half an hour ago and now she was at her part-time job. She was supposed to work there for 6 hours but she was tired already from everything that had happened during the day. There was a bright smile on her face the whole time she was working there cause she didn’t want things in her personal life to affect her work or the other people around her. Siana felt uncomfortable if anyone asked her how she was or if something was wrong. Ignoring everything going on in her life, Siana just focused on her work as she served customers in that restaurant. It was a pretty famous one so they were really busy in the evening. Her already tired body was tired out even more by working constantly for the rest of the day. Howev
“V…Verona…” Siana whispered under her breath as she stared at the figure that stood outside her door. She finally saw that same bright smile again and it brought tears to her eyes immediately. The smile reassured her they both still felt the same way, that they were still what they were 5 years also and Verona was still madly in love with Siana. What was even happening? Why was Verona here? If she had come back, why didn’t she meet her in the library? Why was she hiding for so long? If they were done already, why had she come back now? There were several unanswered questions in her mind. However, Siana chose to ignore them all and pulled the door wide open. With no other words, she jumped into Verona’s arms who was much taller than her. Verona laughed as she caught her and hugged her back. “Hi honey…” Verona whispered into her eyes as she squeezed her closer. She had a bright smile on her face as she held the love of her life close in her arms. “How you been, my love?” All the ans
Pitch-black darkness…even after she opened her eyes, Siana couldn’t see anything. She was confused by what was happening and had no idea where she was. When she moved her hands, she realized that her hands had suddenly turned small and so was her whole body. She became a child somehow…about a 5-year-old child.Once she moved from her place she realized that she was inside an unfamiliar room. There were no lights on and therefore it was dark. Siana got down from the bed which was a hard task with her tiny body. Still, she pulled herself and walked towards the door, the creaks of which provided the only light in that room. She opened the door slowly and walked into a completely different and vintage hallway. There were pictures of queens and kings on the walls, the windows showed a sigh of just endless forests. It seemed like she was in a castle and that confused Siana even more. She heard some voices from the distance and she walked towards them. They led her to a room that looked li
The message on Siana’s phone confused her but she didn’t want to do anything about it. She had gotten too scared the day before by everything that he had done to her so she didn’t want to walk into the darkness voluntarily. Time was passing like sand and Siana spent all of it just sitting on the couch, wondering what had happened with Verona last night and how she had just left without a trace. Why did she have to do that? She felt something rub against her leg and flinched from suddenness. Once she looked down, she saw Kai rubbing against her legs as if he was trying to comfort her. “How do you always know how I feel?” She said as she sighed. She bent down and picked up Kai. And after half an hour of zoning out, she finally got up. She carried him to the bedroom and fell onto the bed. “I don’t know what to do…” She sighed deeply as she felt conflicted by all the mess that occurred in less than a day. Kai sat close to her and licked her hand. She smiled faintly and petted his head
The wind caused rustlings in the forest and the darkness made it very hard to see anything that lay in front of Verona. Suddenly thunder sounds were heard and before she could look up at the dark clouds, her head was hit with raindrops, falling swiftly one after another, making her drenched within seconds. She sighed as she showed disappointment in her luck. However, the darkness and rain didn’t seem to scare her. What scared her was what was inside that forest. She was there to meet someone and to meet them she had to go deep into the forest. The trees were too dense for her car to drive any further. So, in pitch-black darkness, she set out to reach the center on foot. She had no source of light with her so once again she forced her injured body to use up the rest of her vampire powers to see in darkness and protect herself from any possible prey. Her body had weakened a lot due to the attacks and she had noticed that both her arms had nail marks on them and were bleeding a little
Siana smiled slyly as she warned Verona about what was about to come and how she was going to ruin her life. Verona just laid there trying to get up but was hit too hard and couldn’t get up anymore. The anger in her eyes was still very strong and annoyed her that she couldn’t do anything. But no matter how hard she tried, she wasn’t able to get up as the werewolf was stepping on her back. Its weight stopped her from moving at all and she could just watch as Siana laughed at her condition. She didn’t seem to be affected at all by being choked for so long. Her voice and her body seemed perfectly fine. Chloe, on the other hand, had turned into a mess. She was sobbing loudly as she called for help. Verona found it pathetic and was embarrassed to have partnered up with someone so weak. Siana found it amusing; she liked her cries for help as they made her feel superior and strong. “Well, goodbye for now. I shall see if you can still reach your goal after this.” Siana said as she waved h
“Cause I hate you to death!” Verona screamed as she gripped Siana’s neck tightly. “Your family had ruined everything for me and for my ancestors. And you being the current royalty, deserve a torturous death.” Her voice got scarier with each second. “S…stop…” Siana whispered in a weak voice as she held onto Verona’s arms, trying her best to pull onto them but all her efforts were in vain. “No, bitch!” The force of her hands increased and Siana’s hand banged against the wall. Siana gasped for air as she started to suffocate and gripped Verona’s arms tighter. While doing so, her hands pierced into Verona’s paper-white skin, and dark maroon blood flowed out of them in no time falling onto Siana’s fingertips.Verona had no time to notice that in her fit of anger but this was exactly what Siana wanted. She needed her blood to get what she wanted. “V, I think you’re going a bit too far…she needs to be alive till we get what we need…” Chloe whispered from a distance as she herself was sca
“I hope this day goes well…” Siana said as she looked in the mirror. She saw a thin figure wearing a black pair of jeans with a white shirt tucked in it. A puffy denim jacket was placed over it and it had her brown hair resting lightly over it. She sighed deeply as she placed her bag on her shoulder. “Wish me good luck, Kai.” She whispered before she closed the door and locked the apartment. Kai meowed once and turned into a human as soon as the door closed. “I wish you good luck Siana.” He whispered back as he waved his hand at the closed door. “Let’s see if they make a move today.” Siana turned towards the other end of the hallway and there was a sly smile on her face. Siana had not seen Verona for a few days and things had been pretty calm in the college. However, that day she had a strong feeling that something was about to go down and that was making her nervous for no reason. The day was going okay for starters but the whole day she kept having this feeling that somebody wa
*age 13*It had been a little over 2 years since Verona and Siana had been friends and their friendship had evolved a lot as now Verona mostly just hung out with Saina and had left her gang. The four of them were very jealous of Siana for taking their friend away and even threatened her to go away a few times but it never worked. Siana had opened up to Verona a lot but never told her about the past cause she never fully trusted her. The queen had taught her never to trust anyone to the point of showing them everything. She did end up becoming good friends with her but hid a lot of things. And at the age of 13 Siana finally realized that she only felt attracted to girls. Slowly her feelings did change for Verona, who was always really sweet to her and was there when she needed her, and she realized that she might like her. But chose to never confess. But what about Verona? She had been infatuated with Siana since the beginning and no matter how hard she tried she couldn’t stop think
*age 11*Siana stood frozen in a corner as her body refused to move. The huge building in front of her overwhelmed her. A lot had changed within a year. She was taught the manners of the modern world and living an urban life. Since her birth, she had been brought up according to the royal traditions and she did know a lot of things that other people did; her life was a little too fancy to live a normal life but now things were about to change. So now, here she was in a new city with her foster family away from her home and her mother, the only family she had. She was enrolled in a new school and she was excited to meet new people but the thought terrified her at the same time as she had not known many people except for her family and Karissa. She stood at the start of the road which ended at her school’s entrance. That building looked so much bigger than her tiny body and all the kids entering it seemed from a different world. All her excitement died down in no time and she started
*age 4*“But mom why can’t I marry Krissy?” Siana asked with a pout on her face as she tugged on the corner of her mother’s dress. Siana wore a pink dress which looked good with her light brown hair and the tiny pink shoes she was wearing. “Cause she’s a girl Siana, you’re supposed to marry a guy.” Her mother patted her head lightly. Siana looked up at her and there she was. That pretty woman she admired the most as a child. Her birth mother; The Queen. The brown hair was fixed so perfectly into a bun, complementing her light complexion. She had a lavender dress on which went down her knees and it announced that she was royalty. Her hand that was placed on her head seemed so light and fragile as if she needed to be protected. If any hurt got to her she’d break. But her eyes were so determined and strong that Siana knew no matter what, her mother won’t give up without a fight. However, she was proved wrong later on in her life once she was sent away and her identity was hidden from
Siana’s feet stopped moving as soon as she entered the hallway toward her apartment. All the efforts that she had made to keep herself together went in vain as her heart dropped and she felt a rush of emotions taking over her. After being so close to Chloe and ignoring Siana completely, what was Verona even doing here? She stood before her door, leaning against the wall, wearing a black leather jacket that Siana had difficulty recognizing. Her hair was left loose and it fell softly onto her shoulders as she fixed her eyes on her phone, a sly smile all over her face. The leather jacket over the white shirt and the pants made her unrecognizable to Siana as she had never seen Verona dress that way. She stood still without any moment for a few seconds as she just tried to figure out who this person in front of her actually was. She had never seen that sly smile before and therefore was unable to understand what it meant. She could tell that the person in front of her wasn't the one sh
“So what’s the plan?” Elijah asked as he sat down next to Siana, who was once again lost in her thoughts. “They’re all here…just as we had planned. We got them all together after so many years…” Siana nodded along but didn’t say anything for a while. “We’ll wait for them to attack first…let them feel like they’re ahead of us. And as usual, keep your identity secret. Don’t even let them get suspicious about it.” She wanted him as she looked coldly into his eyes. “Yes, I will be careful of it.” He lowered his head as he agreed to it. “I have to go now, be careful with everything.” She picked up her back and got ready to leave. It was already 8 pm and it was dark outside. Elijah got up and walked her to the door. “Don’t let her get to your head.” He advised her as he had noticed her zoning out ever since he had talked about her. It seemed like Verona was going to be her biggest enemy but she had already turned into her weakness. She had loved her truly way before she had known
