Back in the conference room where the documents were being signed and the transition ongoing, the event was interrupted by a live video on the screen. Richard wanted to prove to his father that he could separate Tony from his newly wedded wife in just a few minutes therefore, everything happening in the garden was being played. He had forgotten to turn off the secret camera when things began moving antithetically.

Now, everything had turned in Abigail's favour. His shame was displayed in the open. As the saying goes, when you throw a ball against the wall, it will bounce back to you. Tony had left to the garden at a stroke, while Ivy took over the remaining details. Isaac tried to keep the media in check but he seemed to be failing terribly since they kept following Tony secretly till he stopped a little away from the pair.

"Otherwise? That you feel something for me? No. I won't even dream of it," Abigail expressed with certainty. It wasn't the first time Tony spoke irrationally to her. She ignored him yesterday but was prepared for a throwback this time. She was on a mission that could only be accomplished if she earned his respect. She wasn't going to be his doormat. She did him a favour and his mother paid her father's medical bills. Now she was stuck until he let go of those chippies. If that doesn't happen, then she had to say bye-bye to freedom. Her cheeks turned blood red in embarrassment and she didn't swallow it at this moment. "In order not to have any ideas, I will prefer to have dinner at home," she said gently but her demeanour carried determination. Her gentle voice did great in hiding the anger boiling inside her as she ordered the driver, "please take me to the villa." Tony saw her attitude to be bossy. • President Tony, Let's Perfect Our Marriage   9 - Let's just say I hired the whole rooftop for you

Tony felt an unavoidable headache, being caught on the spot. If it were an emergency, he wouldn't mind carrying her because she was as light as a feather but the girl was fit with two legs. His resistance was duly based on the suspicion that Abigail was trying to seduce him, recalling what she said to Richard that an acquaintance if nurtured could grow into love. He wasn't buying that. If he didn't like her at first sight, then it wasn't going to change but the girl was outsmarting him and her wit was becoming more and more extreme. Nevertheless, if she was planning to make him fall in love with her, then she could continue dreaming because that wasn't going to happen. With a clenched jaw, he stepped forward and attempted to lift her into his arms but Abigail took a step back, soaking him in a slush of confusion. "Your face looks scary. Can you smile a little?" Her voice was soft and pure,

What Tony didn't know was, Abigail had no intention of forgiving him easily but when she stormed out of the car and began walking away, she caught sight of a man in black with a camera. He was covered with the darkness but Abigail quickly made him out, which was the reason she kept putting Tony in the spot. Her only intention was to protect Tony's image, especially after everything that happened earlier. If the media portrayed them as the perfect couple, it would shine Tonys' integrity. Whereas her behaviour tonight from Tony's perspective was flirtatious, therefore, he didn't believe her. Yanking her by the waist just before she took another step, he snarled, "don't try to cover up the fact that you are into me. It's nothing to be ashamed of," he smirked. For as long as he knew, he was good looking and wealthy. Everywoman loved him and Abigail wasn't an exception. Abigail sighed, gently pushing him away and said, "don't believe me, why not check the newspapers on Mo

'President Tony chooses his ex over his wife'- A picture of Abigail, Tony, Richard and Ashley in the garden were added. 'President Tony shows his true colours' - A picture of the misunderstanding during dining was added. The last caption was what shook him to the core. 'Is President Tony in love with his little wife?' - A picture of him carrying Abigail in his arms was attached. From the smile on their faces, no one could tell it was forced. The details went on to question whether President Tony got over his ex so soon. It seemed a bit too early for him to move on but from the picture, they could tell that was the case. Checking the comment section, most people didn't believe it, relating it to a ploy to cover up the embarrassment he caused his wife. Haters will always be haters an

After everything Ivy had told Abigail, she couldn't bring herself to be upset. Rather, she felt something for him that she never felt before. Pity. Yes. It was sad inheriting such a crooked behaviour through the genes yet Abigail was far from giving up. Besides, what he just did will give her maximum respect from his employees. If he was going to be mean to her in secret and good to her in public, that was more than ample for her.She sighed and a flawless smile beautified her cute face. She wore no make-up and her skin was radiant. "Oh trust me, I won't dream of it. The out of ordinary ambience Tony at the entrance of Tony's office plucked the air out of his lungs when he arrived the next day. The walls from the elevator through the reception area to his door were given a purple tweet, in contrast to the boring white which had run through the company for years unending. A European style dark grey retro floor vase sat beside the visitors' sofa, stuffed with dozen artificial snowdrops and lily flowers.A cute chandelier hung above the visitors' sofa and the reception desk was enhanced with a small vase of orchid flowers. Above their desk hang a post-modern gold chandelier with a frosted glass orb, replacing the initial spotlights. An LED screen was opposite the visitors' lounge with entertaining videos. His secretary, Stan was equally lost for words as to the time and reason for the changes. "Oh, my, Abigail, which restaurant made this?" Isaac moaned at the taste of the food and asked. Abigail, flattered by the compliment, blushed at where she sat on the sofa, trying her best to avoid the two men but now she was pulled back again into talking."I made it," she mumbled."What?" Isaac exclaimed, mouthful. Most people winded away from the traditional M City style of preparing the creamy chicken pasta soup, inculcating modern ingredients but Abigail stuck to the original ingredients but only changed the cooking style. If she had been mistreated for so long, the good part was, it transmitted her improvising skills since she was always forced to do the cooking."Tony, is that correct?" Isaac screamed, not believing it. All he imagined was Abigail buying th

Brian chuckled and explained, “No. I’m just afraid. What if she had fought back or hit you with something?” Kisha was about to say that no one could defeat her in a fight but then, Brian added, “Or what if you got injured or fell? Don’t forget that you might be pregnant and not know it.” Seeing the direction of the conversation and the level of care in his voice, she was filled with remorse. Indeed, violence never pays. “I will control my temper better next time,” she vowed but Brian shook his head, extending her yard of confusion. “I’m not saying that you should not defend yourself or let people walk over you. What I mean to say is, if you want to hit someone, call me to do it for you. I will hate myself for you getting injured because I could not protect you,” he said with a sad countenance. Kisha smiled and replied, “I get it.” A month later, Brian went with Kisha to Kalen’s wedding. A day after, they were invited to dinner by their parents but it was hosted by Tony and Abigail.

“I want her fired. I don’t care about the nasty things she said to me but for her to call Aunt Abigail a housewife, enjoying Uncle Tony’s hard-earned money as a stay-at-home wife, I can’t bring myself to forgive or see her working in this company ever again,” Kisha explained painfully. Abigail was one of the women she respected so much even when she didn’t know that she would one day be getting married to her son. Seeing the seriousness and anger in her tone, Brian was upset that Linda had the guts to speak to Kisha like that but also, she involved his mother. From the chilliness emitted by the president when he was addressing Linda, even the managers were on edge in their seats. “You said that about my mother?” Brian asked in a low growl, staring daggers at the battered face that had turned extremely ugly. “And what did you call my wife?” His voice tone was becoming dangerous, as he tried to suppress his fury. “I…. I…. Mr.….” Linda was finding it hard to form a sentence from Brian

Kisha calmed herself. If anything, she did not want to cause Brian any form of embarrassment “Is there anything wrong with that? Companies reshuffle every time and you seem to be stuck in the same position for two years. You should be happy that I put in a word for you,” she leveraged, not refusing the accusation against her. Linda was distressed. She only guessed but it turned out to be true. Being Brian’s secretary was her only way of getting close to him. She’s been at it for the past two years and was not ready to give up. “I might just be a secretary but I am paid better than most people,” she said directly, hinting that she did not appreciate Kisha’s so-called help. Kisha stared at her with revolt. “Is that so?” she asked with feigned seriousness. “How about I ask Brian to give you a 20% raise?” She asked again. “Will that be enough? Look, I’m being nice because, in a way, you feel inconvenienced,” Kisha concluded. Seeing that her first plan was not working, and Kisha was not

Kisha boarded a taxi to Brian’s office. Since it was her first time there, she was a little lost. Luckily, she met the receptionist who recalled her from their wedding pictures online. “Mrs. Wright, how may I help you?” She let out a kind smile and asked. Kisha smiled back, saying, “I am here to see Brian.” “I have not seen him leave, which means he is in his office but his secretary should know more,” The receptionist said, as she glanced at the secretary’s office, which was transparent due to the glass compartment. Seeing it was not occupied, she leveraged, “That is Mr. Wright’s office but I don’t know where his secretary is. Perhaps to serve his morning coffee.” Hearing morning coffee, Kisha’s heart twitched a little. “Thank you,” she said to the receptionist, and without knocking, she opened the secretary’s office door, and went through to Brian’s. Indeed, Linda was serving Brian’s coffee, and seeing Kisha, Brian smiled. Linda did not know that someone had walked into the offic

  • President Tony, Let's Perfect Our Marriage   Chapter 9 – Since you trust him so much

“Mrs. Wright, I must say that you are a very stunning woman but what a bad choice you have for a husband,” Mr. Bennette said as soon as Brian walked out. Kisha raged. “Are you talking to me?” She grimaced and asked. Mr. Bennette found it cute the way she was acting hard to get. He said slowly, “It’s just the two of us here and like I was saying, I am wondering your reason for marrying him. If it’s money, then I’m equally rich.” Kisha’s lips pursed. Every respect she had for this man from before dropped to zero degrees. He was very attractive but lacked dignity. Perhaps if he knew who she was, he might think twice and not act like a fool anymore. “My father is Isaac Newton and I am the head of the Engineers Corporation. Do you still think that I married Brian because of money?” She asked with a serious unwavering gaze. Mr. Bennette froze a little. The next moment, he said, “Sorry, I misread that part but then, you are in love with him. I feel sorry for you but I am still available.

“Isn’t it too much? You must be tired after last night and what happened to the maids?” Brian hugged Kisha from the back and asked in a deep desirous voice. Kisha giggled and responded whilst platting, “I sent some of them to get groceries and the others to the garden. I just don’t want any of them walking around for a while.” Brian’s lips planted kisses around her ears before he sucked on her neck. “It smells delicious.” Kisha smiled tightly but did not respond when Brian asked again, “What about work?” “I called to inform them that I’d be late. So, we should eat now,” she said and carried the tray of good-looking lasagna, recalling how terrible it was when they tried to do it together before. “I called your mum to guide me through it but I’m not sure if it tastes like hers,” Kisha said with a sorry expression when Brian paused after chewing and swallowing a bite of the lasagna. She could not tell whether or not he liked it. Brian looked into her eyes and said, “You don’t have

Arriving at the villa, Kisha dragged Brian to his bedroom. When the door pushed open, her jaw dropped, and she froze. “Hey, you cheated. This is bigger and more luxurious than my room,” she nagged. Brian chuckled. How was it his fault when she refused to share their room and settled for another? “It's for the two of us but you didn’t want to share,” he said softly, not wanting her to feel more guilty than she already was. He wrapped his hand around her waist from behind and she turned to face him as he asked, “So, did you mean everything you said earlier?” Kisha pulled away and his eyes dulled. The next moment, she went around him and closed the door, locking it securely. Light returned to Brian’s eyes as he saw her admiring the room. He saw how her eyes dimed when she saw female clothes in the closet. The next moment, her pretty face contoured with a frown. “Yes, I meant it when you promised not to see other women. Perhaps I made a mistake,” she said in a saddened voice, while she

Kisha stilled for a second before processing the information. She felt like she was in a daze when she left the meeting without a word to her managers and drove to the hospital. Even when her secretary thought of driving her there, she had already left. Reaching the hospital, she was ushered to the doctor’s office as soon as she mentioned her name. “Why has it taken you so long to come?” The doctor asked. Kisha was slightly guilty, looking down, and said defensively, “I came as soon as I heard the news.” The doctor did not accept the excuse. The first person he expected to see after the accident was Kisha but she was rather the last to arrive. “The hospital called you with Brian’s number hours before then. Your number was on the speed dial when we needed to contact a relative. His parents and yours left an hour ago and said they would be back in the evening,” the doctor explained accusingly. Kisha’s guilt increased. Even her parents knew and she didn't. She wondered why they did not

As the days went by, Brian would call Kisha to check on her and if she refused to answer his call and did not return them after an hour or two, he would drive to the corporation. He was so pushy that he became a member of the corporation and no longer a visitor. Brian would always be in her office unannounced. The more she tried to push him away, the closer he got until Kisha began to accept the fact that Brian would always be a part of her life. She contributed little to nothing to the wedding but Brian had gotten to know her favorite things from her Aunty Rita in Zcity, and communicated them to his mother Abigail, who was the wedding planner, ensuring that everything went well. Betty, Brian’s twin sister, flew from Europe with her husband and daughter to attend the wedding, which was one of the most lavish in Mcity. Rita traveled from Zcity and the way she bonded with Kisha, arose a few jealous strings in Tanya. She was conflicted within herself if it was right
