Danielle's POVIt’s been the most peaceful week of my life. The kids have been going to school and Jack brings them to the company after school. Unlike before, I do not have my office in Bryan’s office, mine was in the place where it used to be. There was no news from Susan or Isabelle, there was no lurking around of Marks and Clara has been busy with the Bebe guy she met in Porto Rico. She had been blabbing about him to me over the phone for days. She told me they have been going out and doing things. I guess my best friend is getting nuts though, she did a videotape of how the guy was fucking her and sent it to me as proof. She just shared with me free porn which made me think twice about having her Brain checked out when she comes back. On the contrary, everyone in the company missed me. Perhaps it was the way I related with people, they seemed to find me simpler and easier to talk to instead of going to Bryan.Linda got promoted and now she is working on the branch where Bryan w
Danielle's POVI stood up and watched in awe as he stood by the door with a golden ring. Everyone had their flashes on and we were lying surrounded. I had least expected him to propose to me, I thought I was going to do that.Should I smile? Or laugh? Or freak out? I don’t know, I want to do it all at the same time. I covered my mouth with my left palm and looked around trying to avoid his face.“Look at me.”His voice was heavenly and I dared not ignore it. I looked up, very slowly and our eyes locked. He licked his lips with a sinister smile. “I’ll tell you again,” he said, “ you have to marry me!” Wasn’t requesting that I marry him, he was telling me I had to marry him. Of course I would, there is no doubt about that but I had a perfect plan on how I was going to propose to him. I searched my purse in haste, yeah, I should have it. Some weeks ago, I went to this ring shop, hoping I’d be the one to go down on my knees. Not too late. While looking for it, something fell off my bag t
Danielle's POVWe stood in front of each other and I tried to understand what he meant by I looked like his bride. The feeling I had was intense but I knew he was probably joking. He is my cousin after all and I have known him for many pranks. He broke the silence with a smile and walked forward to hug me. I would have missed me too if I were him. I haven’t seen him since that day at the airport and I know he must have been so worried and happy that I was still around. I hugged him back and stretched up to spank his head. He smiled and took my hand. “I have missed you like hell. Let’s go.” “Where are we going?” I asked but he didn’t bother to answer me. I got into the car and he drove off. “Where are we going?” I asked again. He smiled and looked at me. His look wasn’t seductive like they used to be when we were at home but it was plain to see that he missed me and our friendship.“To a park. We need to make this happen before you disappear and get married. You are a very weird kind
Danielle's POVI didn’t know Gabriel was a person of fashion until I entered the sitting room. His sitting room was big but not as big as Bryan’s. He had flowers everywhere and the telecom was a big screen that filled the whole wall. The wall adjacent to the TV was not exactly a wall because you could see your reflection just by looking at it. It’s more like one of those mirrors you’ll see in a dancing school.“I didn’t know you had such a great taste.” He smiled and led me through a hallway and he opened a big, tall golden door. It was a bedroom and it was decorated like it knew I was coming. He must have figured I love roses. Of course, he should still remember when we used to pick flowers for his mother back in their house when I was pregnant. “Here we are.”I dropped my bag and sat on the bed.” this is amazing, you should have told me you had something like this at your disposal. Anyway, what are we doing tonight?”“What do you want us to do? I suggest we play games. It helps a l
Bryan's POVI arrived back in New York around 6 AM. It’s been stressful and lying to Danielle made it a little bit interesting. She must have thought I went for a business proposal. I need to find a way to change her mindset before things start getting intense.I sat in my office and waited for her to arrive and throw herself at me. I didn’t give her a call or text since I was gone and she didn’t either, perhaps she thought I was too busy and she didn’t want to disturb my world with the businessmen. I have changed, I can feel it. How do I see a business proposal and leave it for later? I know how I used to be and business was always the first thing but now, I can barely breathe when Danielle is not around. She has become my business and she is the most important part of me.I am not exactly losing on my business because I have become lazy, Danielle still takes things important and she deals with anything that has to do with the company. She
Danielle's POV“Is this really me?” I asked the assistant as I stared at myself in the mirror. I never imagined I would look so elegant in a wedding dress. I always thought I was going to look like a mother of four in a wedding dress, didn’t know it was all about the dress.Everything is happening so fast, too fast. I didn’t need to ask him before I knew how I looked. The way he looked at me and said I looked like his wife made me blush a little. He took a picture and when I was done, I felt reluctant to take the dress off.“What do you think?” I asked him when I came back from the dresser. “Perfect. You just need a little bit of family heirloom to complete the look.” I smiled and followed him out of the shop. He got me a pair of glass shoes. Looking at it from a distance, I thought it was going to hurt once I put my leg in it. “I don’t think it’s a good idea but you paid for it already. I mean there are other types in the mall.”
Danielle's POVI couldn’t take my mind off Mark’s words. They ring in my head like a clang on a bell. Now I had a lot of what-ifs to ask but it seems odd. Bryan hasn’t been himself since the encounter with Mark.“I'm sure you know something I do not know. I think I know Bryan the way I should already and nothing is disputing it. The first time you came to my house, Linda, you told me you knew something about him. I think this is the best time to talk about it. Don't you think so?”I said to Linda over the phone. She is scoffed. “If you have Bryan with you, you do not have to worry about anything. He would protect you at all costs? I just can't wait for Mark to go to jail.”I am not sure if I wish the same. In a way, Mark isn't a bad person to me. He hasn't caused any form of harm to me and he hasn't made any advances. He might have been a bad person to other people but… I think he's just someone who is misunderstood.“How is your wedding dress? You are getting married in a few days.”
Isabelle's POVMom didn’t stop talking about Danielle till we got home. She kept asking me a lot of questions, personal questions I wouldn’t have an answer to. “When was she born? You say you went to school together, do you know her parents?” She enquired. I gave her a fake smile and she knew it was fake.“How am I supposed to know about that mom? Mom, this is the same Danielle who was dragging my boyfriend with me and now, she has to go herself and you were never in support of her. Suddenly, you met her and your taste and way of reasoning has changed.”She banked the table where she kept all the ingredients we bought from the mall. “Are you using this avenue to speak to me that way?”I looked away and focused on my fingers. “You have never shown such interest in me and yet, you saw Danielle and you were all eager to know more about her. You kept asking me questions I do not have answers for. What exactly do you want!” I half yelled. She looked at me blankly, surprise written all over
