"Ow! Slow down!" Hayle bit her lip as she gripped the clothes she was wearing. Her anxious face mixed with fear, holding back embarrassment on the bed with her legs wide open. This was the first time she posed like this.
"No need to be too tense, you've done this many times before." A man seemed to smile rather cunningly as he looked at Hayle's still furrowed face.
"Yes, but it's not me experiencing it firsthand," she said somewhat curtly. "Can you do it quickly, Jacob?" Hayle raised her head, trying to look towards the man performing his duty, ensuring he was doing it correctly.
"Patience, Miss Hayle. I also have to be careful." The man sounded quite calm.
"But haven't you done this many times before?" Hayle stared at the unadorned white ceiling. The coldness of the room made her shiver to the point where she had to clamp her lips to hide her chattering teeth. Contrary to before, this place used to be somewhere she frequented.
"Yes, I have done it many times. But not for a virgin." Jacob stood and looked at Hayle's still silent face. "Hayle, I ask you again, are you sure you want to do all this?" He peered to fully see the woman's expression, her body may be in this room, but her mind and heart wandered, far away from this place.
Those beautiful brown eyes gazed back at the man who seemed to look at her with sympathetic eyes between his legs. Somehow her tears flowed freely and her chest tightened. Perhaps it was the effect of the painkillers flowing in her blood. She tried to think of it that way. Even though she knew that wasn't what caused it.
She had to do it. There was no other way. This was the only way she could regain the love of Lucas, her former fiancé who had been with her for 11 years. But, three months ago, he decided to end it, then within a week he announced his engagement to the director's daughter where Lucas and Hayle worked. It was all a reality that still felt like a dream to Hayle.
"Yes! I'm sure. After one month of enduring painful injections. I can't just stop. Just do it quickly." Hayle said weakly. As if her throat had just been choked by something.
Jacob focused his gaze again on the woman's sorrowful face. He took a deep breath, if he wasn't close friends with this woman. He wouldn't want to do something that actually violated his code of ethics.
"You can. You still have a choice, Hayle. Being left by him doesn't mean the sky is falling." Jacob returned to sit in his examination chair. Looking towards his two nurses while nodding slowly. A sign that the procedure would be done soon.
Yes! For Hayle, when Lucas walked away from her life. Her whole world crumbled, the sunshine seemed to be taken away by the man, leaving her in an endless storm. Engulfed in grief and drowned in the pain of a broken heart. Her days were no longer passionate. They had no purpose.
She had become too dependent on him. For a woman who was alone in the world, finding true love and having Vang accompany her through difficult times, growing together, navigating the turbulent world with all its ups and downs. He was everything to Hayle. Her first love that she hoped would be her everlasting love. Eleven years together, how could Hayle let him go just like that especially when they were about to get married?
"Once again, you don't have to do this, Hayle. If you want to have a child from that bastard! why not just sleep with him directly?" Jacob tried to hold back his emotions. Who knows, can love make people this foolish. It's already clear that he was openly betrayed, yet this woman still wants to be with someone like him. Love does make people blind, deaf, and foolish. That's why he vowed not to involve himself in such matters. He was comfortable enough with himself.
"Yes, I have to do it." Hayle sobbed harder upon hearing Jacob's words. She didn't really want to do this, but..."You're surrendering your virginity to this scalpel. Truly wasting the most important thing for you." Jacob reluctantly proceeded. Tearing the woman's hymen in front of him so he could insert another instrument to create a pathway for insemination.
"I regret it. Maybe that's why he left me."
"Regret what?! Regret not letting him sleep with you for 11 years?! Why regret that? It's the greatest thing I know! You made yourself valuable, Hayle, unlike... Ah! I don't want to mention her name. I'm sure he seduced her with such things and Lucas, I'll say it again, he's not worthy of you. You were about to get married soon, but he chose that woman!" Jacob couldn't hold back anymore. As a friend who understands the path of this woman's life, he knows her qualities. Unfortunately, Jacob feels he is Asexual. Someone who has no interest in men or women.Hayle took a deep breath, then looked back at her friend. "Jacob, just do it."
"Hah! Alright! Hold on, it might sting a bit. I'll widen the entrance with a speculum." Jacob finally started the procedure to perform artificial insemination by inserting a catheter directly into Hayle's womb.
Hayle squeezed her clothes tighter, trying to endure the pain of feeling something invasive entering her body. It didn't actually hurt much because half of her body had been given painkillers. It just felt strange to her as she had never had anything enter her body before.
"Done!" Jacob's voice sounded loud as he stood up and removed his gloves. "You know what to do, right? Just wait four weeks to see if this works or not."
"It has to work!" Hayle's eyes stared at Jacob, who took a deep breath and exhaled shortly. He has long known how ambitious this woman is.
"You know the success rate of artificial insemination is only 37.9 percent. It doesn't even come close to 50 percent, so what if it doesn't work?" Jacob looked at the woman who had ruined her life just for a man who wasn't worthy at all. It's pathetic.
"We'll try again. We'll try with IVF." Hayle looked away. She didn't want to see the scornful look from her colleague.
"You're crazy, Hayle! Totally crazy! What makes you so sure that if you get pregnant with Lucas's child, he will cancel his marriage to Sonia and marry you? That man has been using you all this time, when he has a mountain of gold elsewhere, he'll jump from you."
"Because I know Lucas loves children very much. He won't refuse and will come back to me." Hayle stood firm in her stance. Hoping desperately that it would align with her thoughts.
She would do anything to get her man back. Even if it meant tearing her virginity on the operating table. She believed Lucas would come back to her! That man! Hayle was even out of words.
"Well, seeing your determination so strong. I sincerely hope your efforts succeed even though I still don't like that man. By the way, everything is done. You'll be taken to the recovery room soon. I'll get ready first." Jacob smiled sweetly at his friend. Patting Hayle's shoulder, which was just covered by the nurse who had assisted in the insemination procedure.
Hayle just nodded quietly, smiling sweetly. "Thank you."
"You're welcome." Jacob walked away from his special room in his insemination clinic. He stopped for a moment at the sink outside the room to wash his hands, a mandatory procedure before and after performing a procedure. And suddenly he was attracted by the behavior of one of his nurses who quickly approached him.
"Doctor?! Has Miss Hayle's procedure been completed?" the nurse asked, her face pale and her breath ragged.
"Yes, of course! It's just finished." Jacob furrowed his brow, looking at the nurse who appeared visibly troubled. As if she was cursing herself. "What's the matter?" Jacob asked, curious why his nurse was behaving like this? The nurse seemed quite afraid to say it. But, reluctantly, she had to say it. She approached Jacob, who seemed to understand the movements of his nurse who approached to whisper.
"Doctor, it seems that the sperm samples got mixed up."
"WHAT!!!" Jacob's voice filled the entire corridor of the clinic, and his face immediately contorted. How could this happen, and unlucky for him, why did it have to be in his hands and also involving his friend?
Damn it! What should he do now?
"How could this happen!" Jacob slapped his forehead hard, his face filled with worry. Of course, he was very shocked; this should never have happened at all. Not only had he violated his code of ethics by using someone's sperm without permission, but to make matters worse, something like this happened."We don't understand either. The label said Mr. Lucas's name. So we handed it over as usual. However, when we scanned the barcode, it showed Mr. J's." The nurse, whose face was pale and trembling, looked confused about how to explain it to Jacob.Although Jacob wasn't a doctor who liked to get angry, the mistake they made was indeed very serious. It was their standard operating procedure to ensure the samples they would use. Just because there had never been anything wrong with the sample labels before, they overlooked this."Who the hell is Mr. J?" Jacob furrowed his brow, looking towards the place where they had matched the samples with a photocopy of the labels in their administrativ
"Hey! Don't mess around!" Hayle shouted with held breath, wiping away the tears that remained. She slowly slid her feet off the edge of the bed, hanging them above the examination table. With a tense expression and her hair standing on end due to the thoughts racing through her mind, Hayle dared to slide down even though the middle part of her thighs still hurt. "I-I-I'm not afraid of you! Show yourself!" Hayle shouted again.Although if someone suddenly appeared behind that door with the images now in her mind, the first thing Hayle would do would surely be to faint. As strong as she was in facing strange things as a doctor, she was still afraid if a woman covered in blood without a head or with hollow eyes suddenly appeared."Hey! Hayle!""AAAA!!!!" Hayle screamed with all the surprise, fear, and heart palpitations in her voice. Even when the figure in white showed itself, Hayle immediately closed her eyes. She didn't want to see who was actually in front of her."Hayle! Hayle! Calm
"Her name is Doctor Hayle Miller. In short, she's an orphan. She works at St. Joseph's Memorial Hospital as an obstetrician. She recently broke up with her boyfriend a few months ago and is now undergoing a pregnancy program to win him back," explained a man with a Latin appearance, summarizing all the information he had gathered about Hayle. The man sitting at a large polished teakwood desk immediately tossed the folder with Hayle's photo in front of him. He even wiped his hands again with a white handkerchief from inside his suit jacket."Disgusting."The words slipped from his flat lips. Just as cold as the glare of his eyes as he looked at Hayle's photo in the file, continuously wiping his hands as if they were tainted with filth."But I believe she just wants to get back with the man who was with her, Sir. They've been together for eleven years and he left suddenly."The only person who dared to speak up and express his opinion was his assistant, Roberto."Still. A woman who does
"Ow! Hot!" Hayle finally noticed the milk spilling onto her hand. It was enough to make her hand turn red. She had deliberately kept it at 70 degrees Celsius to ensure the milk’s nutrients remained intact."I'm sorry for startling you." Lucas quickly grabbed Hayle's hand and led her to the sink, intending to administer first aid by running cold water over the burn. This sudden act of care surprised Hayle. For three months, she had desperately sought his attention, sending countless messages, calling him almost every second, and searching for him everywhere. None of it had yielded any results. But now, after Hayle had stopped bothering him for a moment, focused on her plans, and disappeared from his sight, he suddenly started showing his old caring self again. This almost left Hayle astonished. Her hopes surged, but she tried to contain them. Was this what they called a bond between a father and his unborn child?"I heard you were sick?" Lucas asked, looking at the woman beside him.Hi
Hayle's eyes widened as she tried to read the mysterious man who stopped just a few feet in front of her. His gaze remained unrelenting. But, just as suddenly as their encounter began, the man walked away without a word, leaving behind a whirlwind of unanswered questions. For a few moments after the man disappeared, the dark aura he brought with him lingered. Hayle had to catch her breath, clutching her still-pounding chest. It might have seemed exaggerated, but that's how she felt."Doctor? Here's your steak.""Oh! Yes?!" Hayle was startled by the cafeteria attendant's arrival, who frowned again. "Thank you." Hayle tried to smile, but her eyes drifted back to the corridor where the man had disappeared.Who was he?Why did she feel so threatened?Hayle shook her head again. Ever since she started this journey, she had become more anxious about her surroundings. Yes, the man was nobody, and it was just a coincidence that he looked at her! She didn’t know him, they had never met, and on
"Ahk! Who does she think she is, acting like that towards me!" Sonia fumed as she watched Hayle walk away."There, there, darling. Why are you here all of a sudden?" Lucas asked, approaching his fiancée, gently holding her arms and rubbing them softly, trying to calm her down.Sonia narrowed her eyes and shot him a sharp look, her strong features becoming even more pronounced with her stern expression."Why shouldn't I be here? This hospital belongs to my family! What were you two doing in here?!" Sonia snapped. Of course, she felt extremely jealous. Lucas and Hayle had just ended their relationship a few months ago. She was naturally afraid that Lucas might still have feelings for Hayle, and even the slightest provocation from Hayle could make Lucas go back to her. She didn't want to lose the most perfect man in her eyes."Nothing. We weren't doing anything. We just happened to be in the same room. You don't need to be angry. Haven't I chosen you, Sonia?""That woman must have done i
"Should we try to wake her up, Sir?" Roberto asked, accompanying Jaxter in watching Hayle, who was still deeply asleep on the bed. They kept a considerable distance to observe her. That was all the man had been doing so far."No need. Have you found out who sent them?" Jaxter asked, looking at Roberto slowly."Yes. It's the fiancée of Miss Hayle's ex-boyfriend. She asked them to teach Miss Hayle a lesson. She is the daughter of the director who owns the hospital where Miss Hayle works," Roberto explained what he had found out.Jaxter just nodded slowly and stood up from his seat. "Warn her and arrange for security here until she wakes up.""Yes, Sir." Roberto immediately followed Jaxter's steps as he now walked out of the room, leaving Hayle alone in the hotel room."How could you not do anything to her?!" shouted Sonia with an angry face. She thought the thugs she had hired had given Hayle a good lesson to make her regret ever defying Sonia."What do you mean how could?! Our lives we
"God, I'm doomed!" Jacob hit his head hard, the sound echoing through his office. His body slumped into his office chair, his face a picture of panic and bewilderment. "How can this be negative! Ahk! Whose child is this?" he muttered in a panic. He felt like dying right then. His panic surged suddenly, making his body feel incredibly hot. Whose seed had been planted in his friend's womb if the DNA test results between Lucas and the baby were only 24%?"Damn it! What should I do?" Jacob ruffled his always neat hair, trying to think of a way to prevent this situation from getting worse. Unfortunately, his mind was drawing a blank. How was he supposed to tell Hayle this?Jacob was silent for a moment. His face showed that he was processing all this information in his head, which felt like it was about to explode. Then, suddenly, his tense face wrinkled, as if he had just thought of something.Yes! Why not do that! That was the best solution. Hayle would get what she wanted, and no one wo
"How was it?" asked Hayle approaching her husband. Seeing Jacob only gave her a faint smile. Of course it made Hayle very curious. How did the man meet his wife.Actually Hayle really wanted to witness it. But, she had her own business to take care of Zave's lecture that she had promised a few weeks ago. Therefore, she could not cancel this."They just talked for a while." Jaxter answered his wife's curiosity."And then? What did they talk about? Did they talk about bringing Rui?" Hayle with a very curious face. There was actually one thing that made Hayle a little worried about all this. They were going to take Rui and keep the two of them apart. Because after all Hayle -she knew this was very selfish- had taken care of and loved Rui with all her heart."I don't know what they're talking about. I wasn't inside with them.""Ha?" Hayle wrinkled her forehead with an incredulous face. "Why aren't you even with them. I want to know what they're talking about." Hayle was really upset why e
"You put her in the Isolation room?" Jacob asked with a deep frown on his face."It's better to keep her from escaping. There are many things that will happen if she gets out of here. I don't think I need to explain, do I?" Jaxter seemed to just stare straight at the hallway that would lead them to a room that was quite secluded there.Jacob played with his lips. He slowly walked, fortunately Jaxter was understanding enough to match his pace."Thank you for hosting her here." Jacob lifted the corner of his lips before glancing at the man whose facial water had not even changed. "I know that you intentionally put her here for her own good too. You must know that her enemies are everywhere. Even my family is after her.""I just wanted to fulfill my wife's wish. To live in peace." Jaxter didn't seem to care what Jacob said. They stood in front of the steel door that was tightly closed."You can imprison him anywhere. Maybe underground, in a secluded place. You could have even just elimin
"Rui a lot of things happened before you were born. Both your adoptive family and your biological family. We may not be able to be like most parents. Our previous lives will leave you dumbfounded. But, you don't have to think about what happened before you were born. I just want to say, whatever ever happened to me, I will do it again as long as I can get a daughter like you." Jacob held the princess's hand very tightly. Staring at her hazel nets that looked so beautiful and drowning."I knew you would ask about what happened to your real mother." Jacob pursed his lips. He took a deep breath and grabbed something from the nightstand drawer beside his bed. That made him frown. "This is a picture of your mother. I don't want you to not know her."Jacob handed over the cell phone he took earlier. He asked Roberto to find any photos of Ice that might still exist. And, luckily, there was one of her when she was still undercover in Laurence's group.Rui took the cell phone in her father's ha
"Eh? You." Rui was startled when she came out of her father's hospital room and saw the figure of a man who seemed to be walking towards her place."Yes. I heard your father was taken to the hospital, is he okay?" asked Arzhiel who immediately came to this hospital when he heard the news."Yes. But he's fine, he just woke up." Rui smiled faintly at this man who could make her heart feel uneasy."So, why aren't you inside?" Arzhiel wrinkled his forehead. "Do you want to do something?""No, I didn't. Mrs. Hayle and Clay's father wanted me to go out for a moment. They want to talk to Jacob's father. So I'll just go out." Rui said it in a slightly mischievous tone. I don't know, it's hard to act casual in front of people we like."Oh, I see, so I can't go in there yet either." Arzhiel looked at the door of the room. "I saw this little cafe near the hospital garden. It's not far, want to wait there instead?"Rui hearing that was a little startled and raising her eyebrows, she nodded slowly
"Rui ...." Hayle stared at her daughter to which Rui immediately responded."Yes? Mom?" Rui showed a subtle streak on her face, following the question that fell from her lips."I know that Rui probably has many things to ask. But, is it okay if you, Mom, and Jacob's father talk first?" Hayle gently tried to give understanding to her daughter. She knew that it was not difficult to usually talk to this sweet girl.Rui pursed her lips and nodded for a moment. Although there were indeed a lot of questions in her head but Rui couldn't force herself to stay there. One of her principles said that it was better not to know what she shouldn't know. Or maybe not yet.Jacob smiled proudly at how the princess behaved. Although he was reluctant to release the delicate grip of his daughter. But it was something they had to do. The three of them stared at Rui's departure who soon disappeared behind the door of the infirmary."I'm glad you guys took care of her to become such a great girl. I don't th
The door slowly opened. Making all the hearts of the people outside the door beat faster. When Jacob saw the figure of a woman sitting at the end of a fairly narrow room, on an old-looking bed. Curled up as if frightened with her hair loose over her face.Jacob frowned, not really having any expectations about how the woman who was predicted to be his wife was doing."Ice." Hayle walked into the room. Leaving the two men who seemed to be still observing the situation inside Ice's hospital room.As usual, Hayle sat at the end of the bed closest to her. Always trying to communicate well with the woman who never even looked at her."I'm here again, but this time I'm not alone with my husband. Would you like to see who came with us?" Hayle said it as gently as possible. It was always like that if she was dealing with this woman because according to Hayle, that was how to treat someone like this Ice.But, even though Hayle had seduced the woman. Of course Ice didn't seem to understand what
"Good morning!" the cheerful, friendly voice filled the room where Hayle was on duty, if not the kitchen. The woman raised her eyebrows and smiled slightly. "Good afternoon, Jac.""Yes! Yes! No need to emphasize it. But it's early in Alaska. I guess it is." Jacob rubbed his face. He still looked sleepy."The time difference between here and there is only an hour Jac, so I guess it's already daytime in Alaska." Hayle shook her head. Even at this age, she still couldn't let go of her innocence."Yeah. Every now and then make me happy Hayle by just following what I say." Jacob made a little annoyed face at being corrected by this woman."Eat your breakfast, or actually brunch. After that take your medicine. You have to take it, right?" Hayle said. Yesterday she saw him taking his medicine after their warm dinner."Not really. It's just for pain relief. Yesterday's flight made my leg ache, so I took it. It's quiet, even though four bullets have gone through my body. I'm overall very healt
"Why did you say something like that earlier Jax?" asked Hayle who glanced at her husband as she rubbed lotion all over her body after she finished putting on her clothes after cleaning herself."About what?" Jaxter took off the shirt he was wearing one by one. After his wife it was time for him to take a shower."About Ice."Jaxter did not answer immediately. Tickling the curiosity and attention of Hayle who immediately tried to see what happened to her man's face."Do you still suspect that Ice might betray us again?" Hayle asked."There's no harm in being on guard. We already have the life we dreamed of all this time, I won't let a single person ruin it." Jaxter glanced at his wife with a rather sharp gaze. Making Hayle unable to say anything. In a life like the one they lived. Tranquility was a high price they had to pay with so many sacrifices before."So about when will you let us see him. I'm sure Jacob and Rui will want to see Ice." Hayle tried to be cooperative with her husba
"At first I can't remember anything, I woke up in a hospital bed in Hawaii. All I knew was that my whole body was in a lot of pain and I couldn't get out of bed at all. The doctor who treated me said that I had been in a coma for more than half a year." Jacob recounted what he experienced after what happened to him. Everyone in the house was silent, they were listening to what this man was saying. Even so, his hand continued to hold Rui's hand."Then when did you get your memories?" asked Arzhiel who was even more curious about this man's story. Moreover, what he knew was that this man was not in an accident as told by his parents. Instead, he was attacked by people they didn't know."It took a long time for me to remember. About 3 years after the incident, I had a serious memory disorder. I even forgot everything. And, suddenly I woke up with a terrible headache, then I remembered my name and some glimpses of my previous life.""At that moment you remembered Rui?" asked Hayle now who
