Still fake it

The drive to school was filled with silence, neither one of us wanting to break the comfortable silence. After about twenty minutes we arrived at the school and I squeezed Ethan's hand softly, signalling that I wanted him to let go of my hand.

He sighed heavily and slowly lowered his hand from mine, but kept his hand placed firmly in my own, gripping my hand tightly. I stared out the window as we pulled into the parking lot, taking note of all of the students making their way into school.

We both unbuckled ourselves and exited the car after grabbing our bags from the backseat. As soon as I closed the door I realized Ethan wasn't beside me anymore. I looked over my shoulder and spotted him talking to a teacher by the entrance. I shrugged my shoulders before turning around and making my way into the building.
