But last night Ethan seemed like he hadn't slept a wink. When I'd gotten ready for work today I had walked into the bathroom to brush my teeth and realized that there were dark purple circles under his eyes.

Like, big ones. I knew something was definitely up when I walked past Ethan in the living room. I could tell by the way that he avoided my gaze and the way that he pulled out the couch cushions and put them on the floor. I didn't push him though. I guess he had his reasons for doing whatever he was doing.
