Rose's POV

Lost in my thoughts, I barely registered the murmurs and whispers around me as the meeting came to an end. The hall began to empty, and I found myself standing alone in the midst of the departing crowd. It was as if the weight of my emotions had rendered me invisible, an insignificant figure lost in the sea of shifting bodies.

With a heavy sigh, I turned towards the exit, my feet dragging on the polished wooden floor. The chilly night air greeted me as I stepped outside, offering a temporary respite from the suffocating atmosphere within. I clutched the edges of my jacket tighter around my trembling form, my breath forming small clouds in the crisp evening air.

As I made my way toward the parking lot, my footsteps echoed in the silence, matching the hollow rhythm of my heart.
