Rose's POV

"I'll be fine, Mom," I reassured her. I hugged my mother goodbye and made my way to the car, feeling anxious and unsure about what the future held.

The drive to the lake was a long one, and my mind was racing the entire time. I couldn't help but think about the last time I had been to this place with Brandon. We had been so in love back then, but things had changed so quickly.
