Chapter Twelve

Maya’s POV

I looked down at the red tiny dress as my lips wobbled. Maybe I shouldn't have agreed to be taken as collateral for the crimes my father never committed but I got more brave when I remember that I sacrificed myself to make sure that my family is safe because I love them.

My head is filled with different thoughts as my trembling hands held onto the handle of the dress; I stepped out of it carefully and let it fall to the ground;

My white skin came into view; I had never been naked in front of a man before, and the first man I would show her nakedness to was this beast. I wished I wasn't this vulnerable, I wished my father had made the right choices and didn’t get himself into trouble and I also wished that Jacob was a more decent man then I wouldn’t be here in this fucked up position.
