Chapter Eighteen

Maya's PoV

My heart raced as the heavy storm became so intense that it made me and Aaron all wet to the bone as our clothes cling to our body, I didn't say a word again as we finally reached the small cosy place that looks like an inn.

Finally, we entered the cosy single room in the midst of nowhere.Our breaths were ragged, our clothes clinging to our bodies like a second skin. As we sought refuge in the room, we left the big black horse Stormy outside under the little balcony of the Inn. Aaron gave his house a little tap before he led us inside.

I wanted to turn and started running, it was just a thought but Aaron spoke.

“Don't even think of that”

“I wasn't thinking of running in this heavy scary storm” I said defensively while crossing my arms.

Aaron gave me a pointed look and with a sigh of relief, Aaron shrugged off his jacket, his movements deliberate and focused.
