Chapter 281

Chelsey was about to say something, but Lucas yelled at her.

"I told you to get out! Don't you understand?" he roared.

"Or should I call the guards to force you out of here?"

Tears pricked Chelsey's eyes as they threatened to fall.

"Okay…" she said.

"I'll leave."

She told herself that everything was fine. Lucas was alive, after all. It didn't matter if he forgot all about her.

She'd make him remember.

Chelsey and Fred then left the ward together.

Micah, still panicking, stayed in the ward and tried to help Chelsey by saying, "Luke, she's the woman you love the most. You put your life on the line for her. How could you forget her just like this?"

Lucas swallowed. He spoke too loudly just now, and his chest badly hurt.

He said hoarsely, "Go and check if she's left."

"Huh? Okay," said Micah, walking over to the door.

Peeking out, he couldn't see Chelsey anymore, so he returned to report to Lucas.

"She's gone," he said, visibly upset.

"That's good."
