When everything was calmer, I left the room, with Jack trailing behind me, totally dejected, giving the others their respective space to recover from what had happened.

I had completely forgotten the reason why I had gone to fetch that idiot dragging his feet beside me; it had vanished from my mind due to that tragic incident. How important it was to mention to him what I had been hiding from him for days on end.

However, every time I tried to even mention it, something happened. Perhaps it was fate correcting me that it was best to keep silent, but unfortunately, a great remorse invaded my body, inhibiting me from acting naturally, so I urgently needed to confess to him as soon as possible.
