Chapter Five: Black card

Hazel’s lips shivered profusely as she struggled to speak up, her eyes locked with the huge man’s eyes. Suddenly she heard his voice

“Is that your woman? The huge man asked Zeus who was sitting nonchalantly on the chair with a gun to his head. Zeus' eyes turned sharply in Hazel’s direction, he gritted his teeth at her nervous state.

“Leave her out of this, who are you? Zeus asked the huge man with a stern face. The man scoffed and went to sit down in front of him “I didn't come here to fight, Zack sent his warnings”

Mark’s face darkened at the mention of Zack, he stared at his friend with the expression of “I told you, dummy” on his face. Zeus saw his friend’s face but ignored it

“How did you get past my bodyguards?

The man laughed gently “Dont worry, they are sleeping right now”

Hazel hid behind the kitchen door and looked at the three men nervously in the living room. She stared at them as they lowered their voice to prevent her from hearing. After some minutes, Hazel saw the huge man stand up and went close to her husband to whisper in his ear. The huge man left the room with so much confidence.

As soon as the man left, Zeus stood up and went straight to the kitchen. He took her hands and led her out of the kitchen. Hazel followed her husband behind as he made her sit on the dining chairs. He held her hands and stared at her scaredly face, as he was about to speak up, Hazel interrupted him.

“Zeus, are***you**” she stammered and pressed her lips against each other. Zeus stared at her with confusion written all over his face and signaled to her to continue talking. Hazel swallowed her spit anxiously before opening her mouth to continue.

“Are you some kind of criminal?

Mark busted out laughing at Hazel’s question, he stared at her innocent look and wondered how his friend didn't love her.

At her question, Zeus stared at her with a blank face. He felt speechless, and after some seconds, he spoke up coldly “Is that what you think of me?

Hazel shivered slightly at his words.

“You've known me for years and this is what you could come up with? Zeus continued. Hazel shook her head profusely and quickly talked back “Zeus, don't misunderstand me. I mean, what could a man be doing in your house with a gun and you didn't attempt to call the police”

Zeus dropped her hands and sighed loudly, he didn't feel the need to explain things to her. He felt like she didn't deserve to know such things about him.

“Hazel, I'm disappointed in you. Even Anya won't think this way! Zeus said coldly as he stood up. Both Hazel and Mark stared at him confusedly and felt like his words were not necessary.

Hazel responded annoyingly “Do you feel the need to bring up that slut?

Zeus replied “She is not a slut Hazel, watch your mouth”

Hazel stared at her husband with anger brimming in her heart, she stood up and walked past him to where he was sitting earlier. And without saying anything she took his black card and left the mansion.

Zeus didn't say anything and went to sit with his friend back. “Zeus” Mark called out but at the sight of Zeus’s cold eyes, he swallowed his words.

It was already late in the afternoon when Hazel left the mansion, she looked around for a taxi as she was extremely feeling hungry. After a short while, a taxi stopped for her, and she entered. The taxi man stared at the beautiful young lady in the back seat, he stared at her face through the mirror before he finally opened his mouth to ask

“Ma’am, where are you heading to? He asked with the best attitude he could come up with.

Hazel who didn't notice the driver’s gaze on her suddenly turned her head when she heard his question. She didn't know where exactly she was heading but she knew she was starving. “Uhmm, please can you take me to any good restaurant around?

The driver nodded with a smile. After some minutes, he stopped at a restaurant. Hazel looked at the place through the mirror and found that place looked small and cheap compared to the restaurant she had always been to. She cleared her throat before she spoke up. “Sir, can we go to a more luxurious restaurant?

The driver stared at her with confusion on his face, his eyes wandered at her body, and felt more confused at her outfit. Hazel who didn't even plan to leave the house at that moment wore just a jean and a top and styled her hair in a ponytail. But her beauty still outshines every other lady regardless of her outfit.

“Ma’am, the luxurious restaurants here are very expensive. Are you sure about it? The driver asked.

Hazel smiled and responded “I get you now, just let me drop here” She took her phone and operated on it for a bit before handing it over to the driver to put in his account details. The driver put in his details and his pay. After the transaction, Hazel got out of the car and went into the restaurant.

As she entered, no one paid any extra attention to her except one of the workers who led her to her seat.

“Welcome ma'am, what would you like to have? The worker asked with a professional smile on her face. Hazel took the menu placed on the table and pointed out some dishes.

While waiting for her food, she checked through her apps but there were no notifications except from her readers. Some minutes later, Hazel's food arrived and she dug in almost immediately. The food tasted nice to her as she devoured it without paying attention to any other thing. When she was done, she stood up and went to pay, Hazel removed her husband’s black card and placed it on the table in front of the workers. The ladies stared at each other suspiciously and wondered where a common lady like her got the card. They rarely saw someone use a black card in their restaurant since no wealthy person would eat at their place.

Hazel creased her brows at their attitude, she was about to talk when one of the ladies turned around to make a call. “What is going on here? Hazel spoke up.

The other lady looked at her with a scornful expression as if judging her “Where did you get this card, you thief?

Hazel opened her mouth at her words, she finally understood the reason the taxi driver looked down on her also. But she was pissed off at their rudeness so she decided to treat that first. Hazel crossed her arms.

“Is this how you treat your customers? You could have just asked politely if you were that curious! Hazel said while raising her voice. The lady responded rudely “Oh please, I wondered how you were able to take Mister Zeus’s card”

The other lady who finished making her call said “I'm sure she was one of his mistresses, you should be so ashamed of yourself for stealing! Just fuck him and leave girl.

Hazel opened her mouth in shock, her heart dropped at the thought of the amount of ladies Zeus would have slept with. For those ladies to be addressing her as one of them. Hazel didn't feel the need to argue and just said “I don't have anything to say to you both, just do the transaction and let me leave here”

The ladies scoffed loudly and didn't respond to her, Hazel who was so annoyed to the core was about to shout at them when she noticed some men coming towards her.

“Good evening Ma’am, you will need to come with us” One of the men in a black outfit spoke up

Hazel looked at them confusedly “Who are you guys?

The guy spoke up again and removed his ID card “We are policemen and these ladies here informed us about having CEO Zeus' black card illegally”

Hazel could not believe her ears, she never thought mixing with people in a new country could be so hard. She took out her phone without bothering to talk and dialed Zeus’s contact. After so many attempts, Zeus didn't pick up his call and that frustrated her. She spoke up after some minutes of trying.

“I just called Zeus now but he is not picking up, can I pay by transfer and leave here”

They stared at her in mockery when she claimed she could not get through to Zeus.

“Who do you think you are deceiving ma’am? Don't worry about the pay, you need to come with us for stealing CEO Zeus’s card” One of the policemen said.

Hazel's face looked so much confused and her heart was beating fast at the embarrassment. She thought of how much power her husband held for something like this to occur. She sighed loudly and said

“My husband will deal with you all I promise!

Everyone looked at her as she mentioned the influential CEO as her husband.
