Eric's POV

"No! Get back here!"

My eyes widened as I watched Emily run out of Max's grip.

With a snap of my fingers, the men with me and Tony, who had all been battered on the ground, rose to their feet.

The police who had come also swung into action.

Max pointed his gun in Emily's direction, but she ran in a zigzag motion, confusing him for a moment.

I wrapped my arms around her immediately she threw herself at me, holding her in a tight embrace and never to let go.

The police and my men bought that time to attack Max, who wasn't expecting the sudden apprehension.

He struggled under the firm grip of Tony's men, who held both his hands behind his back.

With a loud growl, he heaved and huffed, almost breaking free, but Tony pounded on him before he could flee.

Emily sobbed profusely as she hugged me tightly.

"I'm sorry," she whispered, sobbing. "I'm sorry I ran away. I never meant for any of this to happen."

I gave her a small reassuring smile while kissing her forehead.
