Alicia's POV

I stood in the centre of the living room, my mind blank for an entire minute.

Emily's stood there, practically blaring smoke out of her nostrils as she stared at me, but things seemed to be happening so fast.

After a while minute, I finally processed what she had just said.

My brother was shot. Lola was a fraud. My mother had passed out, but what was I supposed to do now?

What should I attend to first?

"No! No! No!" I screamed, grabbing Emily by the shirt. "Tell me you're lying."

Her face was point blank as she stared right back at me with blazing eyes. I could swear that she was hanging on a thin thread from killing me on the spot.

"I would have been able to tell you that I am lying if you had actually paid attention to me when I came here the first time," she snapped, pushing my arms away from her shirt.

Tears found their way down my cheeks on their own accord, and my lips quivered.
