Chapter 84: Meeting the Parents

Although I offered Ethan the guest room, he preferred to stay at a hotel. That's where I left him before coming home; the place wasn't too far away.

Apparently, the only thing Ethan brought with him, besides himself, was his wallet. So he said he needed to buy some things. Maybe, apart from being a jerk, he was also a bit crazy. Well, with that body, I could overlook a few minor details.

My parents were in the kitchen, laughing about something. As always, they seemed happier than ever. I stopped at the door and watched the two of them, feeling my heart warm at the sight.

Jane and Matthew Brown used to say that I had been the miracle in their lives, as my mother could never conceive, but the truth is, they were my miracle. And just looking at them was enough to make me want to cry. I couldn't be more grateful, and maybe that's why I never cared to know who my biological parents were.
