Chapter 50: When Walls Crumble

ELLIE

Outside, I dragged him to the side of the property. Leaning against the stone wall, I began to unzip his pants.

"No," he said, taking hold of my hands. "We can't do this." Was he rejecting me? It made no sense.

"God! You don't know what you want," I said, trying to escape the prison I had put myself in between his body and the wall, but he held me in place. "Let me go." His hands reached for my face.

"Oh, Ellie... you have no idea how much I want this," he said, his eyes fixed on mine, looking tormented. "But as much as I desire you in an almost insane way, I can't do this with you drunk, because you'll regret it tomorrow."

"I appreciate your concern, but I know exactly what I'm doing. So stop acting like you haven't had as much or more to drink than I have."

Okay, part of that was a lie. I didn't know what I was doing or how I would deal with it afterward, and maybe the alcohol was indeed making me throw caution to the wind. But what I did know was that I wanted this.
