"So what we get drunk, so what we smoke weed, we're just having fun. We don't care who sees..so what we go out, that's how it's supposed to be.. living young and wild and freeeee..."Pink is singing and dancing towards Nathan and his friend Jude when Lydia and Ann playfully pull her back.Pink frowned. "Hey, hey, hey, heyyyy...what?" "We know what you are up to." Lydia rolled her eyes.Ann chipped in. "No way! That guy is a proud snob, shoot your shots else where girly.""What guy are you talking about? I am only trying to have fun." Pink opened a bottle of water drinking."I know Nathan, you are not even his type of girl." Lydia scoffed.Pink rolled her eyes. "What is his type?""Thick." Ann said. "He likes thick crazy girls. Girls that are fun to be with."Pink dropped the bottled water, folding her arms. "By 'fun to be with' you mean being an alcoholic and..."Lydia didn't let her finish, she interrupted sharply. "Not drinking alcohol doesn't make you a better human and I suggest you give alcohol a chance today."Pink shaked her head disapprovingly. "There is nothing special about alcohol, I know I am not missing out.""Do you like him or Nick?" Ann questioned. "Nick?" Pink asked surprisingly.Ann nodded. "Yes. Nicholas Johnson, that plays football in school."Pink smiled, then spoke hesitantly, but honestly. "I've always liked Nick as a friend. You were the one who had the crush on him last year. To me he's always been just a good friend.""And Nathan?" Ann continued. "I don't know." Pink bit her lips. "I guess I'd like to have him as a boyfriend, but I don't know for sure how he'll feel about me."Ann's eyes opened in disbelief. "You just met him today!!""No, no, no." Lydia said, crossing her arms in disapproval." Nathan is a snob. Don't set yourself up for rejection.""Duh.." Pink looked at Nathan quickly, then turned back to face her friends. "Are you a mind reader?"Pink ignores her friends and dances to meet Nathan. They both dance erotically, she gives her friends the side eye while sticking her tounge out. Ann and Lydia try to hide the strange jealousy nibbling at their stomach."Mind if we take a picture together?" A photographer at asked Ann, from behind.Ann turned to face him. "Me?""Yes, you." The photographer replied. "I'm a photographer and I have a modeling agency.""Well," Ann looked at Lydia. "Only if she's joining."The photographer smiled. "Ofcourse, get in the pool then, that's the concept."Ann and Lydia dived into the water, splashing water on each other excitedly. ***Past 11pm, and the beach party is over. Some teenagers drive off with their friends in their fancy cars while the rest of the teenagers enter a big bus made available by the party organizers to drop everyone home. After a long drive back to town, the bus stops at a junction. Pink and Nathan come down from the bus waving good bye to their friends. They walk inside a lonely street while the bus zooms off with it's noisy passengers. As they walk inside the street, one can hear their laughter echoing down the lonely street."Hey," Nathan broke the silence. "Are you okay?"Pink smiled. "Yeah, I'm fine. Do I look other wise?"Nathan smiled. Damn it! He had a very charming smile. "You look drunk.""No!!! I'm just tipsy." Pink defended. "What's the difference?" Nathan asked, reaching out to hold her. "Give me your hand."They both continue to walk holding hands. After a long walk Pink stops in front of a small fashionable house."Thank you for walking me home. I appreciate." Pink said, smiling.Nathan smiled back. "It's no big deal. I made you drink, I had to be sure you are home safe. It's the least I can do. Not that you look scared even though it's past midnight.""What's the worst that can happen?"They both laughed heartily, realizing nothing new would happen."Hug?" Pink hoped she wouldn't get turned down."Sure." Nathan said, hugging Pink. "Good night."Nathan walks down the road smiling. Pink gently pushes the gate open. She tip toes inside the compound and quietly locks the gate behind her. She turns to walk inside the building only to see her younger brother.Taking a deep breath, relieved, she said, "Dalvin...why are you standing there looking at me?""My darling big sister.." Dalvin laughed. "I am enjoying the fright on your face."Pink frowned irritatedly. "Yeah! I was worried. I thought you slept off and forgot to leave the gate open for me." "And what if I did?" Dalvin asked."Jump the fence! What else is there to do?"Dalvin laughed loudly. "Where is my parcel?""Shhhh...are you deliberately trying to get me in trouble?" She handed over to him a small bag."Yuuppp!" Dalvin smiled, looking inside the bag, he suddenly frowned. "A piece of cake, with a small bottle of Pepsi?""A piece of cake at MacDonald's!" Pink snapped. "I spent five thousand naira buying that piece of cake and small bottle of Pepsi. Mitcheeeew, ungrateful soul."Dalvin came closer to Pink, sniffing her dress to confirm his suspicion. "Yikes! You stink, when did you start drinking alcohol?" "I'd appreciate it if you mind your business." She said, walking inside the house."Mom knows you snuck out, you are in big trouble.""Whatever! Go and read your books, you will be in bigger trouble if you fail your exams this semester." *** Kim and Jennifer are quietly enjoying their dinner of fish and chips. Kim is focused on her laptop. Their vacation in France, is so far going great. Bryan, Andre and Gentle, walk into the restaurant, they sit two tables away from Kim's.A waiter takes their order and after a while they start eating. Bryan removes his hood. Jennifer notice and recognizes Bryan, as he sings into the salt shaker and kick his legs under the table in one of his weird little dances."Kim." Jennifer tapped Kim. "Kim!"Kim didn't look up, she was still focused on her MacBook. "Are you done? Please give me a minute, I am not done with my meal."Jennifer frowned. "Who cares? Kim look over there...Bryan. Bryan is here.""Who is Bryan?""Our Afropop celebrity singer, BRYAN. The lover of every beautiful girl on Earth."Kim looked up, stretching her eyes to see Bryan. "Oh, so he now wears a purple wig? Great!""We both know he doesn't wear wigs. That is his hair from brith, he only styles it with different colors." She frowned. "I prefer the blue dye his stylist used on him in his last music video." She paused then continued, "Kim, today is our lucky day.""Your lucky day, not mine.""Listen, you are going to help me. I am going to Bryan's table right now to say hello, take pictures and get an autograph. Please do the needful.""Please don't include me in this charade, I beg you." Kim straightened. "Please.""It's not like you won't make money from it." She said, then walked to Bryan's table."Jennifer, Jenny..." Kim called out. "Don't.." She stopped when she saw Jennifer was already at their table."Bryan, hi." She smiled.Bryan looked up. "Hi.""My name is Jennifer, I'm from the mother land and I am a big fan of your music.""The pleasure is mine Jennifer." Bryan said.Bryan and Kim occasionally glanced at each other. Bryan knew the lady in front of him came from that table, so he wondered why her friend didn't come with her. Does she not know who he is? "Can I please take a picture with you?" Jennifer requested."I'm sorry...the timing is..." Bryan paused, trying to organize the right words so she wouldn't misinterpret."It's fine. I get it. You are not in the mood. Can I get an autograph at least?" Jennifer put a hopeful smile."Where should I sign?" In as much as he didn't want to, he knew he had to, she didn't look like one to give up easily.Jennifer opens the first few buttons of her blouse, Bryan and his friends stare at her in disbelief. "Here, please sign."Bryan pretended not to see. "Ummm, where?""On my boobs.""Boobs?!" Andre and Gentle said in unison.Kim wildly smile watching Bryan sign on Jennifer's boobs while she captures every moment on video.Bryan stretch his hands to give Jennifer what looked like a card. "This is the V.I.P ticket to my concert in the mother land. You are invited.""Oh my God!!!" Jennifer screamed, hugging Bryan. "Thank you so much Bryan, I love you."Bryan smiled. "Shwaty, I love you more." He winked, locking eyes with her. This was really Jennifer's day, Bryan was flirting with her! "I tried to buy the V.I.P ticket but they said everything has been sold out. Thank you very much, this means a lot to me." She said sincerely."You are welcome. Can I please have a little privacy now if you don't mind?" Bryan's voice had a tiny plea."Of course. Please enjoy your dinner. Nice to have met you." Jennifer said, then walked to Kim's table buttoning her blouse.Andre was the first to complain. "She didn't even have the courtesy to recognize and acknowledge our presence." "Are you a celebrity?" Gentle responded. "You should be used to this treatment by now."The trio laugh.Andre continued, "Mehn...I love her boobs, so fresh and tempting.""I wonder what they are doing here. I made a reservation for the entire restaurant so I can have a peaceful private dinner." Bryan said."The one with a darker skin is just there feeling proud, instead of her to come here and get an autograph." Andre pointed out."With free a V.I.P ticket.." Gentle added.Kim closed her MacBook."Please let's stay a little longer. Who knows? He might give me his personal card after dinner." Jennifer pleaded.Kim shaked her head in disagreement. "They made a reservation for the entire restaurant and their reservation started thirty minutes ago.""Wait, they? Who is they? Bryan?""Yes.""And you are just telling me now, what kind of a friend are you? Wait, are you even my friend? My celebrity crush made a reservation in your restaurant and you didn't tell me so I'd at least wear something sexy and make up?""I did not know. My manager just called, and besides it is a reservation for the entire restaurant for tonight, are we suppose to be here?""Leave me alone." Jennifer angrily walked out of the restaurant while Kim scurried after her with their hand bags.CHAPTER TWO.Kim and Jennifer are in their hotel room. Kim is working on her laptop while Jennifer happily reads the number one trending gist on African blogs and social media."Thank you so much, I love you!" Jennifer jumped on Kim, hugging and pecking her on the cheeks. "You are my life saver. The news is now everywhere; the boobs signing, the free V.I.P ticket..literally everyone is saying that I, Dr.Jennifer Adedeji is Bryan's new girl friend. My followership on Instagram has increased by five thousand."Kim frowned. "Good for you. His fans has crashed one of my websites again.""He is so handsome. Rumor said it's eleven inches." Jennifer replied dreamily. "What is eleven inches?" Kim feigned innocence. "You know..."Kim"s face remained serious. "No, I don't know.""Shut up! You know what I mean. I can't wait to get laid by him, seeing him gets me so wet.""Should I leave this room for you? I think I should, one needs privacy in life, especially those that plan to do stuffs to
CHAPTER THREE. Bryan is still sleeping in bed while Kim is awake, smoking and working on her laptop. Bryan wakes up to the smell of Kim's smoke. He opens the blinds that covered his balcony and beach view. Kim closes her laptop. "Good morning." She greeted. Bryan slips his hands beneath her underwear to cup Kim's firm breast. "Beautiful morning to you. I know you had a great night, so what will you have for breakfast?""Toasted bread, chocolate tea, and peppered fish with snail."" I see you have good taste in meals. Lucky you, I will spoil you to the moon with my meals." "Can you cook?""My mother is a chef. She taught me well.""I'm embarrassed. I can't cook." She laughed at herself. "I will teach. So tell me, what excites you, what do you do for fun, what makes you happy?""I love good music, food, vacations and good sex." "I hope last night was good enough?""Could be better.""I am Bryan, thirty five years old, single, my family lives in London. I make good music for a liv

"I made some calls, your department is willing to accept you back but you will have to repeat third year which is fair enough." Payson said. "The most important thing is for you to graduate with first class honours and become a lawyer." Onome added. "I will think about it." Nathan softly said. Felix, his uncle entered the conversation harshly. "Since last year you have been thinking, you have thought enough. It is time to go back to school."Payson nodded her head, agreeing with her brother, Felix. "Playtime is over son. Boys need a marketable skill, Nathan, because you've got to be able to support yourself. Come back to the real world honey, this is Nigeria. Don't let one little show at Checkers Beach go to your head.""It wasn't little to me." Nathan muttered."You are too young to be a school drop out." Pa

Nathan gave her a warm, welcoming response. One that melted her and made her heart smile. Kim smiled. "Yes I am. Please help me. I don't mind giving you and your friends a ride." She offered. "Come on in, I will drop each of you in your homes." Pink looked at Kim in suspicion, then whispered to Nath

"Pink I'm talking to you." Sarah said, walking to stand in front of the TV. "Mom please, I paid to see this movie. You and Pink can settle your issues outside." Dalvin said. "Pink?" Sarah called out. "Umm.." Pink scratched her hair. "Mom, those are not mine." "Whose then?" She asked. "Just tell the truth, Pink." Dalvin said, hissing. "Mom, her friends, Lydia and Ann bought them for them for her.""Why?" Sarah shifted her gaze back to Pink. "If you need new clothes why didn't you

Pink innocently said."Oh."Pink looked directly in his eyes. "Someone can be jealous?""When it comes to you.."Pink interrupted. "Says the guy that flirted with almost every female that came to buy from his stand tonight. You think I didn't notice?""I was only being nice and friendly. It is called courtesy and customer service." Nathan explained. Pink made funny, but cute faces. "Over here we call it cheating.""Says the girl that was driven in a Venza to the governor's birthday party!" "By an unknown driver of my friend's boyfriend." Pink completed. "How did you get past that gate? For the little I know, it is an exclusive birthday party." "Ann's boyfriend is big." Nathan frowned. "Whatever." CHAPTER EIGHT. Kim had no plans of leaving Nigeria anytime soon. She sat on her balcony, admiring the big city, smoking and painting. Her close friends would testify she was a talented painter. She had tons of her artworks in the national museum, California, and Nigeria. She made quite a fortune from painting. A lot of people did not know her to be an artist. She preferred to remain anonymous in her artistry. She wasn't expecting to see Bryan walking to her balcony, she looked around in surprise when Bryan walked forward, towards her. Was she hallucinating? She exhaled hard when she saw Jennifer walk to the balcony as well, wearing a broad smile. Now she was certain she wasn't hallucinating, Jenifer must have let him into her house. Very quickly she covered her painting, looking at both in confusion. "Is someone hiding something from us?" Bryan teased, smiling. "No, ofcourse not." Kim scoffed. "I'm only trying to keep my client and his work anonymous." "I didn't know you wer

"I'll give you a ride."Nathan opened the front door of Kim's car and settled into the seat. He shot her a grateful glance. "Hi, good afternoon ma." He drew a deep breath before beginning to talk. "You're God sent, thank you." "The energy you used while jogging, like an athlete." Kim said. "Why are jogging under this hot sun, it's ridiculous."Nathan looked away, ashamed. "Nothing." Kim studied his expressions. "Something is wrong, you look sad." "I am." Nathan replied. "Why? I won't give up easily." Kim persuaded. "Talk to me, I would help if I could." "Just a terrible unlucky day." Nathan said dismissively. "How have you been?" "Not bad. I'm alive." Kim replied casually. "
CHAPTER THIRTY - ONEThe sun was setting over the cemetery, casting a warm orange glow over the rows of headstones. Nathan sat by Pink's grave, his eyes fixed on the inscription etched into the stone."Beloved daughter, sister, and friend," it read. "Forever in our hearts."Nathan's eyes welled up with tears as he gazed at the words. He looked a mess, his hair disheveled and his clothes stained with dirt and sweat. He had been sitting by Pink's grave for hours, drinking and smoking, trying to dull the pain that had been eating away at him since her death. As he sat there, he felt a sense of peace wash over him. It was as if Pink was still with him, watching over him from beyond the grave.Just as Nathan was starting to feel a sense of calm, he heard a rustling in the bushes behind him. He turned to see Jude, his friend, walking towards him."How did you know I was here?" Nathan asked, his voice barely above a whisper.Jude shrugged, his eyes fixed on Nathan's. "I just do," he said, si

She looked like a ray of sunshine, and Jennifer couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy. As they window-shopped, a sleek, black Rolls-Royce Phantom pulled up to the curb, drawing a crowd of onlookers. Kim's eyes widened as a live band emerged from the car, setting up their instruments on the sidewalk."What's going on?" Jennifer asked, her eyes scanning the scene.Kim shrugged, her eyes fixed on the band. "I have no idea."Just then, Bryan stepped out of the car, looking dashing in a tailored black suit. He flashed Kim a charming smile, and her heart skipped a beat."Bryan, what are you doing?" Kim asked, her voice barely above a whisper.Bryan dropped to one knee, pulling out a small box from hi
CHAPTER TWENTY - NINENathan slumped against the wall, his eyes fixed on the floor as he nursed a bottle of whiskey. The dim light of his room cast a gloomy shadow on his face, reflecting the turmoil that brewed inside him.He took a swig of the liquor, feeling the burn all the way down his throat. It was a futile attempt to numb the pain that had been gnawing at him for weeks. His mind wandered to his mother, Payson, sitting in a prison cell, serving a life sentence for a crime he knew she didn't commit. He felt a wave of anger and frustration wash over him, his fists clenched in impotent rage. Why had he been so stupid? Why had he let things go so far? If only he had listened to Pink, if only he had been more careful...The guilt and regret threatened to consume him, and he reached for the pack of cigarettes on his nightstand. He lit one, taking a long drag as he tried to calm his racing thoughts. But the nicotine only seemed to fuel his anxiety, and he found himself pacing back and
CHAPTER TWENTY - EIGHT The lights shone brightly in the packed auditorium, casting a warm glow over the sea of faces. The air was thick with anticipation as the students, teachers, and parents waited for the prize-giving ceremony to begin.Dalvin, dressed in a sleek black suit, his eyes red-rimmed from lack of sleep, made his way to the stage. He was here to collect the awards on behalf of his sister, Pink, who had tragically passed away just a few weeks ago.As he reached the microphone, the principal, Mrs. Johnson, handed him a stack of six awards. Dalvin's eyes welled up with tears as he gazed at the shiny trophies and certificates."Ladies and gentlemen, students and teachers," Mrs. Johnson began, her voice trembling with emotion. "Tonight, we gather to celebrate the academic achievements of our students. And among them, one student stands out for her exceptional brilliance and dedication. Pink, our beloved student, who left us far too soon, has bagged six awards tonight."The au

She took a deep breath, steeling herself for what was to come.As she entered the prison, she was immediately struck by the stark contrast to the outside world. The air was thick with the smell of disinfectant and stale air. The fluorescent lights overhead cast an unforgiving glare, making every face look pale and gaunt.Kim made her way through the security checks and into the visiting room. Payson was already seated, her eyes fixed on Kim as she entered. Kim's heart went out to her, seeing the deep lines of worry and regret etched on her face.Payson's eyes filled with tears as Kim approached. "Kim, I'm so sorry," she whispered, her voice cracking. "I was wrong to do what I did to you, all your life. I was so blinded by my own fears and doubts. I was selfish, I am sorry." Kim sat down across from Payson, he

She adjusted her glasses and surveyed the room before focusing on Nathan and Payson."So, Mr. Nathan and Mrs. Payson, you are here today to face charges of negligence and manslaughter in the death of Pink, the daughter of Mrs. Sarah. How do you plead?"Payson stood up, her voice shaking. "Your Honor, I plead guilty. My son, Nathan, had no hand in this. It was all my doing."Nathan's eyes widened in shock. "Mom, no!" he whispered urgently, but Payson ignored him.Judge Thompson's expression turned stern. "Very well, Mrs. Payson. And you, Mr. Nathan? How do you plead?"Nathan stood up, his voice trembling. "Not guilty, Your Honor. I didn't do anyth
CHAPTER TWENTY FIVEAfter performing at the club and taking Kim to his hotel room, that was the last he saw her. He woke up the next morning to her absence, she left him a handwritten note that read: "Dear Bryan, It felt good being with you last night and I enjoyed every second. You're a sweet soul but I have to go. Please don't look for me. Kim." Bryan sighed heavily, tossing the note aside. "Fuck you Kim..I will find you." He walked to the table and poured himself a glass of champagne. He focused on the trails of bubbles arising from his champagne. The days went by and Bryan didn't hear the end of it. His mother scolded him every day for his performance at the club. His freestyle at the club went viral worldwide and everyone was talking about it. Everyone wondered why he hadn't gotten married to Kim yet. Eva had made a press release addressing the public that Bryan and Kim did not have a relationship again and the club freestyle was a little show for fans. Bryan was unaware,
CHAPTER TWENTY FOURBryan drove into his mansion and walked to his bedroom. He was having a terrible migraine. He paused by the entrance of his bedroom, glaring at Beverly. She was standing by the mirror, naked. With a light groan, he closed the bedroom door and walked inside. "Superstar.." Her voice was sensuous, she turned to fully face him, smiling. "I've been waiting for you all night." "We need to talk." Moving closer to him, she said. "We're talking." Bryan moved back. "I'm calling off the engagement." He took off his jacket. "There are a lot of things I can't remember, a lot of things that aren't adding up. Look, I'm tired okay?" Beverly had expected rejection tonight but calling off the engagement? She didn't see it coming. She shook her head, trying to wrap her fingers around his neck. "Baby.." "I mean everything I've said tonight and still saying." Bryan pulled away, he walked to his wardrobe then pulled out a blanket, covering Beverly in it. "I am putting an end to a
CHAPTER TWENTY THREE"Who's there?" Kianna asked, tip toeing to the window. She stared outside the window trying to see who it was that was ringing the bell. Past 9pm and she was home alone, almost asleep. "I said who's there?" Her voice was louder. "Kianna, it's Pink," Pink responded in a low voice. "Please let me in." Kianna sighed, relieved it wasn't some serial killer or thief. She opened the door and Pink stepped into the living room. "Pink..." She said, locking the living room door. "How did you find... come in."Pink hugged Kianna tightly, crying softly. "I'm sorry for barging in on you this way, this night..I had nowhere else to go.." Kianna rubbed a hand over Pink's back, patting her gently. "Pink, let it all out if you have to..I am here for you." Pink pulled out from the embrace and lowered herself to sit on the couch, sniffing back tears. "I ran away from home.." "Why?" Kianna sat beside her. "What happened?" ***Bryan winced, and h
