Nathan's breath still reeked of alcohol, and he swayed unsteadily. A passing pedestrian lightly bumped into him, causing Nathan to almost fall, only to be barely caught by a nearby tree.

Squinting against the light, Nathan looked at Emily, "Emily, are you happy to see me like this?"

Emily bit her lip, her tone icy, "It is meaningless. Let's get the divorce done."

Nathan laughed bitterly, leaning against the tree and slowly squatting down, muttering, "It's all my fault. If I had cherished you, if I hadn't listened to my mother... Emily, would we still be together?"

"No 'ifs,'" Mr. Satan grabbed Nathan by the collar and lifted him. "Let's go."

For the first time in six months, Emily found herself sitting next to Nathan again.

The clerk gave them a cursory glance and asked, "Are you both sure about this? Once the divorce is finalized, there's no going back. You're still young, and it's normal to have conflicts..."
