Chapter 4 (Baby Caiden)

Jennie and Lisa's eyes widened after reading the will of irene at the cafe with the attorney.

" Ms. Irene made the two of you the legal guardian or you could say the parents of her baby. Ms. Irene was aware that her life is at risk if she continues giving birth to her child because the baby is too big and her condition is not that good. She told me that she wanted her baby to be in the good hands of you two... The people whom she trusts the most. " Mr. Davis said

The two couldn't believe that they had to be the legal parents of Irene's baby. They didn't know how to tell their parents that they suddenly became parents and never did they expect to be with the person they didn't want to be with.

" A-attourney... W-what if we didn't want to take care of the baby? " Jennie asked and she received a glare from Lisa

"Uhmm... That will be a lot of work and will take time to be processed " Mr. Davis said

" We also need to inform our parents regarding this " Jennie said

" Regarding that, I can talk to your parents and ask if they are allowing you to be the legal parents of the baby... If they didn't agree then we have no choice but to put the baby in the care of the orphanage and go through the long process... Sadly to say that the only will that Ms.Irene wanted won't happen " Mr. Davis said and that struck Jennie and Lisa hard.

Irene trusted them to be her baby's parents and irene did a lot of things for them and they shared memorable memories with her. Guilt and trust of irene were hunting them if they didn't agree.

" what if only one of us agreed to take good care of the baby? " Lisa asked

" I'm sorry but the authorities won't allow that... There was a regulation about that, especially since you two are still studying in college, it is sure that you can't have the baby alone" Mr. Davis said making the two frustrated.

Lisa's parents quickly went back to Korea after receiving the news of irene's death.

Lisa also informed them about the baby's legal guardian and will of irene. Her parents agreed as long as Lisa is willing to do her best to take good care of the baby but it is yet to be sure because the decision of Jennie's parents is still unknown.

Jennie was frustrated because she wanted to take care of the baby but she had to be with the person she hated. She also worried that her relationship with Kevin will be affected. If she refused, the trust that her best friend gave her will hunt her. She and irene treated each other like a family.

She told her parents everything about the baby and she is puzzled by her parent's reaction. Because she didn't know what to do. She decided to rely on her parents' decision.

Mr. Davis made an appointment date for the signing of contracts to make things official.

At irene's burial, a lot of people came and cried. Rosé, Sarah, and Casey were there and the other friends of irene. Lisa and Jennie were the saddest in the death of irene

As the burial chamber of irene goes slowly being covered by the soil. " Irene, I'll take good care of your baby... " Lisa said while crying. Her parents hugged her to comfort her the same as Jennie's parents did to their child who was crying.

After the burial, Lisa went to the hospital to look at the baby for the first time. She went to the nursery room.

"Can I see the baby of Ms. Irene Delaney? I'm her cousin" Lisa said and the nurse nodded. The nurse let her wear a hospital gown and mask and lead the way where the baby boy was peacefully sleeping.

Suddenly the baby woke up and started to cry. Lisa called the nurse and the nurse carried the baby.

" The baby must be hungry, " The nurse said " Would you like to carry the baby? Ms. Delaney? "

"C-can I? " Lisa said nervously. The nurse thought her how to carry the baby and when Lisa had the baby in her arms. She felt an unexplainable feeling of happiness and sadness. " Hi, baby... " Lisa said softly " I went here after going to your mother's burial to see you... Don't worry I told her that I'll take good care of you... " Lisa added and did her best to control her tears.

Then the nurse came back with the formula

"Should I give him back to you? " Lisa asked the nurse and the nurse chuckled because of the innocent actions of Lisa

" You can still carry him if you want... Here " The nurse said and gave Lisa the formula. The nurse thought her how to feed the baby properly and told her that she should make the baby burp after drinking milk.

While at the transparent glass Jennie also went to the hospital to see the baby. Instead of going inside the nursery she stayed outside and watched Lisa carrying and feeding the baby while smiling brightly. Jennie didn't realize that she was unconsciously smiling at the scene she was seeing.

After a few minutes, Lisa got out of the nursery room and removed the hospital gown that she was wearing. Jennie approached her and Lisa looked surprised to see Jennie.

" Hey... Pervert... " Jennie said with a faint smile

" I told you don't call me to pervert... Do you want to be kissed again? " Lisa said smirking

" As if you can do it here.. " Jennie said

" What if I can? " Lisa said as she walk near Jennie who was now walking backward. " Ok.. I'll let you pass for now but next time I won't " She added

" Hey bunny what do you want to name the baby? " Lisa asked Jennie

" I'm not sure what about you? " Jennie said

"Well I was planning to name him after me," Lisa said

" No way... " Jennie quickly responded. " Let's just name him Daryl, Evan, Kenneth, or Caiden..choose one "

"I think Caiden suits him the best " Lisa said and Jennie nodded
