POV: CALLIE

I was dragged across the city, feeling my skin scrape against the gravel on the asphalted ground. I tried to adjust my posture, but the Beta stopped, effortlessly lifting me and shoving me forward as we entered the familiar scent of the Alpha's house.

“Babysitting a useless wolf—this is the last straw!” he growled, exasperated. “Move it.”

I whimpered when my shin hit the edge of the stairs, only to be shoved harder to keep climbing without time to feel around me. I needed to memorize the number of steps, the scent, and the layout of the room to avoid bumping into things and hurting myself later.

The sound of a door slamming open was followed by me being pushed to the floor.

“I don’t know why our king wastes his time on someone like you,” the Beta barked angrily, the ground subtly trembling under his heavy steps. I could tell he was ap

The maid’s gentle hands touched the cloth.“Raise your arms,” she requested politely, and I complied. “Come, let me help you with a bath. There’s a first aid kit in every bathroom; I’ll take care of your wounds.”She guided me to the bathroom and sat me on what seemed to be the toilet. Something cold with a strong iodine scent touched my skin and burned against the wounds, drawing a loud growl of displeasure from me.“I’m sorry, ma’am… It’s iodine,” Nicoly quickly explained. “Forgive me for asking, but you’re a wolf, aren’t you?”“I’m a failure of one.” I replied sadly, lowering my head. “Why do you ask?”“Well, I’

Whenever he tried to eliminate her, something stopped him, as if his mind were being manipulated… Her fiancé described the same sensations to the former Alpha. After that, she was imprisoned. Be careful not to be affected by her curse. We don’t know its full extent.”“She’s just a blind wolf. It seems to me they were looking for a plausible excuse to justify their psychopathy!” I growled, surprising everyone.“Don’t say I didn’t warn you, my king. I only wish you the best!” Bowing, Esmeralda resumed walking.Kemilly glanced over her shoulder at me, her brow furrowed as if assessing me

POV: AARONI stormed forward, furious, my steps heavy. As I ran my hands over Callie’s body earlier, I noticed her fresh wounds and the stench of Jaxon still lingering on her skin. Her neck, though subtly masked, reeked of iron. When I touched her wrists, the pain was palpable, coursing through me as if the injuries had been inflicted directly on my own flesh.“Beta!” I growled, drawing the attention of everyone nearby. They pointed toward the selection base, where some prisoners were undergoing evaluations for reintegration into the new pack.“My king?” Jaxon bowed slightly, but when he noticed my heavy strides, he stepped back, crossing his arms over his chest. Without hesitation, I punched him, sending him flying backward. His body slammed into a column with a loud thud.Gasping, he supported himself on one knee, his head bowed.“What did I do wrong?&rdqu

I stood and stepped away, evaluating her figure, her backside paling in comparison to the beautiful image of Callie’s body. My wolf growled in disapproval just as a fierce wind blasted through, slamming the door open. The cold air made Kemilly shiver, her arousal evident, her anticipation to be taken almost palpable.“Do not stray from your destiny, Supreme Alpha,” the deity whispered.“Get dressed,” I growled, resigned, pulling up my pants.“Alpha? Did I do something wrong?” she turned to face me, placing a hand over her left chest, confused. “Do you not want me anymore?”“Your scent irritates me,” I spat, wrinkling my nose.Kemilly hurried toward me, blocking my path with outstretched arms, her desperation pa

Nicoly arrived with a meal and a braille book, patiently teaching me the basics of tracing the letters. It felt strange, but I had the odd sensation that I had done this before at some point in my life, though I couldn’t remember when.“I’ll bring you some cake and tea, keep practicing,” she said as she walked away.I sniffed the air, my instincts sharpening when the hairs on the back of my neck stood on end. My wolf growled in warning. I leaped into a defensive stance.“Who’s there?” I growled threateningly.“Your instincts are remarkable, Callie… Impressive!” a feminine voice responded.“Who are you, and what are you doing here?&rdq

POV: AARONNo matter how much I tried to deny it, Callie’s words sent a chill down my spine like a sinister omen. My wolf roared in my mind, confirming her warnings: something terrible was about to happen to my pack—the first one I rebuilt after Hunter’s attack, when one of his followers took over as a false Alpha. The lack of strength and leadership from that imposter was laughable, but no wolf dared to challenge him, fearing Hunter’s wrath and retaliation. Damn him!“Nicoly, send the pictures to the command center of my fleet,” I growled, making her rush off immediately. “Callie, when I return, I want answers. How do you know what’s going to happen?”“I…” She bit her lip, nervously wiping her eyes. “I don’t know how to explain it to you.”“You’d better find a way because it seems you’

I’ll crush you like the insect you are.” I growled, tearing through the wolf’s throat and ripping off his head. I walked slowly toward the remaining enemy. “See that look of terror in your eyes? POV: CALLIEI sat on the bed for a while, pondering: if Aaron didn’t return, did it mean the end for me? What would the pack do to me in their Alpha’s absence? Would I become prey again? Alarms rang in my mind; my wolf stirred restlessly, growling for us to flee and hide. May the Goddess protect us in the forest—it was better than the uncertainty of the Lycan King's claws. I sniffed the air, detecting the nuances of scents. There was only one wolf standing guard at the door. Feeling around, I noticed the window opened easily. I leaned forward, running my hands along the frame to “see” if there was a roof I could climb onto to escape. Nervously, I placed one foot, then the other, on the ledge, gripping the sides as my sense of smell worked overtime.Suddenly, the door burst open with a loud bang, and the nauseating scent along with Kemilly’s shrill, irritating voice filled the room hysterically.“You ungrate

Can you see?”There was surprise in his tone.I looked again at the wounded she-wolf on the ground, feeling the ferocity of my beast stir at the sight of her—injured, cowering, trembling, and threatened.Hunter grabbed my hair roughly, yanking me toward him with a sharp breath.“How are you doing this?” he snarled through his fangs.“Don’t touch me!” I growled, my claws extending as I slashed at him the moment he let go. It's only a matter of time before Nocturnus enters the city,” Lyra said.“But the wolves stopped, afraid to follow us here.” I commented, still in shock.“Even werewolves fear ghosts, especially powerful ones,” Yulli laughed, amused. “But that doesn’t apply to creatures controlled by Nocturnus.”“I…” I bit my lip, nervous. “I don’t want to lose my wolf. She’s part of who I am.”I didn’t want to admit out loud that I wasn’t just afraid of losing my wolf—I also feared never having him in my dreams again. Who the hell are you calling a rat?” Jaxon lunged toward him but stopped when Keenan lifted his head, meeting his gaze with icy indifference.“Forget it. If this is what the council wants and the Supreme Alpha’s decision, then take my place, and I’ll take yours.”“You will not!” The Supreme Beta’s threatening roar startled everyone—except me. Watching this power struggle was a pleasure; it allowed me to gauge the strength of my warriors within the pack.“If you can’t even handle simple management tasks and the protection of the Lycan King, what makes you think you’re capable of leading a central city?”

POV: AARONAfter the full moon, the city finally settled. The wolf howls faded, and the stillness of the night took over. Callie fell asleep in my arms, her body completely relaxing. Carefully, I carried her inside, laying her gently on the bed. I sank down beside her, running my fingers tenderly through her hair. I was exhausted, but a crooked smile formed on my lips as I looked at her. Furthermore, I truly wanted to care for and protect this wolf and her child.“Ours…” I corrected myself automatically, furrowing my brow at my own reaction. The word echoed in my mind.I stretched out my hand, hesitating for a moment before placing it on her belly. Leaning in, I tried to listen for the tiny, strong heartbeat inside her. A sudden kick met my touch, and I couldn’t help but smile—a genuine, admiring smile.“You’re already strong, little one. Are you trying to protect your mo

Out of curiosity, I reached out to feel its shape, yawning despite my efforts to resist exhaustion, afraid that the dark god would be waiting for me there.“You know you'll have to sleep at some point,” the Alpha murmured, his voice slightly drowsy. “You don’t have to worry. I’ll be there with you.”“Even so, I’m not ready to face him,” I admitted, tracing my fingers idly across his bare chest, the tips tingling against his warm, smooth skin.“You don’t have to face him, little wolf. Leave the battles to me,” Aaron pressed a lingering kiss to the top of my head.“You’re exhausted too. And I don’t want to depend on anyone when it comes to battle…” I sighed, sitting up in bed. “I need to get stronger for Rigan.”

POV: AARONI asked the cook to make a homemade pizza. Honestly, it had been a while since I had eaten something like that too. It seemed like a great excuse and opportunity for a moment with Callie. I pulled her into my arms, wrinkling my nose at the TV screen, where the movie title stood out: “A Love Beyond Life.”I had never watched romantic movies, not even when past girlfriends asked me to go to the movies. Furthermore, I always preferred horror films… Maybe because I was used to a harsh life filled with battles.“You seem hesitant.” Callie whispered, settling her back against my chest, giving me a tempting view of her bare body. I bit my lips and pulled the sheet over her, knowing that otherwise I wouldn't be able to focus on any movie.“If you want, I can get dressed,” she offered.“And miss the chance to admire you from time to time? POV: CALLIEI felt strange, a latent voracity burning inside my chest. I entered the bathroom, panting, letting out occasional growls, and smirked, feeling oddly pleased.“Wolf, you’re back?” I murmured to my inner beast, who grunted in response. “Did you really have to return like this? We’re trying to avoid the Alpha, not become his.”My wolf protested in my mind, her presence laced with lust, restless within my chest. I felt a significant improvement below my belly, as if she were working to protect our pup with her healing power. The sensation stirred the baby awake, making him kick excitedly, as if he recognized my beast’s return.“Thank you for coming back.” I placed my hand over my chest, clenching it into a fist. “I was afraid without you… Nocturnus reached us in a dream. I fear sleeping.”In my mind, my wolf appr
