“You’re very distracted today, wolf!” the Alpha growled irritably, pulling my hand away from the spot and seemingly soothing the pain. “Keep your senses sharper; stay alert. Don’t be foolish enough to keep getting hurt.”
My heart raced as he touched the area gently. His finger traced the line of my face, tilting my chin upward.
“Do you understand?” Aaron demanded authoritatively.
I only nodded. As he stepped away, and we resumed walking, I sniffed the air and recognized the scent. It was the same place where Kemilly had taken me to train for the mutation… and also where she had attacked me numerous times! The overpowering smell of fresh blood was almost tangible, sickeningly strong, making my stomach churn. I rubbed my nose with the back of my hand, trying to lessen the discomfort.
