Chapter 40-Time

“Stella, hija, is that really you?” Don Ramon weakly called the girl when he saw her sitting next to the bed right after he opened his eyes.

Stella stood up quickly and came closer to the old man. “Grandpa, how are you feeling?”

Ramon was about to cry as he raised his trembling palm and held the girl’s hand. “Hija, I don’t know how much time I have left.”

Stella bit the inside of her mouth and prevented herself from sobbing. She let out a deep sigh before whispering to the old man, “Grandpa, I’m sorry if I hid this for so many years. I’m sorry if I thought not to introduce him to your family. I just don’t want my son to be exposed, especially if he was raised without a father by his side.”

Ramon’s eyes danced with joy, and he couldn’t believe what he heard from the girl. Even though what she said was not complete, he had guessed it. “I understand you, hija. Thank you very much for bringing my first great-grandchild back to life! I will never forgive Charles if something bad happene
