She suddenly felt that the heavens were pulling a prank on her today. She was not asking to meet someone tall, rich, and handsome, but surely she did not deserve to be trolled by someone like Logan.
Sophie's heart burned with rage.
She fumed as she stormed out of the restaurant. In her rage, she bumped into the shoulder of another man.
The man was well-dressed in an all-black outfit. His hair was slick with wax, which gave him a formidable air. He had fair skin, which matched his Apple X in one hand, and he wore a Tissot watch on his wrist.
"Are you alright, miss?" The man's expression darkened when Sophie bumped into him, but his look of displeasure immediately disappeared when he saw just how beautiful Sophie was. He was the one who had been tackled, but he was asking if Sophie was alright.
"Do you need a massage or something?" said the man with a lewd smile on his face as he stretched his arms toward her.
Before he could even get close to Sophie, she gave him an angry slap across the face without a second thought. She gave the man an ice-cold glare with her alluring eyes as she barked, "Watch where you're going!"
The man was stunned by the physical impact he registered on his cheek. Before he could even react, Sophie had already stormed out of the restaurant.
When Josh and the others saw what Sophie did, they felt chills run down their spines. They were ready to go help Sophie before she reacted the way she did.
Wren and Bella planned to leave after Sophie's departure, but they eventually decided to stay after Joey persuaded them to.
After the meal, Josh paid the bill with Joey by his side, and the group exited the restaurant. Wren and Bella said goodbye to Josh but did not even look at Logan and the others.
Joey was disappointed in the three boys, but she was Josh's current girlfriend. She did not want things to be awkward between her and them. She said goodbye to each of them before following her friends back to their dormitory.
Josh changed into jerseys once he got back to their room and went to train on the track field.
David scrolled his phone as he lay bare-chested on his bed while Ross started playing League of Legends.
Logan loaded his SIM card into the Vivo X27 he had bought. He decided to use it since Paige did not want it. He tried it out and was satisfied with how smooth the phone was.
At that moment, David called out to him and Ross with an excited tone, "Guys, Cindy is live now! Check it out!"
Cindy MacKenzie was David's secret crush. She had just started broadcasting live videos two days ago, and he shared the link to their class' group chat. Now everyone in their class knew her account handle.
Logan registered an account since he had time to spare, and he watched Cindy's live stream.
Cindy went live for 20 minutes. There were currently more than 30 viewers, who were mostly their classmates. It was a sort of enjoyment for them to watch their beautiful classmate's live on a lecture-free afternoon.
Cindy was chattering away in front of the camera while hugging a pink pillow and wearing a set of pink headphones.
"My dears, I haven't seen any gifts so far. Don't feel shy. I'll welcome anything you give!" Cindy straightened her hair and puckered her thin lips at the camera as she sent a flying kiss. Her lips almost touched the screen.
Cindy had a lovable character, to begin with. Many in the university had a crush on her. When she made the request for gifts, the guys quickly responded by sending her items like "necklaces" or "bikinis". After all, they only cost $5. They could afford that much.
[Morning Star sent a Necklace!]
[Silly Dog sent a Bikini!]
[Handsome Guy sent a Bikini!]
"Thank you, Morning Star."
"Thank you, Handsome Guy. I love you!" Cindy made a heart sign. Her voice barely faded when a thrilled voice was heard from the corridor. "Cindy is so cute! I'm melting from her cuteness!"
David felt the urge to send her a gift after seeing the fan service she was giving to the gift senders. He picked a gift with shaky fingers and pressed send.
A new message appeared on the screen.
[Flying Fish sent a Necklace![
@Flying Fish: Hi Cindy, I'm David. I'm watching your live stream!
Cindy flashed a sweet smile and looked into the camera. "Thanks, David."
"Cindy spoke to me!" David mumbled airily. He felt as though he had just taken a puff of weed.
At that moment, someone else commented on the live stream. It was a slightly longer message which caught the attention of many viewers.
@Another Day: Even that cheapskate loser David sent Cindy a gift! What a surprise! I wonder if the sun rose from the west today.
David's face fell. Almost everyone from their class was watching the live stream. How was he supposed to keep his head up after this comment?
Feeling angered, he wrote a comment in response.
@Flying Fish: You have a problem with that? Have you been eating (poop emoji)? Your mouth stinks, you know that?
@Another Day: Oh, you dumb f*ck. You're just a broke guy who splits a dollar into three! I can't believe you sent a gift. Are you going to sell your kidney on the black market after this? Also, you've got guts talking to me with that tone!
Cindy's expression darkened. Having people cussing at each other during her live stream was not good for her stream. "Stop it, both of you. If you keep this up, I'm going to restrict you from commenting."
David quickly typed.
@Flying Fish: I'm sorry, Cindy. He started it!
@Another Day: Yeah, so what if I did? What are you gonna do about it?
Cindy frowned slightly and was just about to mute Another Day when a system message popped up on the screen.
[Another Day sent a Cash Gun!]
Cindy's finger froze in midair. A Cash Gun was worth $300. This was the most expensive gift she had ever received.
