David and Ross exclaimed excitedly at the same time, "Well said!"
The other users praised the statement as well.
@Handsome Guy: That's how rich kids should behave!
@Doing Business with Jeff Bezos: What a wonderful speech! I can tell that you're someone with a history!
@Bar Chicken: I'm giving you a like. You're much better than some rich kid I know. Can you tell us what kind of business your family is in, My Dear?
Gerald had been silent throughout this entire exchange.
Another system message popped up on the screen.
[Another Day left the live stream.]
A torrent of mockery followed Gerald's departure from the live stream.
"Who's My Dear, Cindy?" A girl appeared on the screen and wrapped her arms around Cindy's neck.
She had long hair and a pointed chin. She wore thin makeup but was beautiful. She was completely comfortable being broadcast live. All she had to do was look at the camera, and the audience members would feel their hearts skip a beat.
Cindy pulled Paige's hand and said sweetly, "Hey guys, this is my roommate, the beautiful Paige Reynolds! Be sure to follow her! I'll give you her Twitter handle!"
Paige was watching Cindy's live stream as well.
She could hardly remain calm when she saw My Dear send her roommate 11 Super Spaceships. That was $55,000! It was impossible for her not to be intrigued by this rich man. If My Dear was Cindy's friend, she would also want to get to know him.
"You didn't answer my question, Cindy. Who's this My Dear?" Paige pulled a chair over and sat in front of the camera. She looked directly into it as though wanting My Dear to take a good look at her.
"I really don't know. This is My Dear's first time watching my live stream." Cindy shook her head before returning her gaze to the camera. "Are you still there, My Dear?"
My dear replied.
@My Dear: I am.
Paige was delighted. She was slightly excited right now and nearly took over the live stream. "That was so cool of you, My Dear! You gave Cindy 11 Super Spaceships in one go. That was amazing. I'm actually thinking of starting my own live stream myself. Won't you come to watch my stream too?"
"Stop watching, Logan. That b*tch Paige only has eyes for money. She's f*cking shameless!" said David out of genuine concern when he saw Logan looking at his phone while lying on his bed. He was certain that Logan was also watching Cindy's live stream.
Logan ignored him. His eyes were still glued to the screen.
"Paige!" Cindy called the name of her roommate with a hint of annoyance. "You never told me you would start a live stream. Even if you were, are you trying to take my viewers away from me in my face?"
Paige ignored Cindy and addressed the camera. "My Dear, I'm single and available. I just couldn't find my Mr. Right. I do have a feeling that we're meant for each other, though. I'd like to get to know you better…"
Paige's sheepish expression when she said those words was slightly charming.
Logan typed.
@My Dear: You're single and available?
Paige was slightly stunned. She was beautiful, so it was slightly unthinkable that she was still available, but she had to stick with what she said in the hopes of getting on My Dear's good side and for any future development.
Men loved to be the first boyfriend of their girlfriends.
"Yes. I have never dated anyone before," said Paige sheepishly.
"Didn't you just break up with Logan and are now dating Oscar?" Cindy asked while looking into Paige's eyes.
Cindy understood how fake Paige could be. She did not usually mind her personality, but My Dear had just given her $55,000 worth of gifts. She could not let her roommate trick My Dear.
"Ah…" Paige did not expect that Cindy would expose her like that. A look of awkward embarrassment crept onto her face. She mustered a smile.
"Actually… Oscar and I are just… really good friends. As for Logan, I was only helping him out in his experiments because he's poor. All I wanted to do was to study. The rumor about us dating… It's just a rumor our classmates have been spreading…"
Paige somehow managed to come up with her excuses as she stammered. She was trying desperately to show My Dear just how pure of a girl she was.
"My Dear, if you want to get to know Paige, you can add—"
Before Cindy could even finish her sentence, a system notification popped up.
[My Dear has left the live stream.]
Cindy and Paige felt disappointed.
Logan switched off his Vivo phone and turned to lie on his side. He stared listlessly at the wall. He was not thinking about the tens of thousands he had just spent on gifts. Instead, he was thinking about Paige.
After all, he had been with her for a year. Her words penetrated his heart like an electric drill.
He realized now that the year they had spent together… It was all because she was trying to help out a poor classmate.
Logan laughed bitterly in his heart.
Paige was very materialistic. If she found out that he was actually loaded, he wondered what kind of face she would pull, considering the words she had just uttered during the live stream.
When they were done with their morning classes the next day, the boys returned to their room. They finished their takeout meals and were about to get some rest on their beds when Josh emerged through the door with a dejected look on his face. "This is bad!"
"What's wrong? What did your classmates do this time?" David asked before taking a gulp of water.
"Something bad happened to Sophie." Josh sat down and cast a gloomy look at the three of them.
"What happened?" Logan knew that the matter could not have been that simple. Josh's expression told him that the matter was much more serious.
