Mara's expression turned thoughtful. "You know, Rhys, I think Talia's anger is a sign of how much she still cares about you."

I raised an eyebrow. "Really? I thought she was just bitter."

Mara shook her head. "No, I think there's more to it than that. She's hurt because she feels like you betrayed her trust."

I sighed, feeling a spark of guilt. "I know I did. And I'm sorry for it."

Mara's eyes locked onto mine. "I know you are, Rhys. And that's what matters. You're taking responsibility for your actions and trying to make amends."

I nodded, feeling a sense of gratitude towards Mara. She always knew how to make me see things from a different perspective.
