As Cali went out of the office, her phone chimed in her purse. She took it out to find out that Horace was calling her. He was also an orphan and they both lived in the same orphanage. An involuntary smile spread across her lips. And she picked up his call almost immediately. She forgot about all her troubles and pain in her life for a moment. It was always like this when it was him. He was like a loving brother that she never had.
"Hey, Horace. How are you doing?" She asked still smiling. "Oh, stop it. Okay? Why do you care anyways?" He said and her smile vanished. A frown took over her features. "What are you saying Ace? You know I care about you, a lot." She said truthfully."Oh, really? Then why were you not calling me? It has beenalmost a month, you know that right?" He said with disappointment laced in his tone. Cali now understood what was wrong. She was so much caught up in her fucked up life that she didn't have time to call him. She sighed. "I am so sorry Ace. I was actually so much caught up here. Please forgive me? Please, please? Pretty please?" She said and heard him chuckle softly from the other end. And she knew that she was forgiven. "Okay, okay. You are forgiven, but, but, I have a condition."He said. Cali hummed him to continue. "I am here in a restaurant just infront of your office. So, will you come here? Let us catch up, yeah?" Cali smiled at his condition and replied a quick yes and dashed into the restaurant infront, unaware of the pair of deep ocean blue eyes that were boring holes into her self....He was standing there, near his office window, looking at the sky. The image of his beautiful wife wearing her pink nightie coming out of their bathroom that night was what he had in his mind. He could not wait to taste her again. Though he remembered clearly how she tasted and how good it was, he would never tell that to her. It would only boost her ego. And what he feared is that she would leave him if she kept living on with that ego of hers, and the thought of her leaving him, scared him. He could not let her go. He did not know about love but she had become his obsession now, that was for sure. At first, she was a challenge for him, but after that night, everything changed. Now, he craved for her. Only he knew, how difficult it was staying away from her for ten long days for him. Although he always went home secretly at night without letting anyone know just to have a glance at her while she slept. Her serene face made him feel at ease. Even though he could not cuddle her in his arms tightly, like he wanted to, he would just place a light but lingering kiss on her soft and plump lips. It was enough to keep him sane for the time being. He was lost in his blissful little bubble of thought when henoticed a familiar, actually a very familiar figure standing at a distance from the exit of his office building. She was on her phone. His scrutinizing gaze was now set on her. What was she doing out there? Her working hours were not over yet. Oh, then he remembered that she had taken the remaining day off. And he granted it because he thought that she might be tired and would go home to have some rest. Then, she sprinted towards the restaurant right infront of the office building. Why was she going in there? Did not she just have her lunch a while ago? Was she going to meet someone there? But whom? As far as he knew, his wife didn't have much friends or relatives. The only friend she had here was Jasmine. He was now getting all vexed. So, he decided to go there as well. Just as he was picking up his phone to go out, someone knocked on his door. He allowed whoever the person was outside the door to come in, much to his dislike. Now, he just wanted to fly out of the window and into the restaurant where his wife was doing God knew what. The door creaked opened and came in Jasmine. Just the sight of her, irked him. Only they knew that they didn't have any relation between them. They were never once involved in any sexual relation, other than kissing, and that too just infront of Cali. However, Jasmine didn't have any idea that her boss was trying to get his wife jealous there, who happened to be Cali Ruth. And she never questioned it. Because firstly, she didn't have the courage to ask her cold and indifferent boss and secondly, she was getting quite a handsome paycheck for putting up this act. She sauntered inside the office and looked at her boss who was looking all frustrated. She gulped visibly. "I don't have the whole day, Ms. Winter." He said in an intimidating tone."Sir, this is my leave application. Could you please approve it." She said internally fearing about his outburst. He was obviously not in the mood."Keep it on the table and leave." He said getting ready to go out but then Jasmine again stopped him. "Sir, actually I am going to leave tomorrow and I would need some money. So..." She trailed off. Cain immediately understood what she meant. The paycheck for her acting. She was a part time escort, so this kind of acting was not difficult for her. She was even ready to climb up to his bed, but he didn't want it. He had his wife for that. He had just hired her for the job to make his wife jealous."You will get your pay by tomorrow morning. Now you may leave." He said with a finality in his voice. She immediately put the application on the table and scurried out of his office. He then hurriedly went out to go into the restaurant. Theonly thing that occurred in his mind was his wife.......She entered the small restaurant and immediately spotted Horace sitting at one of the corner seats, sipping on a cup of tea. As soon as his eyes fell on her approaching figure, he stood up and reached her half way to hug her lovingly. And she hugged him back. "So." He said, smiling brightly at her."So?" Horace was looking at her with a mischievous glint inhis eyes. "How is your life going?" He asked her making her smile. "I mean married life?" He said smirking. Her smile threatened to falter at his question. He didn't know about how their marriage had happened or how their married life was. She had told him that they got married because they both fell in love with each other. And he bought it since she was working as an intern in his company. He thought that their love story was a cliché one. A typical love story between the boss and his employee. She managed not to let her smile slip off her face as she innocently said, "Yeah, it is going quite well." He was genuinely happy for her. Though he could not come for her wedding, he always wished her well since he loved her as his own sister. He always wanted her to be happy. He was well aware of how difficult her childhood was back in the orphanage. He gently held her by her arms and kissed her forehead lovingly."I am so happy for you. You finally found the one who is meant for you. Finally (Chuckling softly) you are going to have the 'happily ever after' like you used to read in those fairy tales in our childhood." He said softly. As he was going to continue, a growl was heard by them from behind. "Get your hands off her." And she froze in her place. That voice. She could recognize that voice anywhere. It was him. But what was he doing here?Hearing his voice from behind, Cali remained glued in her place, too engrossed in thinking about the reason that could have brought him in here. He was taking slow and predatory steps towards them. His eyes were set on the man who had his hands and lips on his wife just a moment ago, all the while. His blood was boiling due to the jealousy coursing through his veins. As soon as he reached near them, he pulled his wife flush towards his chest, tugging her by her waist. And her mind went blank at his behaviour. What was his problem? She was failing to understand. If she meant nothing to him, then what was the point of being so possessive? His hand was snaked around her waist as his grip tightened, not hard enough to cause her pain though. Her cheeks were covered with a shade of crimson red, due to both embarrassment and anger. Who was he to behave like this with her brother? With that thought, she started struggling to get out of his hold, only to be held more firmly by him."Who the hel
She was in a daze. With her eyes wide open, she tried to comprehend that her husband, who shunned her in the morning, was now on top of her, with his lips pressed against hers. She started wriggling under him when she realized what he was trying to do. He was just like this when he was drunk and came home that night when they had an amazing sleep in each other's arms after they...she snapped out of her dreamland when she felt his lips on her throat, peppering feathery kisses. She pushed him away with all her might and he stumbled back, and on to the floor. He was shocked by the sudden rejection of Cali. In no time, his eyes darkened both with lust and anger. He wanted her but he could not understand why she was resisting him. It was clear as day that she also wanted him. Then why would she resist him? The last time she enjoyed it just as much as he did. What had changed now? Then suddenly, the thought of that man back at the restaurant came running to his mind. And he clenched his fist
The room was dimly illuminated by the morning sun rays that were filtering through the curtains of the windows. There, on the bed, were the couple sleeping. Their legs were tangled with each other and his arms were securely wrapped around her small frame. After some time, he started stirring from his peaceful slumber. He rubbed his eyes and looked at the clock to see it was seven in the morning. He sighed and then his gaze fell on the beauty sleeping next to him. He propped on his left elbow and started taking in her features. Her face was beautiful and serene, her pink plump lips that were parted slightly and were inviting him. So, he leaned in and placed a feather light kiss on them. A cute little frown was formed on her forehead due to the slight disturbance in her slumber. And he smiled at that. She was too cute for her own good. His gaze then fell onto the duvet that was barely covering his wife's chest, showcasing a large amount of the perky skin beneath it. And he licked his lip
When he came out of the bathroom, he saw that she was still laying on the bed, with the duvet still barely covering her body. When her eyes fell on him, her already red cheeks flushed some more. She stood up, holding the sheet tightly around her naked body and hurriedly walked passed him going towards the bathroom. He released a laugh looking at her flushed state. She was acting so shy infront of him. "Why so shy now, little amuse? You were so bold last night. And it is not like I have not seen any of this before. So, no need of hiding that delicious body from my sight." He said smirking victoriously when she literally ran into the bathroom and closed the door behind her. He could not stop himself from laughing out loud at her cute antics. After taking a quick shower, she got out of the bathroomwearing a bathrobe. She went inside the walk in closet and her eyes fell on her handsome husband who was wearing a casual black tee shirt and grey sweatpants and was now combing his hair. She f
She slid down the door after securing it with the lock. Her tears were flowing freely. She was feeling vulnerable. She had thought that he was different from his family members but he was just the same. She once again realized that no one in this world can love a poor and orphan person. Then how could she expect him to love her? She should not have. It was her mistake."Cali, please. I did not mean anything like that. Please open the door, give me a chance to speak. Please." He was softly knocking on the door as he knew that she was leaning against it. He could hear her muffled sobbing. He was really guilty. He did not want to yell at her but it was just the jealousy, yes, it was jealousy. He was jealous. She was his wife. How could he let her go to meet another man?She did not respond nor did she open door. Only the sound of silent crying was heard. Now, he was feeling super guilty. He did not want her to cry. He wanted to comfort her. He wanted to say sorry to her. But he could do t
A delicious shiver ran down her whole body at his possessive confession. She had never thought that he would claim her as his one day, and now that he did, she could not help but blush furiously. The memories of last night came into her mind vividly when he claimed her as his over and over again. He was looking at her amusingly. Last night she was so bold and now his simple confession had her cheeks painted all red as she was avoiding eye contact with him. She was feeling shy. He chuckled lightly, shaking his head. She never failed to amuse him. He still could not believe that this mixture of boldness and shyness, whom he called his wife, was all his and his only. "He is not whom you think he is. Ace is like my brother. We grew up in the same orphanage and we have quite a good bond. And do not take his words so seriously. He is just like that. Always teasing anyone and everyone." She said while chuckling at the last part. He looked at her surprised. "He is like your brother?" He ask
She laughed at herself remembering how she had misunderstood him at first. She always treated him badly because of her misunderstanding. Like throwing a glass of water at his face in one of those charity events when she met him for the first time after seeing him that day, talking rudely and arrogantly with him and once she even stomped on his foot angrily when he tried to approach her again like he always did. It was just the day before she joined the 'CH Advertising and Design' company as an intern graphic designer. How wrong she was about this man of hers. He truly loved animals just as much as she did. After getting married to him, when she found that that cute puppy was none other than Diesel, she confronted him about it. He then told her that he had found him on the road, abandoned and hungry. The cute little puppy came onto his feet, licking him which quite startled him and he ended up kicking him out of instincts. After realizing that he felt guilty and took the little puppy ho
The middle aged man stood there, dumbfounded. His eyes shone with moisture as he reminisced her face from just a moment ago. It was the same face, the very same face that he used to adore and care so much for and was regretting till now not being able to see her again for one last time. The very same face that he was dying to see again in real and not in his sweet but painful dreams only. The very same face that belonged to her. His beloved little sister. But how could it be? Same face, same nose, same lips, and even same eyes except her black hair. How could it be possible? Could it be...He needed to inform him about this. With that thought, he moved towards his office. * * *The harsh air slapped her face as her palms were getting clammy. She was on the verge of experiencing a heart attack. And she clutched her husband like her life was dependent on him, and it was actually, at that moment. "Will you slow the fuck down?" She shouted in her husband's ear, finally catching his atten
The whole sky was filled with colors, blue, orange, and pink as Cali sat on a chair in her balcony with a mug of chocolate smoothie in her hands, watching the beautiful sunset. She smiled with her eyes closed, feeling the serene touch of slow wind. It had been three days since she came back to her country, and a whole week since that incident happened. It was still difficult for her to think about what Horace did to her. She thought of him as her best friend once. But looked like he was harbouring an unhealthy obsession for her all the while. If he loved her like he claimed he did, he would not have done all of that to her, kidnapping her and attempting to rape her. She was still in a trauma for days as she could not believe that that person who did all that to her, was Horace. That day, Cain and her father came to her rescue right on time. Horace was handed over to the police but before that he got beaten by Cain. He punched him until he became all bloodied with a broken nose and
"Mr. Russells, here is the current location of that ring. And it is stationery which means your daughter is in there or maybe she lost the ring somewhere there." Said Mr. Russo while them the computer screen. "Okay. Let's not waste any more time. We should go there and check first." Cain said quickly as he got up from his seat and dashed out of the penthouse. Mr. Russells thanked Mr. Russo and asked him to send the location and to keep an eye on any movement as he too dashed out. They both settled inside Cain's car and he started driving following the given location, all the while praying mentally for Cali to be there, safe and sound. * * * "Darling, wake up now. You have slept for so long and it is past lunch time already. Come on, wake up. See, I have brought you your favorite chocolate muffins and smoothie." A voice called out to her making her groan as she shuffled in the bed and slowly opened her eyes. Seeing that man with dark beard infront of her, she squinted her eyes and
It was already twelve in the noon but there was no trace of Cali. Cain had called and informed Mr. Russells about everything. He got hell worried because she never did any such thing before, at least not without telling him. They tried her number again and again but it was now switched off. And right now Mr. Russells was on his way to come here. Cain himself was hell scared and worried for her as he called his private investigator to investigate this matter and was now pacing back and forth in her room while waiting for Mr. Pietro's call. Where could she be? Soon, he got a call from him but got disappointed when he told him that there was still no lead of her and it was more difficult because no one knew with whom she went out and there was no camera fitted in here. Cali always liked her privacy and that was why she did not let her father fit surveillance in her penthouse. Cain sat on the floor holding his head in his hands. After two more hours, Mr. Russells arrived there. His fac
The doorbell of the mansion rang. One of the maids opened the door which revealed Mr. Cain Hutton. However, his state was completely disheveled, with messy hair, damp cheeks and dull looking eyes. The maid let him in. When he went in, he spotted Mr. Russells sitting at the dining table sipping on a glass of water. Looked like he just finished his lunch as it was already two in the afternoon. Cain had not eaten anything since morning but he could not care any less about that right now. The maid informed Mr. Russells of the arrival of Mr. Hutton there. "Mr. Hutton, what brings you here?" He asked him in a cold tone as he came out to the hall. Cain just remained standing there with his head hung low. He was ashamed and afraid too. He was thinking Mr. Russells knew about his and Callistaa's relationship. "Please have a seat, Mr. Hutton." He said in the same emotionless voice. He nodded and sat down along with him. He cleared his throat and said, "Mr. Russells, I don't know if you kno
"What the fuck!!" He groaned loudly when he read the news headline about his and Ivy's wedding. This deed must be done by his parents. They were trying to convince him to marry her since a long time now. That was why he stopped visiting or talking to them. But this was just too much to take in now. What were they thinking while doing this? What if Cali read this? Or had she already read it? Oh, no! He would lose her for good. No, he would not let this happen. He went into his car and drove off to his parents' mansion. He was going there after so long. And that too, not for a good reason. He sped up and soon he was in their driveway. "No, you listen to me Ivy! What do you mean by you will expose us? Huh? Don't tell me you don't want this. I know that you badly wanted to get married to my son. Then why all this drama now? Just zip it up and what you are told to do." He heard his mother's yelling while he stood there outside the door which was cracked open a tad bit. He frowned. Expos
"Yes, Harold. I am fine. I just called you to let you know that I am back here. And right now I am heading to my penthouse. Are you home?" Asked Cali. "What? But you did not even tell me that you were coming beforehand. I would have received you at the airport." Harold said from the other end. "No worries, Harold. And I am sorry that I could not tell you that I am coming. Well, it was just last night that I decided to come here and now here I am." She sighed after explaining to him. "Okay. Go home for now. I will be there with dinner and we will eat together." She smiled at that. "Thank you so much, Harold. You are so sweet." She said and he chuckled. "That I sure am." He replied cockily. She giggled. "Alright, see you." ....... "Home sweet home!" She sighed tiredly when she reached home. The house was clean and all because of the workers assigned there by her father. She went into her room and plopped on her bed. It was a hasty decision. She knew but she had to leave.
"Dad, actually I need to talk to you." Said Cali while playing with her food on the plate. It was the next morning and they were now sitting at the dining table having breakfast. Mr. Russells stopped eating and looked at his daughter with a concerned look. "Wait, don't tell me you are pregnant already?" He blurted out making her choke on her saliva. "What? No, dad. I am not...pregnant. Why would you think like that?" She asked as she gulped some water from her glass. "You know, I just don't trust that boy, what is his name again, Harold?" She nodded. "Yes, Harold. I don't trust him around you at all. He seems like a playboy to me." He grumbled. Cali laughed at her father. "Oh, dad. I don't know what you are saying but that is not true though. He is a real gentleman." She said trying to convince him otherwise. He shook his head. "Sweetheart, tell me one thing. Do you love that boy?" Her face lost all the look of laughter at that question. "Uh...dad..." She stuttered but could
Five days later.... Sitting inside her office cabin, Cali was trying to focus on her work but everytime her mind was drifting to the one and only man who was invading her dreams every night. Everyday in the office, she was anticipating his arrival. But he never came back once to see her after that day when she lied to him about being a gold digger five days ago. Five days, it had been five days since she had seen him. She even contacted his secretary two days back to remind him that they were to discuss the changes in that contract. She thought that he would come to the office even if just for the sake of that contract. But how wrong she was! He sent his secretary to her office instead and did not come there himself. She was getting vexed now. She wanted to use the boss card by demanding that his presence was needed here but refrained from doing so because if she did something like that, he would get the idea that he affected her which was true to some extent. She shook those though
"Because you have proved that nine months ago. You chose to stay with her and have fun in your bedroom rather than being with me when I cooked lunch for you." Her voice broke and his eyes widened. "What?" He let out a mere whisper. She huffed and averted her eyes away from his as she felt them burn. He strode towards her and grabbed her jaw making her look directly in his eyes. "What do you mean by 'have fun in my bedroom'?" His jaw clenched with anger but his hold on her did not get hard so as to not hurt her. She tried to get out of his hold but in vain. Her tears started to leak out of her eyes. She was desperate to get away from him as she knew that she could not resist him for that long but she would not allow herself to fall for him again. "You know exactly what I mean. Now let go of me." She gritted out. But he did not faze. "You don't know what you saying. You don't know anything." He said darkly. "Oh! You mean to say that I am wrong in what I am saying?" She asked hi
