Hearing his voice from behind, Cali remained glued in her place, too engrossed in thinking about the reason that could have brought him in here. He was taking slow and predatory steps towards them. His eyes were set on the man who had his hands and lips on his wife just a moment ago, all the while.

His blood was boiling due to the jealousy coursing through his veins. As soon as he reached near them, he pulled his wife flush towards his chest, tugging her by her waist. And her mind went blank at his behaviour. What was his problem? She was failing to understand. If she meant nothing to him, then what was the point of being so possessive? His hand was snaked around her waist as his grip tightened, not hard enough to cause her pain though. Her cheeks were covered with a shade of crimson red, due to both embarrassment and anger. Who was he to behave like this with her brother? With that thought, she started struggling to get out of his hold, only to be held more firmly by him.

"Who the hell are you? And how do you know my wife?" He asked in a quite intimidating manner. His nostrils were flaring as he tried to control himself from punching that man square in his face.

Horace frowned at him but then as he realized something, he held both of his hands up as if he was surrendering infront of him and said, "Woah..woah man (Chuckling softly). Relax. I am not going to rob her away from you. She is all yours. After all, she is your wife. Anyways, hi! I am Horace." He said extending his hand for him to shake. But Cain was after all Cain, he dismissed him only by a curt nod. Embarrassed, Horace retracted his hand, nodding back at him. He was well aware of the attitude of such typical rich men. But he was no less. He knew how to counter them. However, he was quite impressed by this man infront of him. His protectiveness and possessiveness showed how much she meant for him.

He looked at Cali who was throwing an apologetic look at him. But he just shrugged and winked at her. And she knew that something mischievous was cooking inside his evil mind.

Cain, who was looking intently at him all the while, saw him winking at her and misinterpreted it, thinking that he was flirting with his wife and that too, infront of him. He felt agitated.

"You didn't tell me. How do you know my wife?" He asked stressing more on the phrase 'my wife'. Cali noticed how his eyes shone with a mischievous glint as he looked at Cain and said, "We, Mr. Cain, were childhood sweethearts." Hearing this, Cali's eyes went wide as she stared at Horace like she could not believe what he just said to him. And he, on the other hand, was just smiling innocently at his own mischief. But it took every fibre in Cain not to smash his face as those words came out of his mouth. Though he controlled himself as they had a whole audience there, he did not want to create a scene there. So, he refrained himself, much to his dismay. "I am sorry to say, Mr...?" He trailed off.

"Horace, Mr. Cain." He smiled at him teasingly. He was really enjoying his possessive side. "Yeah. Whatever." He replied curtly. "I am so sorry to say this to you Mr. Horace but your childhood sweetheart is now my beloved wife." Cali's little heart skipped a beat at this. She could not believe her ears. Was she day dreaming? It was just some time ago that he told her, she did not mean anything to him. And now, now what? He was openly claiming her as his wife. Was this man bipolar or something?

"Oh, I know Mr. Cain. But the thing is, does she love you?" A vein popped out on his forehead and the muscle of his jaw ticked. As Horace was busy with his innocent teasing, he did not notice the change in his demeanor. Cali, too, grew tensed beside him. Since Horace was unaware of what kind of relationship they had in real, he found it amusing to tease him.

But Cain had already enough of it. He could not take it anymore.

"That is none of your bloody concern. And why do you think she would not love me? She is my wife. Ofcourse she loves me." He said gnashing his teeth. Cali, on the other hand, was shocked to hear his confession. No, not his confession though, her confession but out of his mouth. And she would never allow him to do that.

Ofcourse, she had this warm feeling for him growing in her heart which he himself put ice cold water on. But what was wrong with him now? What had changed as of now. Even if she had any feeling for him, she would never say that to him because he would not for sure, reciprocate those feelings. And it would only break her little heart more than it was breaking already.

But for now, she had to do something to make this

situation under control. So, she somehow managed to slip out of his hold and as he was fuming by now, he did not notice that. She went near Horace and seeing her getting this near to that man did nothing but only aggravated his anger and...jealousy.

Cali brought herself near his ear and said, "Listen Ace, please can we meet some other day? I...I have to go now. Okay?"

"Yeah. Ofcourse we can. I will be staying here for two days. So, I guess we can meet again before I leave. Take care." He said smirking at his way, loud enough for him to hear and walked away. And Cain just clenched his fists as he looked at the both of them. Cali then came near him and stood before him.

"Are you coming home tonight?" She asked softly. But Cain

only shook his head negatively. And her heart fell at that even if she was expecting this response from him. "I am not going home tonight because we are going home right now." With that being said, he held her arm and started dragging her towards his expensive metallic navy blue sedan.

When they reached home, he again dragged her towards their bedroom. She had no idea what was going on in his mind but the fact that he was finally home after almost ten days, made her feel something that even she could not define. After that night, they had never seen each other till today, let alone be in the same bedroom. He made her sit at the edge of their bed and himself stood infront of her near the nightstand. He put his watch on the nightstand. And started removing his tie and asked her

mockingly, "So, he was your childhood sweetheart, huh?" She did not answer. Why would she? After all, she was not liable to answer any of his questions.

"What were you two doing there? Catching up, like some long lost sweethearts?" He let out a chuckle, a not so amused chuckle.

"Yes, we were. We were actually enjoying our time there until you showed up and decided to interrupt and ruin our sweet time together." She said bitterly as she could not control her smart-ass mouth this time. And quickly regretted it when she noticed how his expression changed but that quickly vanished as he asked her again, "So, are you going to visit him again?" This time, his tone was drop dead serious.

"Ofcourse, I will. And tomorrow itself." She said even if her sensible mind was screaming at her not to mess with the wounded animal infront of her. And that was it. That was all it took for all his barriers of control to be snapped and in an instant, she found herself pinned against the bed under him. Her hands were held by one of his above her head and her smart-ass mouth was claimed by his dominant one.

  • Orphan Callistaa    Epilogue

The whole sky was filled with colors, blue, orange, and pink as Cali sat on a chair in her balcony with a mug of chocolate smoothie in her hands, watching the beautiful sunset. She smiled with her eyes closed, feeling the serene touch of slow wind. It had been three days since she came back to her country, and a whole week since that incident happened. It was still difficult for her to think about what Horace did to her. She thought of him as her best friend once. But looked like he was harbouring an unhealthy obsession for her all the while. If he loved her like he claimed he did, he would not have done all of that to her, kidnapping her and attempting to rape her. She was still in a trauma for days as she could not believe that that person who did all that to her, was Horace. That day, Cain and her father came to her rescue right on time. Horace was handed over to the police but before that he got beaten by Cain. He punched him until he became all bloodied with a broken nose and

"Mr. Russells, here is the current location of that ring. And it is stationery which means your daughter is in there or maybe she lost the ring somewhere there." Said Mr. Russo while them the computer screen. "Okay. Let's not waste any more time. We should go there and check first." Cain said quickly as he got up from his seat and dashed out of the penthouse. Mr. Russells thanked Mr. Russo and asked him to send the location and to keep an eye on any movement as he too dashed out. They both settled inside Cain's car and he started driving following the given location, all the while praying mentally for Cali to be there, safe and sound. * * * "Darling, wake up now. You have slept for so long and it is past lunch time already. Come on, wake up. See, I have brought you your favorite chocolate muffins and smoothie." A voice called out to her making her groan as she shuffled in the bed and slowly opened her eyes. Seeing that man with dark beard infront of her, she squinted her eyes and

  • Orphan Callistaa    Where could she be?

It was already twelve in the noon but there was no trace of Cali. Cain had called and informed Mr. Russells about everything. He got hell worried because she never did any such thing before, at least not without telling him. They tried her number again and again but it was now switched off. And right now Mr. Russells was on his way to come here. Cain himself was hell scared and worried for her as he called his private investigator to investigate this matter and was now pacing back and forth in her room while waiting for Mr. Pietro's call. Where could she be? Soon, he got a call from him but got disappointed when he told him that there was still no lead of her and it was more difficult because no one knew with whom she went out and there was no camera fitted in here. Cali always liked her privacy and that was why she did not let her father fit surveillance in her penthouse. Cain sat on the floor holding his head in his hands. After two more hours, Mr. Russells arrived there. His fac

  • Orphan Callistaa    What am I going to do with you

The doorbell of the mansion rang. One of the maids opened the door which revealed Mr. Cain Hutton. However, his state was completely disheveled, with messy hair, damp cheeks and dull looking eyes. The maid let him in. When he went in, he spotted Mr. Russells sitting at the dining table sipping on a glass of water. Looked like he just finished his lunch as it was already two in the afternoon. Cain had not eaten anything since morning but he could not care any less about that right now. The maid informed Mr. Russells of the arrival of Mr. Hutton there. "Mr. Hutton, what brings you here?" He asked him in a cold tone as he came out to the hall. Cain just remained standing there with his head hung low. He was ashamed and afraid too. He was thinking Mr. Russells knew about his and Callistaa's relationship. "Please have a seat, Mr. Hutton." He said in the same emotionless voice. He nodded and sat down along with him. He cleared his throat and said, "Mr. Russells, I don't know if you kno

"What the fuck!!" He groaned loudly when he read the news headline about his and Ivy's wedding. This deed must be done by his parents. They were trying to convince him to marry her since a long time now. That was why he stopped visiting or talking to them. But this was just too much to take in now. What were they thinking while doing this? What if Cali read this? Or had she already read it? Oh, no! He would lose her for good. No, he would not let this happen. He went into his car and drove off to his parents' mansion. He was going there after so long. And that too, not for a good reason. He sped up and soon he was in their driveway. "No, you listen to me Ivy! What do you mean by you will expose us? Huh? Don't tell me you don't want this. I know that you badly wanted to get married to my son. Then why all this drama now? Just zip it up and what you are told to do." He heard his mother's yelling while he stood there outside the door which was cracked open a tad bit. He frowned. Expos

  • Orphan Callistaa    It's not Harold

"Yes, Harold. I am fine. I just called you to let you know that I am back here. And right now I am heading to my penthouse. Are you home?" Asked Cali. "What? But you did not even tell me that you were coming beforehand. I would have received you at the airport." Harold said from the other end. "No worries, Harold. And I am sorry that I could not tell you that I am coming. Well, it was just last night that I decided to come here and now here I am." She sighed after explaining to him. "Okay. Go home for now. I will be there with dinner and we will eat together." She smiled at that. "Thank you so much, Harold. You are so sweet." She said and he chuckled. "That I sure am." He replied cockily. She giggled. "Alright, see you." ....... "Home sweet home!" She sighed tiredly when she reached home. The house was clean and all because of the workers assigned there by her father. She went into her room and plopped on her bed. It was a hasty decision. She knew but she had to leave.
